When we first got the car it was working like any normal car, however, after less than a month we started to notice a lot of change. The first problem we started to see was the whole screen turned off we are able to play music but only radio station that was saved. We are unable to tune/seek to a new radio station. Then we started to notice during the rainy season that water would enter into our car. After many tries of solving this issue, it is still happening to our car. The section where the petals are always wet and we have closed the sunroof and the cover but, nothing seems to work. Now today the check engine turn on and also the oil in the dashboard behind the steering wheel. We are worried about the safety of the car and hope to see changes soon from you. Thank you for reading the issue we constantly face.

1st my car has been having starting issues. The fuel pump was changed twice and that's not the issue. It seems to be coming from the wiring heading into the fuse panel in the engine. When I move it around it starts sometimes. And also when I put black tape around the wires it seems to correct the issues for weeks at a time. The problem is u never know when its gonna start or not. Now my engine, traction control and esp/bas warning lights are coming on. When that happens the transmission starts going haywire and feels like its only running on 1 gear plus when I reverse it feels like something grinds in the gears. However when those warning lights go off everything seems to go back to normal. Recently all the warning lights came on and the transmission over temp warning came on and my ac stopped blowing cold air and shortly after the car stalled in traffic on the highway. Thank god I was able to restart it but then it felt like the car drove all the way home using 2nd gear only in the automatic transmission. From reading other issues people are having online its obvious this model is having major electrical issues that no one seems to be able to correct. I am a Jeep lover but this model has completely made it difficult on me since its my only car and its so unreliable. I don't have the means to replace it right now so this situation has been unfortunate for me.
Electrical problem sometimes when I start the Jeep my radio will not come on it won't come until I cut it off and started it back up sometimes it take 2-4 starts. Water problem I have water coming in on the passenger side floor board every time a hard rain comes. Can't find where it comes from. Looked on youtube about 6 people had the same problem with the same kind of Jeep Commander. 2008. This has been going on for 8 year on and off some. I bought the Jeep in 2009 the 1st year it leaked a puddle the next year it didn't leak as bad I thought I was leaving the window down but, I was not it is coming in from the sunroof tray somehow I believe get full and leaks down in on the passger side floor borard. A lot of 2008 Jeep owners are having the same problem. Chrysler need to do something about it too many people are on youtube complain about the same thing it should be a recall on them.

My 2008 Jeep Commander will not start. I still have power to my radio, power locks and seats, lights work. The battery and alternator have both been checked and are running fine. The truck will start if it is jumped. I have been doing some research and I have found many people with the same issues. Turns out it is the solenoid wire which apparently has poor weather proofing and corrodes after some time. Now I need to bring it in and pay for this fix out of pocket so that I have a source of transportation for my family. There really needs to be a recall on this issue, seeing as how there are so many people having the same problem. Please refer to this site, where I found all this information. . Read more...
My car started twice and then cut off. After the 3rd time it did nothing. No dash light radio or anything will work. The headlights and interior lights work so battery is fine. The key will not lock or unlock the doors.
Vehicle would not start. Radio and head lights will go on. All you would hear is a click. Checked battery and still will not start. Took it to a mechanic and they did a diagnostic and nothing showed up. The mechanic had it for a two days and it started. They could not find anything wrong with vehicle. The incident happened twice. Looked on line and noticed other people had same problem with vehicle not starting. Also, having water come in through the side door handles. I'm not the only person with these problems. No wonder they discontinued this vehicle.

I opened my car driver's door one morning to find two inches of rainwater on the floor near the pedals. Unable to find the source, I put my Jeep Commander in the shop. I was charged for them fixing the leak that never got fixed. I have had everything checked out numerous times & no one can tell me how water gets in. However inconvenient, I am parking my car in parking garages every time it rains now, given there seems to be no other solution. In addition to the leak, my Commander's radio/stereo just stopped working. I can't get it to turn on or work & and am now experiencing electrical problems having to do with window controls. After researching my options I learned that too often these same exact problems appear for many if not most Commander owners. (I also reported a major problem with this car stalling in it's own complaint. ) these problems need to be analyzed by real professionals & the Jeep Commander must be recalled.
Beginning around the week of June 7th, I began experiencing issues with my Commander. I would put the key in the ignition and it wouldn't start. The lights, radio etc would come on but the car wouldn't "turn over". After a couple of attempts, it would start. The following week while driving on highway 95 in boston, the car stopped unexpectedly. I was able to make it to the side of the road and was very shaken up. I was able to start the car again and drove home. The following day it happened again while driving and I immediately called the dealership. On June 14th I had the car towed there because I was afraid to drive. I was told that I need a wireless ignition module but there were none available & Chrysler was waiting on it from the manufacturer. I was also told that there was a waiting list of approx 1,700 customers waiting for this part and several hundred, like me couldn't drive their car. I escalated to Chrysler customer service who have continued to give me the run around and as of today they have no status on the part. I have been paying for a rental car since 6/15. I did some research online and just by typing in the name of the part and found several forums where other Jeep owners are experiencing the same issue. I believe that Chrysler needs to look into tis to see if their is a larger issue or at least make the replacement parts available.
2006 Jeep Commander 4. 7l. Instrument panel lights all flash randomly on and speedometer fluctuates up and down, occasionally radio shuts off too when this cycle happens. Loss of power and car stalls without warning at low speed.
