Two issues with my car, first the transmission failed while driving 70 mph. The car messaged "service transmission immediately" and began to decelerate. I had no control of this process. The abs light came on and luckily I made it off the road. Secondly and independently the brakes make a loud grinding noise when the abs is engaged. The dealer was perplexed by both issues. Cannot tell me what is wrong and assures me my car is acting normally.

I think my Jeep is remotely bugged somehow, abs light comes on and my brakes work, abs light goes out and my brakes make noise and pedal goes down further like I have no brakes. Also, temperature gauge is steady then suddenly it goes up and down. I have checked fluids, had brakes inspected (replaced pads and front rotors) I went to police said they had no way of testing for bugs.

The car completely shuts down with no indication or warning while driving, steering wheel locks. Immediately after shutting down the brake (however the gear is in drive) and battery light displays. I take gear out of drive and put it in park, wait a minute or two at times right in the middle of residential street or the end of a turn but it always occur while the car is in motion. I have to crank the ignition several times while tapping down on the gas pedal until the engine starts, hit the brake release, put gear back in drive or at times neutral then back in drive in order to move. This occurrence happened a few times before repairs and about two or three times daily after transmission repairs, and software updates. When pushing down on brakes to make a stop the car will accelerate (as if it's confused whether to stop or go, although I'm pressing the brake to stop) before coming to a complete stop. When backing up or switching gears it's a forceful loud jerk between shifting gears. While driving out of the blue the windshield wipers came on (no rain) and I was not able to disable them . I pulled over on the shoulder and turned the car off waiting a moment before restarting they continued to go back and forth on a dry window they stop on their own about 20 minutes later. Speedometer blanking in and out. Car burning excessive amounts of gas. Prior to engine shut down no indication or warning messages however after repairs of transmission and software updates the engine, throttle, abs lights, and transmission service message appear and disappear simultaneously when the car is running as expected. Tire pressure display inconsistent.
Brakes totally fail, I was unable to stop vehicle safely. No warning, the dashboard check abs light comes on after brake failure. Dealer gave me the run-around when I asked them to check the brakes previously.
Went out to go somewhere and it had a hard time starting. As I began to drive down the road my Jeep started to backfire, all of a sudden it cut off and the steering wheel locked up and the lights went out it was dark so I could of been injured. When I got it to crank back my abs light has been on ever since and we have bought about 5 hundred dollars in parts and tried everything we no to do even the macanics we have asked about it have no answers for us, we can't afford to buy another vehicle and knowone want's to buy it from us because of all of the problems we have had with our Jeep!.

The contact owns a 1989 Jeep grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the abs warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he attempted to stop the vehicle but the brakes failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the brake actuator piston assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 96v260000 (service brakes, hydraulic ) but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.
Abs lights come on and stay on. Abs activates on dry pavement. When brakes are applied they don't hold. Dealer replaced the right rear wheel sensor, however problem still occurs.
When driving at 60 to 65 mph, the abs light keeps coming on, and the consumer has to pull off the highway and try to get the abs light to go off. The dealer fixed the abs light, and the vehicle was serviced twice and they can't determine the problem.
