Jeep has failed to fix recall 23v-338 after 9 months. I called the manufacturer today (2/5/2024) at the number you have listed on your recall page (800-853-1403) and they were totally unable to supply any information other than the recall is still open and they have no anticipated repair date at this time. . Jeep has not responded in a timely manner and I have waited 9 months which is more than enough time to get this fixed.
My parking break became stuck on and would not turn off. A warning light came on to service the parking brake. The car would not move. Upon inspection of the epb module, it was wet, with corrosion, to the point where water can be heard in the module unit. That area of the rear of the car was also wet. My car will not drive and I will be taking it to a Jeep dealership shortly.
The vehicle keeps loosing power, everything has been tested battery wise it not the battery. It’s acting like it’s not getting fuel. This started 3/28/23, between 40 and 60 vehicle shakes and is hesitant to go. Vehicle will jerk badly and clunk. While the check engine light starts flashing. When codes are check they are for power loss & failure.
Body control module failed at 59,xxx miles. Vehicle could not read gears and wouldn't shift into gear. The second time the vehicle wouldn't shut off and continued to stay in run. Vehicle failed to read the right gear while driving. First warning light was service parking brake and service transmission. After that no warning lamps. After inspection the bcm failed and is a discontinued part for the vehicle. Was repaired at the dealer and 7 days later the vehicle failed with same issues and is currently undrivable. Purchased in Feb 16th 2023 and have had it on the road for 30 days total.
Truck stopped in the middle of the road almost causing me and my daughter to get by oncoming traffic. Service transmission appeared on the screen before the car stop and power off.
Ive had my Cherokee for over a year now, the transmission in it isnt great. Shifts funny alot. (hard shifts, late shifts). I was driving on a back road and after a sharp curve where I had to slow down. After exiting the curve I tried to speed up and the transmission jerks so hard it nearly sent me into the opposite lane with incoming traffic. Its happened serveal time now over the last year. I have taken it to the dealership to have it look at. I was told "thats just how those 2014s are" "we can try and flash it but theres nothing else we can do. It was just as it should but a see what you are talking about" there were no warning lights on or anything else that would indicate this happening. First appeared September of 2021, one month after purchase. Dealership does know about it and says thats how they are. They always work on my vehicles for me and I trust their judgement. But after the near miss of a head on collision, it has me worried.
The body seam is leaking causing floor board in front and rear to have puddles of water in the floor, and mold. I'm on oxygen. This is not safe at all. Also the rear mopar had to be replaced cause of park brake failure. This needs to be recalled ASAP. It's happening on a lot of your Jeep cheerokees. Thank you.
Service shifter warning keeps going on. The car's transmission went out at 74,000 miles and I paid for a brand new oem transmission. 20,000 miles later on the new transmission, it has service shifetr red lights on like other 2014 & 015 Jeep but mine doesn't show as part of that recall.
Recently every time I fill my car with gas it continuously stalls out of no where afterward then after driving it for a while it will be ok until I need gas again. The car only has 30,000 miles on it and my mechanic said the battery in brand new and the alternator is fine??? this almost caused a major accident pulling out on a 3 lane highway into traffic.
Ptu failure.
There is currently a recall, u90, on my Jeep. This recall causes high emissions. My vehicle will not pass department of motor vehicles with high emissions. There is a back order for the part that will fix the recall. The recall has also caused codes to come on, which can lead to other malfunctions. If malfunctions due to this recall while I am driving it can be harmful to myself and others.
The transmission swc 4wd light is on. When brought to Jeep they are saying the part pto unit is on back order and they will not assist me to fix the car. I have researched and the 2014 3. 2 liter engine with 4wheel drive has faulty pto unit and approximately 100,000 have experienced this problem. I am 75 with a low mileage car and need help.
Car will no longer shift in 4low.
My vehicle will shift roughly, sometimes surging before switching gears. This is more pronounced after refueling. Additionally, sometimes immediately after refueling, the vehicle will sputter and die when trying to pull away from the pump. Attempting to turn it back on may take a few tries before its successful. The battery light may come on, but the battery has been confirmed as not the issue. Having my vehicle shut down mid drive after fueling to where I can't steer it or move it out of the way is extremely unsafe! I just took it to the dealership. They completed a recall involving a powertrain software update, but did have any explanation for why my car would randomly die after getting gas.
My car shuts off while driving and idling. I have taken it to a shop and they could not find anything wrong with it. I have also taken it to a dealership, it is on its third time in 6 months being there. They have gotten the car to shut off while driving it, but they do not know what is wrong with it, as there are no codes populating. I have put $2000 into this for issues that are not correcting the actual problem. This is a safety hazard, as I have almost been hit multiple times, because it is stalling out. I have contact Jeep corporate and they were in contact with me for a while, but now they will not answer my calls or emails. My dealership says they are at the point of making a case too, as no codes are being thrown and they do not know what is wrong with it. My children are scared to be in the car with me and this is my only vehicle. I am borrowing one now, but the person needs it back.
