I am writing to express my deep frustration and concern regarding the unresolved recall on my Jeep vehicle, which has rendered it unsafe and undrivable. Despite my repeated efforts, I have received no meaningful support or communication from stellantis. Here are the details: recall status: the vehicle is subject to an open recall (issued in January 2025), for which a remedy is still unavailable. Dealership diagnosis: on or around July 15, 2025, I took my vehicle to a certified Jeep dealership due to warning messages and irregular driving behavior. The dealership confirmed the vehicle is exhibiting symptoms directly associated with the recall and advised me to park the vehicle immediately for safety reasons. Stellantis communication breakdown: I contacted stellantis on July 15, 2025, and was informed a case manager would reach out. As of today, I have received no follow-up communication. When I attempt to call, I am either disconnected or transferred to a voicemail with no response. There is no direct way to reach the case manager, and I am forced to call repeatedly with no resolution. Impact on my life: I have been without a vehicle since July 15. I rely on my car to get to work, transport my children, and attend medical appointments. I am still responsible for monthly car payments and insurance on a vehicle that I cannot safely operate. Given the safety risk and financial burden, I am formally requesting immediate assistance in the form of a loaner vehicle or rental coverage until a recall remedy is available and the vehicle is repaired.
Vehicle has been having driving issues such as noises and loss of power while driving. Recall for power control module, have been told they can’t give a loaner and they don’t have parts since the recall was issued (01/16/2025) was in the shop while that recall was going on (8 months actually because they couldn’t get parts) because it caused my differentials to lock up, they replaced them but vehicle has still had problems since then and was told there was nothing to be done. Warning signals come on and off when vehicle loses power, all dashboard lights cut on and off and it makes noise when shifting gears or accelerating. I have been terrified to drive it for months because it has just been getting worse and I am currently pregnant and don’t want to put my child at risk if it were to cause a wreck because I was told it could go out at anytime.
My 2019 Jeep Cherokee 2. 4l engine is consuming an excess amount of oil. I took it to the dealership and the only solution I was given was to replace my entire engine. I looked up recalls for this, there are none. Never received anything from Jeep like other people online have regarding excess oil consumption. I have to now get oil changes every 1,500 miles… the oil light doesn’t come on, instead, every time I go to make a turn. The car turns off while driving or stalls. Very dangerous.
Two speed power transfer unit failure. It's been since July 1, 2025 y car has been unable to drive. The ptu unit went out on the highway going 65 mph and immediately lost control of having power to the gas pedal and had to pull over quickly on the highway. They still have not developed the remedy, and are withholding money from rental reimbursement.
Component: power transfer unit (ptu). Jeep has issued a recall for the same year and model as my 2019 Cherokee, but my VIN is not included in the recall. However, the power transfer unit is failing as verified by the Jeep dealership. This appears to be a manufacturing defect identical to those listed under the recall. The warning that lead me to take it to the shop said 4wd not available service required. I would like my vehicle to be added to the recall list for this issue. Nhtsa campaign number: 25v011. Jeep’s own number for this recall is 01c.
Ptu.
I was driving one day and stopped at a stop light. I go to accelerate as the light changes, the vehicle moves forward a little then stops moving. The battery stayed on but it would no longer move or rev. So I was left stranded in the middle of the stop light. Thankfully a cop came by and helped me push to a safer spot. I then had to have the vehicle towed to the nearest pepboys. After their initial inspection they were thinking it was a transmission issue but they do not work on them there so I then had to get it towed again to my house until I could figure out what I should do. After my own investigation then later confirming with the Jeep dealership, we’ve determined the symptoms are related to the defective part. I’ve called several times to the manufacturer and recall team and both can only offer an apology and that nobody knows anything right now. Thanfully the dealership on their own offered me a loaner vehicle. But the manufacturer isn’t proving much assistance. I still owe on paying this Jeep so this has not only put my safety at risk but also is impacting me finally and trying to make a living. How can I pay for a vehicle that doesn’t work and nobody knows how they will fix it. . This is ridiculous and something needs to happen.
