Failure Date: 08/11/2025

The car shut off again in the middle of the road, this really needs to be addressed.

37 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2025

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? unknown; believe it may be something with the suspension or possibly the transmission. Their is a chirping sound when making a low speed (15 mph or so) turn more prominent when making turn up a hill. Sounds can also sometimes be replicated when letting off the accelerator and getting back on it again which is why I believe may be a transmission issue. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? unknown has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? it has not yet been reported. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? I did have the service awd light illuminate a while ago but it shut off when vehicle was restarted.

38 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2025

My 2019 Jeep Cherokee latitude plus is currently inoperable due to a failed power transfer unit (ptu). The local authorized Jeep dealership confirmed that the ptu has failed and that the replacement part is no longer being manufactured or available anywhere in the u. S. This is a well known defect for this type of vehicle. The dealership informed me that there is no repair option at this time and that there is no timeline for when my vehicle may eventually be added to the recall batch list. Stellantis customer care has acknowledged the problem but denied my request for a buyback, citing vehicle mileage and age, even though the defect renders the car unsafe and undrivable. The ptu failure can cause a sudden and total loss of power to the wheels while driving, which poses a significant safety risk to the driver and others on the road. Before the complete failure, I noticed grinding noises, steering wheel jerking during acceleration, and the vehicle would not shift gears. The failure was confirmed by the dealer, and the vehicle remains at their facility. I am requesting that Jeep or stellantis provide a dealer-assisted trade credit (trade assist or goodwill adjustment) to help me transition into a functional vehicle. I continue to make loan payments on a vehicle that cannot be driven or repaired through no fault of my own. This situation leaves me stranded with a financed vehicle that is unsafe, unrepairable, and unsupported by the manufacturer.

39 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/06/2025

I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee, on August 6th around 545am, while on highway 70e in maryland, my transfer case completely seperated itself (per repair shop). I immediately pulled over, there was lots of smoke. Roadside assistance towed my vehicle to repair shop. Repair shop and Jeep dealership have told me that the transfer case won't be in for approximately 2 months, due to the large quantity on order for the 2019 Jeep recall, however my VIN was not on this recall and clearly this is a known issue. Since this is a known issue, and so many being on order, why is my VIN not apart of the recall and since it just completely separated causing a huge sudden safety issue, what needs to be done to add this to the recall?.

40 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/29/2025

Delamination of the console screen. Due to this delamination the vehicle has "ghost" called s. O. S. (911) and other people multiple times. It frequently changes radio stations (not a big deal) while driving on the highway has put the rear view camera on screen randomly. Which has been a very scary distraction. It has also changed from a/c to heat (also not a big deal) the biggest safety issues are the dialing of 911 and the rear view camera turning on. This will happen even if I turn off the screen completely. I have brought this by a dealer. They say it is a common issue. I have also brought it by a private auto mechanic. They also say it is common, but that its not usually as bad. I first noticed the delamination when I purchased the vehicle at a dealer, I thought it was just the screen protector lifting. It has progressively gotten worse. There are multiple reports on this when I have googled the issue. There have been multiple times this has happened. I will put the most recent of dates, because that was the worst, and I haven't driven it since, since I'm afraid of having an accident.

41 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2025

Car shuts off, once while in the middle of a turn almost went off road and couldn’t use brake or turn wheel. There were three other times it shut off at red lights and I have to put car in park and press the start button. Two of those times car had just started with oil light, was told that it is linked to the oil and to always keep it full until recall is issued. However yesterday on my way to work with full oil it shut off again. I then did my regular way to fix it and kept driving to work, out of nowhere my car starts only being able to drive up to 29 miles per hour I’m just about to get on the highway so I pull over and have to shut off again fixing the problem. This seems incredibly dangerous due to it also when having this shut off issue a notice on my car says service 4wd unavailable. We live in new england the snow can be pretty bad. This car feels unsafe, I hope you realize this model has many issues and will address them, thank you!.

