I have also going to attach a screenshot of the six open recalls I found with my specific VIN number from the kelley blue book website last July in 2025. And now searching my VIN number there’s no open recalls and this is very concerning. This has became a huge safety issue with me and I’ve tried reaching out to y’all before and y’all still have not tried to reach out to me, I’m taking it to the dealership this week.

After replacing both batteries in my Jeep Compass 2019. The “stop safely vehicle will shut down” message kept coming on. In traffic the car shut off completely and wouldn’t start. -vehicle would not start several times, this occurred just after purchasing, then battery was replaced and it occurred again over the course of 8 months. -a few days ago after getting the Jeep to start, the rpm would not go >2 and the speed would not increase >20 mph. This happened on pa220 with speed limit of 40mph causing a near-wreck when pulling out onto the road and not being able to accelerate to the flow of oncoming traffic. My 6 year old child was in the vehicle with me. -yesterday I stopped for gas & turned the engine off, then it would not start up again. Another person used their vehicle to jumpstart the Jeep with jumper cables. The dash showed there was a “coolant issue” and to check the engine. The Jeep was inspected today and serviced with no issues to the battery, it was not the cause. -previously on multiple occasions the front screen for the radio would not turn on, has glitched and flickered, would not connect to cords plugged in for carplay, chargers will not charge the phone/connect inconsistently (multiple different chargers, worked in other vehicles/outlets), screen would be black but radio would play and unable to turn off/adjust the volume, screen “buttons” will not work/respond to touch often. I have video of this happening, unable to upload footage to this complaint. Can provide if necessary. -per the service dept at tyrone Ford dealership, the O2 sensor is on along with several other codes regarding this issue. This is a manufacturer’s defect, not a user error. It is a safety concern and is not something the consumer should be held accountable to pay for/fix. This is poor craftsmanship on Jeep’s part and needs resolved on their dime, not a single mother’s.

We were driving on the highway when the car simply stopped worked. The steering wheel became hard and the gas stopped working while in the middle of the highway. Now the cars is driving but all of the safety lights are on and the safety features are not working. Last week the oil was changed and they reviewed the car and everything was ok, now I need to keep going with my roadtrip in a car I don’t feel safe in, until we can get to a dealership. It’s a car that has 8840 miles on it, less than 6 monte and was taken in to repair the park break 3 times.

The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.

While driving I stopped at a light and an issues occurred where my stop start light appeared on dashboard. The car turned off for a minute and eventually started back up.

On February 18, 2026, while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle’s automatic emergency braking system activated unexpectedly. There were no vehicles, pedestrians, or obstacles present. The vehicle came to an abrupt stop, causing the tires to squeal and creating a hazardous situation. A second incident occurred on March 14, 2026, while traveling approximately 55 mph. Under normal driving conditions with no apparent hazards, the automatic braking system again engaged suddenly and without warning, bringing the vehicle to an unsafe and unexpected deceleration. This malfunction poses a significant safety risk, as it could lead to rear-end collisions or loss of vehicle control, endangering both the driver and other motorists. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership on March 16, 2026, for inspection. Initial diagnostic testing reportedly found no issues. At my request, the dealership retained the vehicle overnight for further evaluation. Upon pickup, I was informed that a software update was performed on the adaptive cruise control (acc) module; however, no definitive cause of the malfunction was identified. The dealership also indicated that the manufacturer is aware of similar issues but has not provided a resolution at this time. There were no warning lights, alerts, or prior indications of a malfunction before either incident occurred. The problem has not been resolved and may still be present. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

It appears to be the body control module that gave out. While driving home in the evening from work, the vehicle stopped accelerating beyond 20 mph. Further, the passenger windows stopped working, as did exterior tail, emergency, and turn signal lights. The dealer was unable to directly confirm that the bcm was the problem, however, it was confirmed the problem was not fuse, battery, or engine related. No inspection of the component or vehicle to date. No warning lamps or messages appeared. It was raining outside, the vehicle started as normal, and moved as normal for approximately five minutes, then suddenly the vehicle stopped accelerating forward placing myself and others in harm's way.

On several occasions, while driving at highway speeds (approximately 70 mph), the traction control and abs warning lights have illuminated, and the vehicle has suddenly lost acceleration. This malfunction seems to cause the car to change gears unexpectedly or, in some instances, stop accelerating altogether. As a result, I have been forced to pull over to the side of the road in order to perform a youtube-suggested reset just to get my vehicle back in motion. This situation has nearly led to accidents, as I have found myself stranded in traffic, unable to accelerate, or worse, pulling into traffic where the car fails to accelerate, almost causing collisions with other vehicles. Additionally, during colder weather, I have experienced issues with the throttle, where it becomes erratic and unresponsive. Despite having multiple repairs made, the problem persists, and I have observed that the throttle may either rev unexpectedly or fail to shift at all. While I understand that some repairs have been made, I am deeply concerned that the vehicle's ongoing malfunctions are indicative of serious safety hazards, which should be addressed by a professional dealership, at no cost rather than being dismissed with the assertion that "it won’t hurt anything. Unknown on just a regular day the vehicle stop showing on the screen the camera to back up , and glitching . The whole screen went out slowly by slowly . One day the screen lights up and you can see camera to warn you on cars and the next it doesn’t show anything on screen and it turns black . You can’t even read the temperature either because the screen blacks out or starts glitching really bad. I went to dealership and no recalls on that particular item .

