2 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2007 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 06/25/2019

While driving my 2007 Infiniti G35 Tuesday June 25, 2019 the vehicle cut off while driving to work and home. Have had no prior problems and it had low miles at purchase. There is a loss of acceleration power and the vehicle hesitates, the steering wheel locks, and vehicle runs with a high idle, and the check engine light stayed on. This happened on the expressway as I was driving which is extremely dangerous. The vehicle has a defective camshaft sensor/evt control sensor/ evt control magnet retarder. I have photos, still shots pics, videos of myself driving and the engine cutting off while driving without notice due to the defective cam shaft sensor. I have pics of me on the highway due to engine shut off. I have photos of the truck that almost slammed into my car on the highway. I have videos of the check engine light currently on. I have a photo of the diagnostics the day I arrived which nalley Infiniti in marietta GA is double charging me $161. 00 for a diagnostic I already received. They are charging me $2298. 06 for repairs. I have recall graph from infinity north America inc showing the number of recalls within the last 15 years. I gave a copy of this email along with supporting evidence to my family in the event of my death involving a fatal accident resulting from the faulty defective camshaft sensor/ evt control sensor/ evt control magnet retarder. I notated that I informed nalley infinity as a owner and consumer, and they knew about about the recall, but they did not do their due diligence by replacing the defective sensors while the vehicle was not in my care before I purchased and they won't honor or extend the recall #06v394000, 01v357. I've owned vehicle for 2 1/2 years and less than 39,000 miles at purchase. I want nalley Infiniti to totally repair under warranty. Car is at dealership via tow truck on 6/25/19. Started 6/22/19 problem got worse rapidly.

6 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2005 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 04/08/2015

I was driving on the highway at 55 miles an hour when unexpectedly, the car starts to make some noise then it completely shuts down the motor, the check engine light comes on, vdc off, and slip lights all came on. I tried to restart the car, and only after multiple attempts (about three) did the car start. There is no warning. The auto repair facility ran a diagnostic and the code they got was the cam sensors needed replacing, which cost me $650. They said they have been replacing a lot of these. It's very prevalent. They informed me that the 2003 model of the Infiniti G35 had arecall for the same problem.

8 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2003 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 09/15/2014

The engine shuts off on the road while the vehicle is in motion. It happened 2 years ago first time. Replaced camshaft position sensor bank 1 and bank 2. It happened again today, while I was driving on the highway with my pregnant wife. Luckily I was able to avoid any accident and parked on the shoulder. Check engine light came up. Code p0340 . Same problem like 2 years ago. So the problem comes back again and again ,even when the sensors were replaced (oem parts. ) there was Infiniti recall on that problem (recall # r3021) . I request Infiniti dealership to fix this problem with no cost. Thank you.

10 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2005 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 08/21/2014

I have done some research online. Lots of people are having or have had the same same problem. Very prevalent. As you are driving the down the road the car starts to make some noise then it completely shuts down the motor, the check engine light comes on and does not start once it stops. There is no warning. It takes a while for the sensor to reset -- putting me and my vehicle in harms way. This happened to me on a very busy overpass. The vehicle shut down. I had a hard time steering and getting over out of the way. I was almost hit several times by other cars driving 50 plus mph. I had to have the car towed. Once we got to the auto repair facility. It started again but then shut off. I was googling this symptom and the year, make model (2005 infiiniti G35 engine stall) and this was all over the internet. Several other people were put at risk of injury. I was convinced this was my problem, too. The auto repair facility ran a diagnostic and this was the code they got as well. I already knew what the problem was going to be. So my question is. . . Why has this not been recalled if? it is dangerous. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. Thank god my daughter was not driving.

11 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2003 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 08/14/2014

As I was accelerating to access highway, I was not able to accelerate my vehicle. It was as if I was running out of gas. I kept pressing the gas pedal and it slowly started to accelerate and seemed fine. A few minutes later when I was sitting at a red light, the car died. I put it in park and restarted and it was fine. A few days later the same thing happened as I was in the carpool line at my daughter's school. Car was running, while I waited and it suddenly shut down. When I restarted, the check engine light was illuminated and remained on. I checked my manual and thought it could be the gas cap wasn't on tight enough or bad gas. Filled up my tank and a few hours later check engine light went out. Today the car died as I was pulling into my driveway, however immediately restarted. Researched recall information and contacted Infiniti and was told my vehicle was not part of NHTSA campaign number 03v455000.

Failure Date: 08/28/2012

Car was being driven at about 65mph when it lost power and the vdc, slip and check engine soon lights all came on the car regain power but at less amount and was hard to start. Was taken to dealer. And was found to need a cam pos sensor. If this loss of power happen when passing on a 2 lane road I may not be writing this . The 2003 models had a recall I think this model needs one to. The cost was over 350. 00.