42 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2025

Found rear axle assembly has locked up, terrible binding noise when trying to move. Found rear axle to be low on fluid and burnt up. Needs new rear axle assembly. . . . Remove and replace rear axle assembly note rear axle assembly is on back order since 8/2025. Unable to drive or get repaired. Making car payments without the ability to use. This vehicle has a "special gear ratio" that is not available. Due to the back order, price of replacement part continues to rise due to the lack of availability and demand. There has been no confirmation on when this part will be available.

43 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2025

The ptu needs to be replaced at 83,000 miles. A message appeared on the dashboard and a diagnostic by a dealership confirmed it is the ptu.

44 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2025

I am writing to express my deep frustration and concern regarding the unresolved recall on my Jeep vehicle, which has rendered it unsafe and undrivable. Despite my repeated efforts, I have received no meaningful support or communication from stellantis. Here are the details: recall status: the vehicle is subject to an open recall (issued in January 2025), for which a remedy is still unavailable. Dealership diagnosis: on or around July 15, 2025, I took my vehicle to a certified Jeep dealership due to warning messages and irregular driving behavior. The dealership confirmed the vehicle is exhibiting symptoms directly associated with the recall and advised me to park the vehicle immediately for safety reasons. Stellantis communication breakdown: I contacted stellantis on July 15, 2025, and was informed a case manager would reach out. As of today, I have received no follow-up communication. When I attempt to call, I am either disconnected or transferred to a voicemail with no response. There is no direct way to reach the case manager, and I am forced to call repeatedly with no resolution. Impact on my life: I have been without a vehicle since July 15. I rely on my car to get to work, transport my children, and attend medical appointments. I am still responsible for monthly car payments and insurance on a vehicle that I cannot safely operate. Given the safety risk and financial burden, I am formally requesting immediate assistance in the form of a loaner vehicle or rental coverage until a recall remedy is available and the vehicle is repaired.

45 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/07/2025

Vehicle has been having driving issues such as noises and loss of power while driving. Recall for power control module, have been told they can’t give a loaner and they don’t have parts since the recall was issued (01/16/2025) was in the shop while that recall was going on (8 months actually because they couldn’t get parts) because it caused my differentials to lock up, they replaced them but vehicle has still had problems since then and was told there was nothing to be done. Warning signals come on and off when vehicle loses power, all dashboard lights cut on and off and it makes noise when shifting gears or accelerating. I have been terrified to drive it for months because it has just been getting worse and I am currently pregnant and don’t want to put my child at risk if it were to cause a wreck because I was told it could go out at anytime.

46 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2025

My 2019 Jeep Cherokee 2. 4l engine is consuming an excess amount of oil. I took it to the dealership and the only solution I was given was to replace my entire engine. I looked up recalls for this, there are none. Never received anything from Jeep like other people online have regarding excess oil consumption. I have to now get oil changes every 1,500 miles… the oil light doesn’t come on, instead, every time I go to make a turn. The car turns off while driving or stalls. Very dangerous.

47 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2025

Two speed power transfer unit failure. It's been since July 1, 2025 y car has been unable to drive. The ptu unit went out on the highway going 65 mph and immediately lost control of having power to the gas pedal and had to pull over quickly on the highway. They still have not developed the remedy, and are withholding money from rental reimbursement.

48 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/12/2025

Component: power transfer unit (ptu). Jeep has issued a recall for the same year and model as my 2019 Cherokee, but my VIN is not included in the recall. However, the power transfer unit is failing as verified by the Jeep dealership. This appears to be a manufacturing defect identical to those listed under the recall. The warning that lead me to take it to the shop said 4wd not available service required. I would like my vehicle to be added to the recall list for this issue. Nhtsa campaign number: 25v011. Jeep’s own number for this recall is 01c.

49 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/29/2025

Ptu.