I was approaching a stoplight and every light on the dash lit up, the car wouldn’t go after stopping and it wouldn’t turn off when put in park. I also couldn’t shift into any other gear. This is seriously dangerous and not the first time I’ve had major mechanical issues with this vehicle.

While cruising at 36mph, we decided to initiate the cruise control. Upon reaching a slow-down traffic ahead, the brakes were applied to slow the vehicle, however the cruise control did not disengage and the brakes did not stop the vehicle. The brakes were pressed three times and still the car could not stop. We were in a two-lane road with an opposite direction lane on the other side of the grassy median. We saw an opening in between the stopped vehicles and crossed over from right to left lane into the grassy median, hit a ditch, and did a sharp turn into opposing traffic, almost hitting another vehicle as they moved out of way, and stopped the vehicle on the opposite side of the road. When the vehicle hit the ditch crossing the median, the right front tire popped and helped in stopping the vehicle. Four family members including myself were in the vehicle and there were several cars already stopped in the lanes. This incident caused great safety concerns for my family and the vehicles around us. Had we hit the cars while crossing over, it would have caused a chain reaction of "hits" as the cars were already lined up and stopped. We brought the car to the Jeep dealership and they did confirm that the internal valve body failure and tcm fault contributed to improper communication within the transmission. They did replace the tcm and valve body assembly, reprogrammed the module and road tested the vehicle. The auto stop/start warning light came on after the incident. They performed a battery test for the main and auxiliary, and both failed load test and read at low voltages. Both batteries were replaced and fault codes cleared. Upon receiving the vehicle, I tested the cruise control component and it has been working for the past three months now.

My vehicle is experiencing the same symptoms as recall 16v907 (s89). Crankshaft shift sensor but the VIN was not bringing up the recall.

The high coolant temperature light cut on and turned my vehicle off while driving. This problem has been reported on older model Jeep Compasses. The car never turned back on and I had to get my vehicle towed home.

I am submitting this formal complaint to report a serious and dangerous safety defect involving the auxiliary battery system in the 2019 Jeep Compass. Without sufficient warning, my vehicle suddenly lost power and shut down while driving in traffic due to auxiliary battery failure. This failure caused a loss of propulsion and significantly reduced vehicle control, leaving me vulnerable in active traffic with little to no time to safely react or pull over. This situation could easily result in a severe accident, serious injury, or loss of life. What makes this issue especially alarming is that this is not an isolated incident. There are thousands of documented complaints, forum posts, and consumer reports online describing the exact same failure pattern in the 2019 Jeep Compass. Many drivers report sudden stalling, warning lights appearing too late to prevent shutdown, and complete loss of power while driving at speed or in intersections. A vehicle that can unexpectedly stop in traffic due to a known battery system defect presents a catastrophic safety risk. When coming to a stop at a stop light or stop sign sometimes the car will stall and the automatic stop/start will turn off and put the cars emergency brake on. This is typically in the middle of traffic. I put the car in park and the car won't turn off. I have to take my foot off the brake while it is in park, turn off the car that way. Then to turn it back on, put my foot on the brake and start the car all over again. All while cars are behind me and it is taking me minutes to get my car moving. This is happening very often. It can happen in dangerous places in the road as well. This cannot be normal.

Multiple times now at random, car will go from normal temp to overheating on the gauge for a moment. Shuts down in doing so regardless of being driven. Then will instantly think its cooling back down to normal. When it reaches normal it resumes normal driving abilities. While the temp is going up and down on the gauge the center of the cluster tells you "high coolant temperature". No codes or pending codes can be found. Thermostat housing and sensor have been replaced and still occurring at random. Researching online forms, lots of complaints of same issues with no resolve, spending thousands of dollars and trips to dealers and shops to not be resolved. This is a huge safety hazard as you can not move out of the way of others when it happens and occurs both when driving and stopped situations.

I tried the auto start on the fob car would not start I tried to the push start nothing again . Did get warning coolant temp high had to tow car they are investigating.

Safety risk: the lane/blind-spot systems fail during the exact maneuvers where they matter most—turning and crossing lane lines into driveways/parking lots—so the driver may rely on a system that's silently unavailable during higher collision risk. Both alm and 4wd faults trigger sudden, unexpected warning chimes while driving, startling the driver and diverting attention from the road at critical moments. Rear camera dropout adds risk while reversing. Dealer confirmation: yes. Technicians confirmed the alm fault, recalibrated the lane sensor multiple times, and replaced part bbaux101ab—none resolved the issue. U0422-00, b217a-87, and b217a-9a were confirmed via dealer diagnostic scan. The 4wd and usb faults self-clear before the vehicle can be brought in live. Other inspections: dealer service department only; not inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance.

The odometer cluster light is too dim and I can't see it during the daytime.

Rear back up camera goes to blue screen randomly. Uconnect system frequently freezes and is unresponsive. It has in the past attempted to dial 911 and I couldn't cancel it . It did not go through because my phone is not connected but it is still an issue.
