Driver side headrest has deployed, and there was no warning or notification prior to this happening. I should not have to pay hundreds of dollars on a replacement if clips or what may it be to hold device together are faulty.

- the passenger headrest of my 2012 Jeep Compass limited deployed while the car was in motion on the highway with no reason to deploy. Yes, the component is available for inspection. - this created a distraction to the driver that could have resulted in an accident and also could have injured the passenger. - the dealer mentioned that the issue has happened to other cars, but in my case they could not help me because my car is not under warranty. They told me they could not assist and requested I call Jeep customer care. - Jeep customer care replied ""we have review the information on your case and sadly found that we are unable to offer any assistance with the head restraint repair. " - the vehicle component has not been inspected. - no warning lights, messages or symptoms of the problem.

I was hit from behind on the interstate 2 weeks ago. My Jeep Compass was stopped in heavy traffic on the interstate. A large white pickup truck hit my car first going at least 80 mph. He did not see that traffic was stopped. This caused my Jeep to roll and come to a stop on the passenger side on the ground and the driver side in the air. My airbags did deploy, but not on impact. They deployed after the Jeep came to a stop on it's side. After impact and after rolling. The airbags were not useful after the Jeep stopped moving. This needs to be addressed. I was hurt and did go to the er. I did not have any passengers, thankfully, they may not have survived that. My seatbelt held me in well, it was hard to get out of it and I have many bruises from the seatbelt. My only issue was the timing of the airbags. They were very late to deploy. Thought you should know. If this happens to others in an accident, many people will be hurt. The vehicle was only inspected by the insurance company to determine the repair costs and then declared a total loss. I am not sure if anyone else inspected the vehicle. There were no warning lights prior to the accident. I tried to upload photos, but it would not work. I do have photos and a police report from this accident.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, both the driver and passenger side rear windows would roll down independently. The contact also stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would stall as several warning lights would appear on the instrument panel. The contact called the dealer about the failure and was given an estimate for a diagnostic. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where they failed to diagnose the failure. The contact then stated that while driving in inclement, icy weather; the vehicle began to slide upon depression of the brake pedal while approaching a stop light. As the vehicle began to slide, the vehicle shut off without warning. The contact lost complete control of the vehicle as the vehicle crashed into a light pole. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact did not sustain any injuries. A police report was filed and the light pole was knocked down as a result of the impact. The vehicle was towed from the scene to the contact's grandmother's home where it remained in their possession. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
I was driving my vehicle and out of nowhere the airbag in the driver's seat exploded. The vehicle is available for inspection. I almost wrecked. The vehicle has not been inspected by thr manufacturer yet. I left a message for the service manager at my local Jeep dealership. There were no warning lights on prior to deployment.
I got t-boned and my airbags didn’t deploy and I smashed my head on the window.

This car is having tons of electrical issues. From wire malfunctions in the radio to the orc module failing. All lights for air bags, abs breaks, check engine, and everything electrical are beeping and flashing. The air bags will not work if I get in an accident and I've read they can deploy at any time while I am driving! if you look online, Chrysler/Jeep has lots of orc failure issues and have even recalled for this for it before. This issue should be covered for until at least 100k miles. Some people have had this orc module fail at as little as 18k miles. I still have 2 warranties on this car and not one covers it. Chrysler/Jeep should be responsible for fixing this. It is a risk to to peoples lives. I'm not understanding why this is still an issue in 2023 with no penalties to Chrysler/Jeep when it's been happening for over 10 years!? I'm hoping writing this will add one more person to the lost of issues Jeep has so something can be done about it.
Drivers side impact at approximately 40mph and side, floor and overhead airbags failed to deploy causing serious injury. Vehicle was parked at a stop sign when full impact occurred. There was 2 children in the rear seats and only a driver in the vehicle. There was none in the front passenger seat and only the airbag in the steering column deployed and the passenger seat airbag deployed. Airbags did not protect the children nor the driver in this impact.
The brake and abs are on. Also there is a lightning bolt that appears on the cluster. The honk does not want to work as well and it is associated with the airbag since its installed with it in the center of the steering wheel.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that there was a loud banging sound coming from the rear undercarriage while driving at various speeds. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling at a red light the start/stop system activated, causing the vehicle to turn off; however, while attempting to accelerate, the vehicle occasionally jumped or hesitated before restarting and accelerating as designed. The air bag and start/stop warning lights were intermittently illuminated. The contact stated that the main control board computer screen was glitching and went completely black. The contact stated that the radio suddenly activated, and the windshield wipers were randomly activated even though the vehicle was turned off. There were several other electrical malfunctions, and the vehicle intermittently failed to start immediately. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who acknowledged there was an electrical failure but was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The radio was replaced four times, an electrical harness was replaced, and there was a battery replacement; however, the vehicle was not fixed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,000.
11/9/2022 2016 Jeep Compass shaking and shuts off randomly, won't reverse , turning off and on engine fix the issue for a few minutes.
Air bags did not go off in accident.
Ever since I bought this car the time on the dashboard has started changing on its own. Even after resetting it the time will slowly start changing on its own it still hasn’t been fixed since the service station doesn’t know what’s wrong and it’s too expensive for me to pay to have it taken apart. The airbag lights are constantly flashing go on and off as well as the tire pressure light even though the tire pressure is on the right setting. Most recently the belt under the hood has snapped this will be a second time, it has snapped with in a week of buying the new belt. I have had at least 3 recalls that I know of. Save your money and buy a Toyota.