50 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/24/2025

I was driving one day and stopped at a stop light. I go to accelerate as the light changes, the vehicle moves forward a little then stops moving. The battery stayed on but it would no longer move or rev. So I was left stranded in the middle of the stop light. Thankfully a cop came by and helped me push to a safer spot. I then had to have the vehicle towed to the nearest pepboys. After their initial inspection they were thinking it was a transmission issue but they do not work on them there so I then had to get it towed again to my house until I could figure out what I should do. After my own investigation then later confirming with the Jeep dealership, we’ve determined the symptoms are related to the defective part. I’ve called several times to the manufacturer and recall team and both can only offer an apology and that nobody knows anything right now. Thanfully the dealership on their own offered me a loaner vehicle. But the manufacturer isn’t proving much assistance. I still owe on paying this Jeep so this has not only put my safety at risk but also is impacting me finally and trying to make a living. How can I pay for a vehicle that doesn’t work and nobody knows how they will fix it. . This is ridiculous and something needs to happen.

51 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/23/2025

The infotainment screen in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee intermittently shuts off while driving. This occurs unexpectedly and has happened multiple times, sometimes while using navigation or the backup camera. On several occasions, the screen has turned completely blue and remained unresponsive for several minutes. The screen controls audio, climate, and safety features, and its failure creates distractions and limits access to key vehicle functions. This issue occurs randomly and has not been resolved. I brought the vehicle to a dealership, and was told that unless there is a recall, there is little they can do beyond basic troubleshooting. I have not received any warning messages or error codes related to this issue. The problem appears to stem from either a software malfunction or a hardware issue with the uconnect system. The component is available for inspection upon request. This screen failure impacts visibility and access to controls, creating a potential safety risk.

52 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2025

Several times while sitting at a red light or stop sign, the emergency brake automatically engaged and the vehicle wouldn't move. All three times, before I could put the vehicle in park and crank it back up, the traffic behind me was honking and trying to go around me - which could have caused a wreck. Just this morning, while driving to work, my vehicle died while I was going about 55mph. The dash dinged, an error message that said vehicle not in park flashed on the dash screen, then all of the dash lights lit up like christmas. Then my vehicle died - I had no power. After about 3 seconds, all of the lights went out except for the check engine and the battery light. The speedometer and the rpms immediately dropped to 0, but the vehicle was still moving. I was on a road with no shoulder and traffic behind me and I had to pull over in someone's yard to get out of the way of the traffic. That was very scary and could have killed me if I had been on the interstate or a busier highway. When I was able to safely pull off the main road, I put it in park, and it cranked right up and the dash lights went away. I am having to put it in the shop because I am too scared to drive it anymore. This problem really needs to be addressed as it is all over the internet. There are a lot of consumers dealing with this same issue.

53 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2025

Ptu unit having same issues as other Jeeps with recalls.

54 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/28/2025

The stop start system has been malfunctioning ever since shortly after I purchased the car. When I purchased the car, my father and I asked for a printout of the carfax history to ensure we weren't buying a '"lemon". There was no information reflecting that the 2019 Jeep Cherokee lattitude 2. 4 2wd had been serviced for anything other than routine car maintenance. The carfax reflected that the previous owner took care of the car, propelling us to seal the deal, otherwise we would've kept looking if there were any found issues. It wasn't until I attempted to get my car serviced at gettel the first time it malfunctioned that I learned it had been brought to their service department numerous times before it even reached 100 miles. They refused to work on it because the warranty had just expired recently, not even a whole year after buying the car (of course) and handed me a piece of paper with the recalls and services regarding the stop/start system. At this point I had to just repair it myself. Fast forward to the second time it malfunctioned: I was in traffic and preparing to slow down to turn when the wheels, brakes, and steering locked up, parking brake turned on and the whole car shut off causing a small collision. The other driver understood what happened and claimed the same thing happened to his wife, therefore he hates stop/start vehicles. He made me promise to never buy another electrical car, charged it to the game and drove away. Fast forward again to currently, now the third time my car broke down: while sitting at a light, it was still running, but as I lifted my foot from the brake pedal the car shut down. There was no indication of anything wrong with the car (s. N. None of the lights on the dash have ever lit up since I bought it). I contacted gettel via google review and now they want to do something about this death trap they sold me because I made my situation public. P. S. When I search my VIN# on this site, a completely different car pops up?.

