Adaptive Equipment Problems of Jeep Commander

After a few minutes car will shut off. Im at a stop sign it shuts off, I am yielding to oncoming traffic it shuts off. The vehicle revs up in park.

The door handle on my Jeep Commander is cracking. My son went to open his door and his fingers got caught on the crack part of the door handle and we could not get his fingers out without him suffering.

At the south padre island I got stuck in the middle of no where do to my 4x4 transfer case not engaging on low gear. I checked the internet and found out that a lot of people are having this issue do to an update by the dealer n23 to Jeep Commanders, before this update my Commander always worked perfectly. I got concerned do to having my family with me, wife and two children 9 and 11. I am going tomorrow to the Jeep car dealer to fix this issue.

The engine turned over several times but would not start. Had car towed to my mechanic. Valve six of the hemi engine (5. 7 liter) was destroyed beyond repair due to a loosened valve seat. Had to have engine replaced at a cost of about $7500. 00.

I took my car to the recall to get the reflash in may of last year. When the winter came I tried using my 4 wheel drive and the "service 4 wheel drive" error. Fix this!.

Apparently there is/was a defect in either the design or production of the door handle assembly in the 2006 Jeep Commanders. The plastic housing which contains the door opening mechanism becomes too brittle and cracks rendering the opening mechanism inoperable. On my Commander all but one door is affected. At the moment, only two out of the four doors work, the front-side passenger and the driver-side rear. If this vehicle was in an accident in which there was a need to exit quickly (fire or water), the lives of my family would be in extreme jeopardy. Drain tubes leak into vehicle thru upper hand grab and under dash due to routing of tubes. . . They clog very easy and vehicle owners cannot see them or have knowledge of them until a heavy rain leaves the car flooded. Most likely eroding wires under dash and causing mold in carpet.
