Infiniti G35 owners have reported 11 problems related to engine shut off without warning (under the engine and engine cooling category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Driving on the highway in fast lane during evening commute, my infinity malfunctioned - random engine shutoff. This malfunction disabled all features of vehicle - lights, steering, brakes, airbags, and more. (the previous section only let me select three affected parts) luckily I was able to coast vehicle to a stop on the inside of the highway without causing an accident, being injured myself or worse. Had to have vehicle towed from scene. Research shows that a variety of infinity vehicles from 2005 to the current year have experienced this same malfunction issue and there seems to have been a recall issued for later years. I contacted infinity regarding this issue and was told that my vehicle not covered. Request that NHTSA investigate cause of random shutoff (some sort of fuel sensor) and issue a recall for all infinity years/models to correct this issue. Infinity suggests I bring vehicle in for diagnosis but will be subject to hourly rate for diagnosis and replacement parts/repairs.

My car has started stalling while driving, while driving! I have gone to the dealer to have issue fixed, once I get it fixed it happens again, and then the dealer says it might be something else. I have a small child and its terrifying knowing that if I'm on the highway my car will stall or anywhere for that matter. It's been happening for weeks, started at very low speeds and as of yesterday the engine shut off, no steering while going at a higher speed, I could have easily been in a wreck, or even killed someone walking. It's unsafe! there are many forums online regarding this issue with Infiniti vehicles and they don't care. Lawsuit waiting to happen.

Engine shutoff without warning. Service engine soon, slip, and vdc off indicators all immediately illuminated. Problem occurred 3 times within a one hour period. I was able to pull off the road and restart the car each time. This could have been a very dangerous condition, especially if it would have happened while on an expressway. Problem seems similar to recall 03v455000, but my VIN is not listed.

Just bought an 03 G35 sedan and after almost getting involved on an accident because my car shuts off in the middle of the freeway on my way home from work. I've been doing some research and there's a recall for defective sensors that causes the engine to stop without a warning (camshaft position sensors and crank position sensor ) I've contacted Infiniti consumer affairs about this problem and they told me that my vehicle is not on the list for recalls, it is doing the exact same thing that the recall says and Infiniti doesn't want to be responsible for that, I need to know what can I do since I just bought this car and now I don't feel safe driving it.

Tl-the contact owns a 2003 Infiniti G35. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle stalled, the check engine soon, the vdc, the slip and the brake warning lights illuminated. The vehicle switched to neutral from drive gear. The contact had to maneuver to the side of the road to a complete stop. The engine shut down. The vehicle was restarted normally and was driven home. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the diagnosis was that the crank position sensor needed replacement. The vehicle was not repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact also stated that the failure recurred five other times. The approximate failure mileage was 165,582. Djr.
My 2005 Infiniti G35 unexpectedly shut off while I was driving it today. Thankfully, I was not on the freeway at the time. The service engine soon, vdc off, and slip lights all came on. I tried to restart the car, and only after multiple attempts (about five) did the car start, and I was able to park in a safe place. Something very similar happened with this car in July 2010. After the July 2010 incident, I had to replace a couple of sensors, which cost over $1,000. I did not expect to have to relive the experience of having my car shut off without warning while driving. I believe that the older (2003) version of the Infiniti G35 had a recall for a similar problem. It is unacceptable that Infiniti / Nissan has not found a permanent solution to this problem. I had my car towed to an Infiniti dealership this evening, and I await the diagnostic reading tomorrow. I will be petrified to drive my car now.
When driving slow, 5 to 15 mph merging onto busy interstate 84 highway without warning the battery light, and brake light will come on and engine shuts off. The car lights, radio still work. Put the car in park start the engine and its starts up as normal. This car has gone to the dealer, and 2 other shops 800. 00 later its still having a stalling issue. I have a 4 year old and this issue scares me.
In December 2013 I was driving on the highway with the cruise control set at 60 mph when vehicle completely shut down. Vehicle started back up because of the speed I was driving. Later on my trip home I was doing 45 mph and vehicle shut down and loss all control of vehicle. Brought the vehicle to an autozone to scan and see what the problem was. It was the camshaft position sensors. I changed the sensors and had no problems until 3/20/2014 when the vehicle started shutting down again. First thought it was bad fuel. Tried different fuel station and vehicle still would shut down unexpected. When vehicle shuts down you lose control of vehicle. Very dangerous situation for the route that I drive due to a lot of curves in the road. Brought the vehicle to autozone again to scan for the problem and now it's the crankshaft position sensor. Called Infiniti to see if there was a recall because I have seen a lot of comments on this problem. Infiniti said there was no open recall. Bought sensor and will repair myself before a serious incident occurs.
I was driving my car in rush hour traffic, washington, DC. My car, for no apparent reason shut off and a light "service engine soon" came on. There was no warning that the car was going to cut-off. It simply shut off in the middle of traffic. I tried to restart and was unsuccessful the first couple of times. About the 4th try my car started and I continued to my destination. The "ses" light remained on. About 1 to 2 miles into the remainder of the drive, the car shut off again in traffic and a light that read "slip" appeared along with vdc on/off. I have the slightest idea what this means, but it was frightening to be in traffic and have my car shut off without warning and my children on board. We could have definitely been in a really bad situation had this happened on the highway. I've seen multiple reports and complaints about this and believe this should truly be considered as a viable recall. I don't think we should wait for any actual accident or death to occur before this is addressed properly.
I have a 2003 Infiniti G35 coupe with a cam angle sensor that went bad. There was a large batch of these issued for 620,000 vehicles, but not covered under my VIN. I was supplied with a faulty part that could put my life at risk in the event the car shuts off on the highway.
My friend and I are driving through atlanta on I-285 and my 2003 Infiniti g-35 stops instantly causing us to almost have a serious crash possibly killing ourselves and others, I had my car taken to an auto salon and the diagnostics equipment read cam or crank sensor malfunction, I called 2003 Infiniti services due to a recall on this car with this problem and the recall informed customers to be cautious of this problem because it could cause engine to shut off without warning for 2003 models, well I contacted them and the Infiniti representative explained that my car did not make the 2003 recall since my car was manufactured in 2002 of January, as if the same problem does not exist.