55 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/11/2025

We were notified earlier this year regarding recall number 25v-011. When we checked then, a repair was being investigated. It has been several months and the recall is still categorized as "recall incomplete, remedy not yet available. " we also tried to identify with the local dealer the possible severity of the failure but could not get a definite answer. According to the recall, the fault could cause " an unexpected loss of motive power or loss of park function while stationary" with no further explanation. The risk is listed as "a vehicle crash without prior warning". Would the loss of motive power be the simple failure to transfer the engine power to the wheels? or more severe option of one or more drive shafts becoming disconnected and causing the vehicle to roll when it contacts the road? if so, the vehicle is not safe to be driven at highway speeds. The local dealer was unwilling to escalate our concerns or provide any assurance of safe operation on the highway. So far, we have not noticed any issues related to the recall but have not driven significantly outside the local community.

56 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2025

I took my Jeep in 2 months ago for an oil change and routine systems check. I was informed that the rear-end differential had excessive play and was failing. There were no prior warning signs or alarms to alert me. After only 75,000 miles, the rear-end differential is failing. I have taken in the Jeep to a Jeep dealer and they performed an inspection and confirmed the failure. The dealer stated specifically that it was due manufacturing error. Both the dealer and two different repair services confirmed that it cannot be repaired and must be replaced. The vehicle is unsafe to drive in it's current condition. However, a replacement part cannot be obtained as thousands of people are waiting on replacements.

57 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2025

I have a diagnosed ptu failure in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk it has 55k on the vehicle. The vehicle is not safe to drive in the michigan winter, and I have contacted my Jeep dealer who said there is nothing they could do.

58 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2025

The service 4wd light went on. It was diagnosed as a faulty power transfer unit. There is a recall for my make , model and year but not my VIN#.

59 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/28/2025

My 2019 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk elite has had a recall on the ptu for some time now with no remedy in the near future. Serious safety issues are at stake. This recall may cause a crash without warning due to loss of motive power. Also, loss of park function can cause vehicle to cause injury or death as well while outside the vehicle. How can mopar not have to fix this in a timely manner? how it this not illegal? I still have to finish paying the money I owe on something that isn't worth more than the amount I can get for the metal I can scrap from it. Jeep knew about this in my 2014 Cherokee, unfortunately I bought another one. 12/2023 canada was aware. It took until January 2025 for us to be formerly informed of a recall. I get warning lights and transmission seems to be in neutral at times.

60 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/17/2025

Ptu is malfunctioning and cause my 4 wheel drive to no longer operate and it’s an all wheel drive vehicle. Dash light has “service 4 wheel drive” and error message states not available. There is a safety recall for a pin that could cause damage to the ptu and there is no solution from the manufacturer on this 6 yr old vehicle.

61 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/04/2025

The svc 4wd light stays on and the power transfer unit makes a horrible noise. It is the same symptoms as the recall of the 2017-2019s, but somehow, my car does not fall under the recall. The car only has 52521 miles on it and is treated very well. There is no reason that this should have broke.

62 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/28/2025

On a regular basis (at least 1 x daily) I will be driving my 2019 Jeep Cherokee, and when I stop at a light, stop sign, parking spot, or the start/stop component turns off the engine, the power to my vehicle completely fails. The vehicle will turn off completely. The dash panel, radio, everything will completely turn off. This has caused me to be stuck in the middle of the street, and it also has happened in the parking garage of my job, causing me to hit the wall next to a parking spot. There are no warning lights when this happens, there is no check engine light that come on after. I have taken it to a mechanic and since there is no check engine light on the dash panel, the obd is not able to pull up any codes. Due to this issue, I have disabled the start/stop component on my Jeep to see if it helps the issue, but it does not seem to help.

