The service airbag system warning light keeps illuminating. It will stay on for about 30 seconds and then turn off. I have brought the Jeep to the dealership for this issue 5 times. They cannot find the problem. They have replaced the wiring harness and then occupant restraint controller. The airbag light still comes on and off. Jeep has done nothing to rectify the situation, they have told me that I simply have to deal with it. I have filed for arbitration and they have claimed that it is not a safety issue. All times that the airbag light has come on, the vehicle has been in motion. It has happened in the city, it has happened on the highway, it has happened at high speeds and very low speeds. It happens when going straight, turning, it really has no preference.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the southfield Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (28100 telegraph rd, southfield, mi 48034, (248) 331-9937) where the contact was informed that the air bags wiring harness needed to be replaced at a cost of $5,000. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,500.

Every time I start my 2015 Jeep Compass,r stationary and running, I see a warning light appear regarding my air bag, indicating the airbag system has failed. Possibly a simple reset, however, Jeep has had other year Jeeps recalled regarding faulty airbags.

I am not the only one complaining about this. I've seen other complaints about this problem online. When I test drove my car, the airbag light turned on. The sales guys said it was a defect and would get fixed. Well, that never happened and I went back to the dealership three times and after they gave me a hard time, I gave up. I emailed Chrysler, called them, nothing! I will never buy a Jeep again. Horrible customer service. The air bag light dings and goes on and off sporadically and it's been like this since 2015. If I get into a crash and this light is on, I'm afraid the airbag will not release. There will be a lawsuit regardless if I'm dead or not! I guess you won't react until someone gets into an accident? meanwhile, wehae to live with the constant ding, ding, ding! Jeep Compass airbag warning light. If this light stays illuminated after the engine has started it signals that there is a fault within the airbag module and you are no longer being offered the saftety in the way your Jeep was designed to. You should get this checked out as soon as possible by your local garage. While driving the air bag warning light came on. Drove rest of the way home and disengaged car engine, restarted vehicle light stayed on. Contacted mechanic and suggested to take to dealer. Brought to the dealer purchased from (less than 90 days prior) they indicated one if the side airbags is broken, needs anew "skirt ass'y" and it disables all airbags for safety. How is disabling airbags helping my safety? while I can understand the need to draw a line for warranties, my vehicle is 1400 out of the bumper to bumper and the air bags are not a part that gets used. It's going to be over $900 to repair. Why isn't Chrysler standing behind their vehicles less than three years old? of which had airbag recalls in the recent past.