Ptu failed while driving, the vehicle’s computer threw a code and disabled the 4wd. A google search seems to show that this is a pretty widespread defect with the Cherokee. The dealer is charging me $4,000 to make the repair. They say it will take them a week to secure a replacement part.
My vehicle shutsdown repeatdly in the middle of the road without any warning and I was even about to have an accident many times because of the sudden shutdown and now I get it diagnosed because of another svc 4wd light turning on. It came out to be a power transmission unit/failure which need to be fixed.
Ptu unit has tested as faulty, needs replaced to the tune of $3000 and is not included in the ptu recall. Dealer has confirmed the problem. *just the dealer. , svc 4wd light began illuminating on and off about 3 weeks ago.
The 4wd will not work, so any time I need the 4x4 capability it is not available. I read that this problem can also prevent the car from going into park, so it can roll and cause an accident, so now I am afraid to drive it at all . It is not fixed yet.
Unknown. While driving one day the traction light and check engine light came on and then the 2014 Jeep Cherokee sport SUV started shifting gears funny like on delay mode. Engine tach gauge showed engine was reving higher then normal but the vehicle wasnt moving any faster. Then when taking off from a standstill at a light the SUV shifted like it was stuck on first and then jerked when it finally shifted up to next gear. Took it to oriellys to have them hook up the scan tool and it read tcm - gear jerked while in neutral type of code.
Took our Jeep into dealership - tom o’brien Jeep in greenwood, in because check engine light was on. Was told it the codes were low voltage & the battery needed to be replaced which we did. Within 15 minutes of picking up the car, the check engine light was on again along with. 4wd message. Took it back to same dealership. Now we’re told ptu was going out & to get rid of the car. There is no recall on my VIN but was told there is an issue with the Cherokees & the ptu’s going bad. I’m reporting this issue so in can be included in your data.
Everytime I put m y car in reverese, back up, stop, and then put my car in drive mode, the car will just stall out, the whole car turns off, occasionaly, the car will not even shift and will be stuck in reverse. When that happens, I am unable to turn the car and obisouly I am not able to restart the car. I then have to initatite the emergency brake, then wait sometimes up to an hour. Then try to shift the care to park to restart the car. Then once I restart the car it appears the car works just fine until next time I reverse.
I had purchased this 2014 Jeep in the summer of 2021, which for the first many months was in the dealership repair shop longer than what I had it in my possession. After my purchase this vehicle immediately started having very strong jerking when hitting the exploratory, and even when attempting to hold a speed. These strong jerks were so strong it would cause your body to jolt forward. The dealership finally threw up their arms and said this was typical of the Jeeps, and ignoring the danger. This vehicle has now been sitting in my driveway unable to start for over a month now, and was finally towed to another repair shop, just to learn that the starter is shot and needed to be replaced costing over $600. 00 dollars. This vehicle is most definitely a dangerous lemon that it appears that I am stuck with.
My 2014 Jeep Cherokee impreza is stalling and lurching from a stop position as I press the excelerator to enter a street. This is especially problematic since I have to enter a highway ( oregon coastal highway 101) from a stop position turning right to go into town. This has been a problem for approximately 1. 5 years and is a safety issue that could result in a fatal accident and is becoming more frequent.

When at a stop, car will dart forward even when I have foot on brake. Narrowly missed car in front of me. It does this everytime I stop.
According to the driver and a local dealership, while driving down the highway, the transfer case failed and the underside of the vehicle caught fire.
Service transmission light and service parking brake came on vehicle gets stuck in neutral will not shift to park or drive when in drive will not shift into overdrive will run at 4,000 to 4,500 rpm at 60 mph.
The car goes into neutral while driving and loses power. Has happened more than 10 times. This has resulted in twice on the freeway and almost caused an accident. I have taken it in to be repaired and they stated it was a software issue.
Every time I fill up with gas, the car dies a few times while driving away from the gas station. Sometimes at high speeds. The "shift to park" notification comes on and I have to pull over, shift to park and shift back into drive. This happens a few times and then goes away until the next time I fill gas.
While driving my car suddenly seems to lose power and stop and on my dash it says must placed for on break to shift into park. As I am driving down the highway or through an intersection I am not trying to put it in park and it has caused me to almost getting rex a few times. I find it very hard to believe when I enter my VIN on your site it shows no recalls for this vehicle but when I enter my VIN on mopar. Com it shows about 4 recalls and three campaigns. My vehicle stalls while driving and it's unsafe for my kids. I got the issue �repaired� and the car stalls even more, there is a huge thump in the engine when I switch gears from park to revers or park to drive. Yesterday when I went to turn my car on the start button got stuck and the car did not turn on, my husband replaced the battery and got the car on but now the car won't turn off.

Vehicle has begun losing power when accelerating. There has already been a recall for this, but it does not appear that my VIN is included. This occurred twice while accelerating on a highway.