63 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/28/2025

The vehicle experienced a failure of the power transfer unit (ptu) associated with the 4wd system. Prior to the failure, the 4wd warning light illuminated on the dashboard, indicating a malfunction within the drivetrain. The condition progressed and was diagnosed as an internal ptu failure. The issue was confirmed by jacksonville Chrysler Jeep Dodge, which determined that the ptu had failed internally and required full replacement. This failure could have affected the vehicle’s ability to properly transfer power to all four wheels, increasing the risk of loss of traction or control, particularly during wet or slippery road conditions. A sudden loss or reduction of 4wd capability presents a potential safety concern. The problem was reproduced and confirmed by the dealership during inspection. The ptu was replaced due to the internal failure. It is unknown if the failed component is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle was not inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives (unknown). The 4wd warning light appeared prior to the failure, indicating a developing issue before the component ultimately failed. Based on the nature of the failure and the need for full replacement of the ptu, this appears to be a significant drivetrain defect rather than normal wear. Similar failures may be occurring in other vehicles with the same system, which could indicate a broader issue affecting vehicle safety.

64 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/27/2025

The instrument screen on our trialhawk went dark. We cannot see anything in terms of what is going on with the vehicle. This is for other Jeeps that a recall has been called, but it's not showing up for ours.

65 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2025

The car would jerk forward randomly while increasing speed. This happens at least once every few months. Also, the car would randomly cut off while at a stop light. This has happened twice. I've owned the car for 3 years and have regular maintenance.

66 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2025

Unknown I have had the vehicle act as if it wanted to shut down. Received notice of recall and the safety hazard. Have contacted dealership to inquire about remedy 30 days after the recall with very little information given at this time. I was told no parts. Along with no clue to a potential date to fix the safety issue.

67 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2025

I was driving our 2020 newmar baystar #3609 motorhome and towing our 2019 Jeep Cherokee. In 2021, I had the blue ox tow bar, 10k rated along with the blue ox base plate installed at a RV dealer in mead, wa. We have had no issues at all with this tow system during the last 4 years, we have never drove "off road", backed the unit up with our Jeep attached or abused the two system in any way. We had driven 6 hours from pensacola, FL heading to the mayport naval station. While on a secondary road approaching the base, I felt a tug on the motorhome. I checked my mirrors and saw our Jeep tracking to the passenger side and now not directly behind our motorhome. I pulled over and luckily there was no damage to our motorhome, our Jeep or any other property. I saw the passenger side base plate had failed. While examining the piece that had broken off, I noted the area where the "weld" was supposed to be didn't look right. It almost looks like the entire area that should have been welded to the base plate was spotty at best. I have reached out to blue ox customer service requesting they reimburse for a new set of base plates and the normal labor now to install them. I'm being quoted 4 hours labor which is more that the base plates. I'm glad the remaining base plate held, or our Jeep would have detached completely and even with the emergency break away attached, the likelihood of damaging persons or property would have been high. I took photos of the failed base plate and will keep both parts in the event they need to be examined by a competent person.

Failure Date: 01/01/2025

There is still no remedy for current recall on my Jeep. This is my only vehicle and I have a young child. How am I supposed to feel safe driving to even just the grocery store for basic needs when there is an ongoing safety recall. I'm just at a loss of what to do.

69 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/30/2024

On 12/30/2024, I received a “4wd svc” light on the dashboard of my 2019 Jeep Cherokee (odometer reading 61,000). Upon a quick google search, this is a very common problem with the Jeep Cherokee’s power transfer unit. I took my Jeep in to be diagnosed at an independent service center (1/3/2025), where it was confirmed that my vehicle was reading a code: c14a7-97 (ptu motor component, or system operation obstructed, or blocked). It has been noted that the ptu failure can result in a loss of power to the front wheels, potentially causing reduced traction, difficulty turning, and noticeable noises like grinding or knocking, especially when turning, due to the malfunctioning gears inside the unit; in severe cases, the front wheels might completely lock up depending on the nature of the failure. My vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representative; however, a google search indicates that there is an ongoing class action investigation (saunder, schelkopf - attorneys at law) for ptu failures in 2019-2022 Jeep Cherokee’s.

70 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/26/2024

My car have been having an issue with starting so I changed the battery and a couple of days later my car would not start. And this has been since December 26 2024. And my car haven't started since. Everytime I had to hit the brake a message would come up saying to check the electrical stability thing.
