1 Loud Engine Noise problem of the 2002 Infiniti I35

Failure Date: 08/10/2017

I had recently had some work done on my car to replace the right bearing wheel and the power steering line, as there was a leak and loud roaring noise when driving on the highway as confirmed by the mechanic. About a week later, I was driving on the highway (at about 65 mph) when all of a sudden I felt a jerking in the car, suddenly the engine light turned on, and the the temperature gauge shot all the way up. I pulled to side of the road as soon as I could because I saw white smoke coming from under the hood. I had bought this car about 2 years ago from my uncle and I had taken the car to the dealer for the takata recall. They never mentioned anything else. Then about a month before this all happen my uncle sent me a letter (as he had moved away, regarding another recall on the I35. I was planning on taking the car to the Infiniti dealer for the recall after replacing the power steering line and front right wheel bearing. However I did not even get a chance to do so. I would really like to know if my situation has anything to do with a recall.

2 Loud Engine Noise problem of the 2004 Infiniti I35

Failure Date: 06/12/2013

I had the oil changed in June 2013. In early July my daughter said that the engine light came on and a day or 2 later the car was making loud noises from under the hood. We checked the oil and it was bone dry. We chalked it up to the last oil change as not having enough oil put in it. Well, 5 weeks later the same thing happened along with the oil light. I checked the oil and it's bone dry. All warning lights go off after putting oil in. The car is burning oil, alot of oil very quickly with no residue on the driveway. I went online and many people are having the same problem, mileage should not be an issue. I have yet to bring it in to the dealer for fear that it will need an engine. Some light colored smoke comes out of the right side of exhaust. This is probably happening more than documented as owners may feel like there's not much to complain about with a 9 year old luxury car.