17 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2004 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 07/28/2012

First, on 07/28/2012, at about 60 mph while driving on the freeway, notice the vehicle's engine sort of stalled (saw the tachometer drop completely) for 1 second and resume operation. Continue driving but the slip, vdc and check engine lights came on. Continued driving the car to my destination, which was less than a mile from this incident. After a while, tried to start the car and it would not start. It took a few tries and finally did. Decided to go back home and as I was exiting the freeway at about 45 mph (thanks good) the car's engine completely shut off (thanks god was exiting the freeway (don't want to think what could have happened with cars coming right behind me at about 70). Was able to restart the car after a few minutes and continued driving slow (on the streets) to my destination. The car now starts ok after a while but suddenly dies. Took the car to a repair show and it shows a p0335 code (crankshaft position sensor). My mechanic says, very common problem with this cars. ***same recall as in the 2003 model year*** what are we waiting for, for some one to die in a car accident for Nissan's failure to correct this problem that was reported in the 2003 models??? I hope not. If I had children, I would transport them in this vehicle, ever!!!.

18 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2004 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 07/09/2012

Yesterday, July 9, 2012, hile driving under normal conditions on a main city street the engine on my 2004 Infiniti G35 just stopped running. Lost power steering and power brakes. Managed to manually steer the car off the road into a parking lot. The vdc off and slip lights and the check engine soon lights came on. I turned off the ignition and just sat there, stunned, for a few minutes. I decided to try to start it up again, and it did start and sounded ok, so I slowly drove it on home. After doing some research online for the next hour, I kind of figured it might be this defective cam position sensor, as the symptoms my car displayed sounded just like what so many others were describing, plus inifiniti and Nissan had a recall for this very problem issued on the 2003 G35. I completely agree with others that the 2004 G35 should be under this same recall. This is an extremely dangerous situation to be driving and suddenly, without warning, lose all engine power. I will add that later that evening I had to go somewhere, so I took a chance that it would make it. It quit on me twice in the area around my home within 10 blocks. So, obviously I cannot take this car very far from home without getting this repaired and replaced. I took it to autozone today to have them find out the code for the check engine soon light. It's what I suspected, 0340, which is the passenger side cam position sensor. The very thing on the 2003 inifiniti G35 model recall.

19 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2003 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 07/06/2012

Engine became inoperable while driving causing a major safety issue. Several warning lights came on simultaneously (check engine light, slip light, vdc light) at the time. Car was able to be restarted with some trouble. Problem repeated itself (stalling, loss of power, starting difficulty) over next couple days, although warning lights never went off. Independent mechanic identified problem as cam position sensor failures & advised there was a NHTSA safety recall (NHTSA campaign id 03v455000) for the problem with 2003 G35s, but that my VIN was outside the campaign recall vins. He suggested I contacted Infiniti. I contacted both dealer and Infiniti national customer service who acknowledged there was a cam position sensor problem with 2003 G35s, but because my VIN was not in the campaign they refused to do anything to address the safety issue. I had the dealer replace the cam position sensors at my expense (about $1500). There are a number of similar complaints filed with the NHTSA about this problem with no apparent resolution with Infiniti. The recall campaign 03v455000 needs to be extended to cover all problem vehicles.

26 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2003 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 09/28/2010

In April (2010) I noticed that my check engine light was on and my vehicle would not start. I waited and attempted to restart it a few times until it finally started. I went home and I planned on taking my car to the Infiniti service center the next day. When I took my vehicle to the infinit service center I was told that my camshaft position sensor needed to replaced. I replaced it that day and then seven months later in November my vehicle began to replicate the same malfunctions. I thought it was my battery because I had just had this problem fixed. So I bought another battery, but my car continued to not start at random times. Therefore, I took my vehicle back up to the Infiniti service center I was told that the camshaft position b2 went out. I had that replaced as well.

28 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2003 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 02/13/2009

I was getting of the freeway when all of a sudden my 2003 Infiniti G35 turned off. When I tried to restart the car the car struggled to start eventually did. Later that night the car was driving fine. The next day I was driving the car I was turning on a intersection and the car shut down on me again almost causing an accident. My slip light. Vch light and check engine lights turned on. I took it to my mechanic he checked it with the computer got the codes p0011 and p0340 cam position sensor and crank position sensor. I told me that the car might have a defect because that year and model was known to have this issue. I checked the internet and I found the recall NHTSA # 03v455000. I called Infiniti gave them my VIN number and they said my car was not affected by that recall. My call clearly has all the symptoms stated in the recall. This is not far Infiniti does not want to take responsibility for this.

29 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2004 Infiniti G35

The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 56.

30 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2003 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 11/04/2003

1) car has been meticulously cared for. At 44,450 miles, the engine dies unexpectedly while going at 25mph. Engine cranks roughly for a long time at start, but starts eventually. I get the "check engine light", "vdc off" and "slip" light on. 2) the error was associated to "camshaft position sensor". Since the start of this condition, engine dies atleast once every drive - mostly at low rpm, but twice at 25 and 40 mph resulting in near collisions! I called Infiniti and they mentioned that my particular VIN has no recalls associated with it for this condition - but I clearly see a 630,000 car recall for this condition under engine & engine cooling with NHTSA id# 03v455000. 3) the dealership is willing to repair for $105/hr for something that is clearly a vehicle defect. They will change the camshaft position sensor.