The infotainment screen in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee intermittently shuts off while driving. This occurs unexpectedly and has happened multiple times, sometimes while using navigation or the backup camera. On several occasions, the screen has turned completely blue and remained unresponsive for several minutes. The screen controls audio, climate, and safety features, and its failure creates distractions and limits access to key vehicle functions. This issue occurs randomly and has not been resolved. I brought the vehicle to a dealership, and was told that unless there is a recall, there is little they can do beyond basic troubleshooting. I have not received any warning messages or error codes related to this issue. The problem appears to stem from either a software malfunction or a hardware issue with the uconnect system. The component is available for inspection upon request. This screen failure impacts visibility and access to controls, creating a potential safety risk.
Several times while sitting at a red light or stop sign, the emergency brake automatically engaged and the vehicle wouldn't move. All three times, before I could put the vehicle in park and crank it back up, the traffic behind me was honking and trying to go around me - which could have caused a wreck. Just this morning, while driving to work, my vehicle died while I was going about 55mph. The dash dinged, an error message that said vehicle not in park flashed on the dash screen, then all of the dash lights lit up like christmas. Then my vehicle died - I had no power. After about 3 seconds, all of the lights went out except for the check engine and the battery light. The speedometer and the rpms immediately dropped to 0, but the vehicle was still moving. I was on a road with no shoulder and traffic behind me and I had to pull over in someone's yard to get out of the way of the traffic. That was very scary and could have killed me if I had been on the interstate or a busier highway. When I was able to safely pull off the main road, I put it in park, and it cranked right up and the dash lights went away. I am having to put it in the shop because I am too scared to drive it anymore. This problem really needs to be addressed as it is all over the internet. There are a lot of consumers dealing with this same issue.
Ptu unit having same issues as other Jeeps with recalls.
The stop start system has been malfunctioning ever since shortly after I purchased the car. When I purchased the car, my father and I asked for a printout of the carfax history to ensure we weren't buying a '"lemon". There was no information reflecting that the 2019 Jeep Cherokee lattitude 2. 4 2wd had been serviced for anything other than routine car maintenance. The carfax reflected that the previous owner took care of the car, propelling us to seal the deal, otherwise we would've kept looking if there were any found issues. It wasn't until I attempted to get my car serviced at gettel the first time it malfunctioned that I learned it had been brought to their service department numerous times before it even reached 100 miles. They refused to work on it because the warranty had just expired recently, not even a whole year after buying the car (of course) and handed me a piece of paper with the recalls and services regarding the stop/start system. At this point I had to just repair it myself. Fast forward to the second time it malfunctioned: I was in traffic and preparing to slow down to turn when the wheels, brakes, and steering locked up, parking brake turned on and the whole car shut off causing a small collision. The other driver understood what happened and claimed the same thing happened to his wife, therefore he hates stop/start vehicles. He made me promise to never buy another electrical car, charged it to the game and drove away. Fast forward again to currently, now the third time my car broke down: while sitting at a light, it was still running, but as I lifted my foot from the brake pedal the car shut down. There was no indication of anything wrong with the car (s. N. None of the lights on the dash have ever lit up since I bought it). I contacted gettel via google review and now they want to do something about this death trap they sold me because I made my situation public. P. S. When I search my VIN# on this site, a completely different car pops up?.
We were notified earlier this year regarding recall number 25v-011. When we checked then, a repair was being investigated. It has been several months and the recall is still categorized as "recall incomplete, remedy not yet available. " we also tried to identify with the local dealer the possible severity of the failure but could not get a definite answer. According to the recall, the fault could cause " an unexpected loss of motive power or loss of park function while stationary" with no further explanation. The risk is listed as "a vehicle crash without prior warning". Would the loss of motive power be the simple failure to transfer the engine power to the wheels? or more severe option of one or more drive shafts becoming disconnected and causing the vehicle to roll when it contacts the road? if so, the vehicle is not safe to be driven at highway speeds. The local dealer was unwilling to escalate our concerns or provide any assurance of safe operation on the highway. So far, we have not noticed any issues related to the recall but have not driven significantly outside the local community.
