Windshield Problems of Jeep Cherokee

The contact's granddaughter owns a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while his granddaughter was at a stand still at a railroad crossing, the rear windshield shattered independently without impact. The contact stated he was not aware of any warning light was illuminated. The driver called the police department and filed a police report. The contact stated no one was injured nor seek medical attention. The driver was able to continue to drive to her residence. The contact spoke to the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The contact stated an independent mechanic came to her residence and informed the rear defroster on the windshield overheated and burned the cables which caused the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.

2015 Jeep Cherokee. Consumer writes in regards to concerns that the exterior lights darken 70% of windshield visibility. The consumer stated the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated the vehicle operated as designed.

SUV's heater/ac malfunctioned so that there is no heat. There is ac, but no defrost is available. The part broke and the heater has not been functioning since. I am still trying to fix the problem. I bought an auxiliary heater to defrost the driver's side windshield.

We have had two broken windshields in our Jeep commander and now are about to fix our third broken windshield. Even the smallest stone breaks the windshield. We think it is be cause of the angle of the windshield. This seems very dangerous and has been extremely costly. We are satisfied with the car except for this major defect.

After a heavy rainfall, my wife and I proceed to make a right turn at the corn of our street and received down pouring of water the left side of my body, while my wife on the right side after making a left turn at another corner. Reported to the dealer, who checked it out, and told us that it was the door seal on the drivers side. Another day I returned with the same problem, now they say it was the sky light window seal. 05/04/00. Seal ordered but not warranted. I must pay . Part oreded and repairing in progress even as I type. Just thought you would like to no. No damage to either me nor my wife.

I feel it is necessary to report an incident with the potential for death. The rear windows in this vehicle can close with such force that it can strangle, decapitate, suffocate or collapse the airway of a child. My child almost died as a result of an inadvertant closing of the window with the child's head sticking out of the window while parked. Garage doors have a safety mechanism to prevent crushing or death, why not auto windows! I will be forwarding my concerns to the detroit free press. Please respond.

On normal weather conditions, when entering the vehicle and closing the front passenger side front door, the rear quarter panel window on the driver's side exploded.

Window blade fell of front shield due to a clip being improperly installed, three months later the window regulator failed, causing window to fall. Nlm.

Grinding ticking sound and gas leaks. Dealer said the tank warped and the noise came from read differential bearings. Water leaks from windshield.

While the vehicle was parked the side window on the right passenger's side shattered, cause unknown. Consumer states window shattered as the front door on dirver's side was closed.

Passenger side window is leaking.

Flooding water is entering driver's side of vehicle. Also, ice is forming on inside of windshield. Consumer has contacted dealer. All 4 goodyear wrangler tires with less than 13000 miles had to be replaced. Consumer states that the service manager will not return the calls concerning making an appointment to have vehicle fixed, dealer is requesting that consumer pay for all repairs, labor, and parts.
