Engine Stall Problems of Hyundai Veloster

Car making a lot of sound when turning off and on it's coming from the engine also stalled while driving. Was told there's a recall but still nothing done about it scared tk drive my own car that I pay for.

Engine stalls automatic transmission shudders shifting from 2nd to 3rd.

My car is under open recall with Hyundai compaign # recall 182 or NHTSA recall #19v204000 . I have engine damage in cylinder number 2 which is due to the mix of air and fuel and Hyundai refuse to cover my engine under this recall even they put safety risk of this recall is :engine damage can increase the risk of a fire or cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. So Hyundai want to do only software update to prevent the safety risk but it is to late for my case since the risk or the damage is already happened to my car and they refuse to cover the bad engine that I have now . Driving on interstate, all lights flashed on, engine light remained on and my car stalled and would not accelerate. I had to take it out of drive, put it in sport mode and then back to drive. It would shake violently if I went above 45 miles an hour, I was 130 miles from home. This is not first time this has happened, have made previous complaints.

While parked, car starts hard then will not shift, despite the dash saying it's in drive. Have to shut off, wait, then restart. At stop signs, car will stall then not restart. Once restarted, car will not shift. Need to shut off then restart repeatedly until it shifts. While in motion going straight on the highway, car will act as if it's lost engine power and then stall completely. Again, car will not start, and once it starts it will not shift. Again repeat the turn on/off process until it shifts. Has happened more and more frequently but dealer cannot give me an answer. This car is very unsafe to me and others on the road with it's unpredictability.

The contact owned a 2015 Hyundai Veloster. While driving 60 mph, the contact noticed smoke under the passenger side dashboard. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road as the engine stalled. The contact opened the hood and observed flames around the engine compartment. The fire department was called and extinguished the fire. A police report was filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The VIN was invalid. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000.