I took my Jeep in 2 months ago for an oil change and routine systems check. I was informed that the rear-end differential had excessive play and was failing. There were no prior warning signs or alarms to alert me. After only 75,000 miles, the rear-end differential is failing. I have taken in the Jeep to a Jeep dealer and they performed an inspection and confirmed the failure. The dealer stated specifically that it was due manufacturing error. Both the dealer and two different repair services confirmed that it cannot be repaired and must be replaced. The vehicle is unsafe to drive in it's current condition. However, a replacement part cannot be obtained as thousands of people are waiting on replacements.
I have a diagnosed ptu failure in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk it has 55k on the vehicle. The vehicle is not safe to drive in the michigan winter, and I have contacted my Jeep dealer who said there is nothing they could do.
The service 4wd light went on. It was diagnosed as a faulty power transfer unit. There is a recall for my make , model and year but not my VIN#.
My 2019 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk elite has had a recall on the ptu for some time now with no remedy in the near future. Serious safety issues are at stake. This recall may cause a crash without warning due to loss of motive power. Also, loss of park function can cause vehicle to cause injury or death as well while outside the vehicle. How can mopar not have to fix this in a timely manner? how it this not illegal? I still have to finish paying the money I owe on something that isn't worth more than the amount I can get for the metal I can scrap from it. Jeep knew about this in my 2014 Cherokee, unfortunately I bought another one. 12/2023 canada was aware. It took until January 2025 for us to be formerly informed of a recall. I get warning lights and transmission seems to be in neutral at times.
Ptu is malfunctioning and cause my 4 wheel drive to no longer operate and it’s an all wheel drive vehicle. Dash light has “service 4 wheel drive” and error message states not available. There is a safety recall for a pin that could cause damage to the ptu and there is no solution from the manufacturer on this 6 yr old vehicle.
The svc 4wd light stays on and the power transfer unit makes a horrible noise. It is the same symptoms as the recall of the 2017-2019s, but somehow, my car does not fall under the recall. The car only has 52521 miles on it and is treated very well. There is no reason that this should have broke.
On a regular basis (at least 1 x daily) I will be driving my 2019 Jeep Cherokee, and when I stop at a light, stop sign, parking spot, or the start/stop component turns off the engine, the power to my vehicle completely fails. The vehicle will turn off completely. The dash panel, radio, everything will completely turn off. This has caused me to be stuck in the middle of the street, and it also has happened in the parking garage of my job, causing me to hit the wall next to a parking spot. There are no warning lights when this happens, there is no check engine light that come on after. I have taken it to a mechanic and since there is no check engine light on the dash panel, the obd is not able to pull up any codes. Due to this issue, I have disabled the start/stop component on my Jeep to see if it helps the issue, but it does not seem to help.
The instrument screen on our trialhawk went dark. We cannot see anything in terms of what is going on with the vehicle. This is for other Jeeps that a recall has been called, but it's not showing up for ours.
The car would jerk forward randomly while increasing speed. This happens at least once every few months. Also, the car would randomly cut off while at a stop light. This has happened twice. I've owned the car for 3 years and have regular maintenance.
Unknown I have had the vehicle act as if it wanted to shut down. Received notice of recall and the safety hazard. Have contacted dealership to inquire about remedy 30 days after the recall with very little information given at this time. I was told no parts. Along with no clue to a potential date to fix the safety issue.
