During commute to work, vehicle shifting in a jerky manner and rpms are high and erratic for speed of vehicle. At 10:00, when driving to a meeting, when first putting Jeep into gear, the gear display "d" disappeared and "4" was in its place, concerning me that the overdrive went out (I've already had a solenoid pack replaced due to the overdrive "going out" - happened about 2 years ago). Vehicle did not want to move forward as I was attempting to pull out onto the street. Fortunately, it moved forward and I reached my destination. During commute home, about 5 miles into my drive on the toll road, the check engine light came on and the engine stalled. Had to pull over to the side of the road, place in park, turn off ignition switch, turn back on, and resumed my commute home.