While driving (with no collision or impact of any kind) the passenger side active head restraint deployed. Luckily no one was in the passenger seat, the impact could have caused injury. There were no warning lights or problems of any kind prior to or after the deployment. Upon inspection I was told there are some plastic pieces that hold the restraint in place that have broken.
I was sitting in my car talking on the phone, parked in the parking lot and I felt the headrest hit the back of my head. I thought maybe somebody had hit me but nobody was behind me. The person I was on facetime with say and heard my head get hit and thought the same thing. Turns out it was the headrest that sprung forward and the small plastic clip that holds it together is broken. It came out of no where while I was parked and now I worry how safe would we be if I got into a collision. Additionally it vibrates now while stopped at a red light.
While driving home from work one day I heard a loud sound like a gun. The headrest to the passenger seat just deployed on its own. Took it to my mechanic to be corrected and he said it couldn't be reset the clip or a pin must have broke. Then on Wednesday July 28th I got a warning light on my dashboard pertaining to airbags. Puts fear in me because I need to know that my airbags are there for me if needed. C&h auto care is aware of the problems with my vehicle. They are located in joppa maryland.
I was driving at a normal speed and out of no where my head rest popped out so hard. It hit the back of my head and I almost got into an accident. It scared the living daylight out of me. I thought someone hit me from behind or that I got into an accident. There was no warning for this at all. I am very scared to drive my vehicle now. My neck does hurt at the moment, but no serious injury.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph in the snow, the vehicle slid on black ice and hit a curb at a low rate of speed. The contact stated that the front driver, front driver knee, and front passenger airbags deployed upon impact. The police arrived at the scene and the contact was given a ticket for speeding due to the airbags deploying; the contact maintained that she was driving at a low rate of speed. The contact was uncertain if a police report was filed. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to her home. After the accident, the contact sought medical attention for injuries to her chest and neck. The manufacturer nor the dealer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired and remained in the possession of the contact. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.
The active restraint headrest broke and the padded area popped out yesterday (01/11) while sitting in the car in a parking lot. The plastic holding the catch pin broke and it cannot be reset.
Vehicle was purchased used from carmax in April 2018 *(never alerted to any recalls. ) 10/09/2020 car driving on expressway / car was rolled in accident / totaled/ no airbags deployed.
All of my lights came on out of nowhere then car wouldn't turn back on. After diagnostics it was determined to be an electrical issue with the wiring harnesses & also was told that there were issues with my airbags being able to properly deploy. Vehicle was on. Vehicle was in motion at about 30-40mph. I was fortunate enough to make it home and be able to park my car and I was fortunate I wasn't on a highway or it could have been a very dangerous accident.
I was in a head-on collision on 9/24/2020. The car is being inspected for repairs now and I am dealing with the insurance claim at this time. My airbags did not go off at a speed of 35-40 mph, striking the vehicle that was at-fault, and then a metal pole. Fortunately did not have my daughter with me.
Passenger side active headrest deployed while sitting in the driveway with nobody in the vehicle. Unable to reset as the clips are broken, as can be seen in the attached photos.
I was driving into the parking lot of a dunken donuts and the driver side headrest deployed for no reason. The clips that lock the headrest in place some how broke causing the headrest to deploy.
My air bags deployed without collision. I was driving home at 55 mph, the speed limit on the interstate when my cause started beeping and air bags deployed causing me to clip a car when I swerved. I later received noticed in my Jeep app of a issue with the airbag.
The right front passenger headrest deployed while car was parked and not in use. The plastic retainer clips are broken and it can not be fixed. This is a safety issues that has been documented repeatedly on Jeep forum so it is a manufacturing problem. Jeep needs to replace this free of charge as it deployed on its own while the car was parked and not in use.
The tipm is failing caused me to stall at 70mph on a highway in traffic doors unlocked and then threw all electrical codes.