I was driving our 2020 newmar baystar #3609 motorhome and towing our 2019 Jeep Cherokee. In 2021, I had the blue ox tow bar, 10k rated along with the blue ox base plate installed at a RV dealer in mead, wa. We have had no issues at all with this tow system during the last 4 years, we have never drove "off road", backed the unit up with our Jeep attached or abused the two system in any way. We had driven 6 hours from pensacola, FL heading to the mayport naval station. While on a secondary road approaching the base, I felt a tug on the motorhome. I checked my mirrors and saw our Jeep tracking to the passenger side and now not directly behind our motorhome. I pulled over and luckily there was no damage to our motorhome, our Jeep or any other property. I saw the passenger side base plate had failed. While examining the piece that had broken off, I noted the area where the "weld" was supposed to be didn't look right. It almost looks like the entire area that should have been welded to the base plate was spotty at best. I have reached out to blue ox customer service requesting they reimburse for a new set of base plates and the normal labor now to install them. I'm being quoted 4 hours labor which is more that the base plates. I'm glad the remaining base plate held, or our Jeep would have detached completely and even with the emergency break away attached, the likelihood of damaging persons or property would have been high. I took photos of the failed base plate and will keep both parts in the event they need to be examined by a competent person.
There is still no remedy for current recall on my Jeep. This is my only vehicle and I have a young child. How am I supposed to feel safe driving to even just the grocery store for basic needs when there is an ongoing safety recall. I'm just at a loss of what to do.
On 12/30/2024, I received a “4wd svc” light on the dashboard of my 2019 Jeep Cherokee (odometer reading 61,000). Upon a quick google search, this is a very common problem with the Jeep Cherokee’s power transfer unit. I took my Jeep in to be diagnosed at an independent service center (1/3/2025), where it was confirmed that my vehicle was reading a code: c14a7-97 (ptu motor component, or system operation obstructed, or blocked). It has been noted that the ptu failure can result in a loss of power to the front wheels, potentially causing reduced traction, difficulty turning, and noticeable noises like grinding or knocking, especially when turning, due to the malfunctioning gears inside the unit; in severe cases, the front wheels might completely lock up depending on the nature of the failure. My vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representative; however, a google search indicates that there is an ongoing class action investigation (saunder, schelkopf - attorneys at law) for ptu failures in 2019-2022 Jeep Cherokee’s.
My car have been having an issue with starting so I changed the battery and a couple of days later my car would not start. And this has been since December 26 2024. And my car haven't started since. Everytime I had to hit the brake a message would come up saying to check the electrical stability thing.
4 wheel drive system failure and dashboard warning light has been on since late 2024! took it to a Jeep dealer. They specified a problem with the ptu upon inspection. The part was unavailable for repair. Through the mopar website, my Jeep has been recalled for this problem since Jan 2025. There is still no fix as of 12/3/25!!!! I phoned dealer to see if it could be repaired as per the recall. . . They tell me they cannot help me and to call Chrysler. Ridiculous. Please advise!! I do not want to experience further damage to my car and unexpected motor loss as the recall states. . . And I want my 4wd working again as it greatly helps with car control in wet situations and I often travel through mountains (snow). Thank you for your time and assistance.
While idling in my child's school drop off line, I was in park with car running, I stepped on the brake to put the car into gear to move forward and the car stalled and wouldn't start back up until about 1-2 minutes later. No lights were lit up once I restarted the car. This happened one other time and we thought it was the battery, but not we are rethinking it wasn't the battery.
My vehicle is leaking in the front and passenger seat and my emergency brake comes on and I can't disengage it unless I stop the car and turn it off and back on. Sometimes it takes 2 times to do this. In November, twice I was merging into traffic going 45 miles per hour and it happened. I prayed I wouldn't get smashed. I turned the car off and back on and I was able to disengage the emergency brake. On 1/3/2025, it happened as I was backing out of my driveway onto traffic. I had to turn the car on and off 2 times before I could disengage the emergency brake. I was lucky no vehicles traveling on the road. There is a terrible sound and then the car bucks and you are jarred. I read about an investigation on this same issue back in July 2022. My dealer says until they can replicate the problem they can't fix it. Please help!.
While the car was in motion, the car slowed almost to a complete stop & the check engine light came on, along with the alert “service electronic stability control”. When pressing on the gas, almost no power was present. Vehicle barely moves. This has happened several times in the last 4 weeks. The first time on 11/12/2024, the most recent time 12/4/2024. The throttle was replaced, but the incident repeated. The vehicle also occasionally rolls when it is put in park.
My svc 4wd light came on in November of 2024. Took it to the dealer same month, they said my ptu failed and they couldn't do anything for it bc the parts were jot available. They weren't available on back order even. I paid for $130 dollars just to be told that they couldn't do anything. While at the dealer after they told me this news I went and talked to a salesmen, they told me they couldn't take the Jeep in on trade bc they don't know when they could get the part so they would loose money with it sitting. Recall came out on this in January 2025 and it now is February of 2026. . I'm still waiting. The car is unstable and is basically worthless and a death trap in rain and is worse in snow. I got offered a rental out of my own pocket. I'm still making payments on this and I can't even fix it. The cars going to kill me and then what. Nothing. I was told in November of 2025 that they were hoping to have this fixed by the end of the year. Well it's February and nothing, I think they are just lieing. People are going to get hurt or killed bc of the stability.
The 4wd light came in November 2024. When taken to the dealer I was told it was probably the power transfer unit as they have been replacing a lot of them. And upon inspection it was the ptu. This problem was verified as being common and a recall issued shortly after my vehicle got a new ptu. My VIN is not under the recall and I am being told there is nothing they can do. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that my vehicle has the same defect the others have and I think they need to look broader at the vehicles included in the recall. In may 2025 (just 6 months later), the rear differential went out with no warning or lights at all. There was a noise and by the time we got it to repair shop they said they don’t know how we even got it there as the rear differential exploded. This could have been a very dangerous situation. The rear differential goes hand in hand with the power transfer unit so it is very probable this happened due to the faulty ptu. Please help get Jeep to acknowledge the problem is a wider scope then initially thought so when they have a fix my vehicle can be included.
For over a year, my svc 4wdrive light continues to be on. I received a ptu recall notice a year ago with a recall with no fix at the time. I had the dealership look at the issue with he service light always turning on at random times. They informed it was related to the recall and the vehicle was still okay to drive. When I use 4w drive the svc light comes in on addition to randomly coming on at all seasons of the year when I am driving. I recently received my recall fix notice and took the vehicle back to the dealership (3/4/26). After hooking it up, it was determined that my code was "close", but not an exact match. The ptu/svc indicator light would still need to be taken care of, but now it would be at a cost to me. Please explain how this is acceptable when the issue still needs to be fixed but does not qualify under the recall?.
I could not get out of the driver's side of the car. I was the driver and tried to leave the vehicle, it would not let me. Something wrong with the door handle. Window does work on driver's side; but not the handle to open car door to exit. If I or anyone else in my situation was in an accident, I would not be able to get out on my own without emergency personnel help. Only day to take it to original dealership is next tues. [xxx]. [xxx]and had to climb over the middle console to exit front passenger door. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I've been advised that the cover over the rear differential is cracked and that the entire differential needs to be replaced. It seems illogical that the cover protecting a rear differential on a Jeep vehicle would be of a material that would crack when the vehicle has not been driven under extreme conditions. Both drivers have been and are currently [xxx] and have not had any citations. My residence is on a dirt road and some of my travel is on dirt roads however the appropriate care is taken. The vehicle is a 2019 with approximately 32,000 miles which indicates that the yearly mileage is low. I would appreciate consideration that the material used for the cover is faulty and that I should not be subject to the expense of replacing it and the rear differential. Fortunately it is not providing problems at this time and I have contacted the dealer to get it repaired/replaced. But I truly feel that this is faulty equipment on a Jeep. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
