1 Wiring problem of the 2018 Jeep Compass

Failure Date: 06/10/2024

About years ago I was driving my 2018 Jeep Compass, when all of a suden the lights on the dashboard went crazy blinking on and off and the radio too, then the engine turned off and the steering wheel was to hard, I took the car to the dealership to get it checked up. After a few days the dealership said there is nothing wrong with the car. But days later the car did the same thing again. Took the car back to the dealership and they kept the car for a over two weeks they said car was fix two months after that car did it again went back to the dealership and they kept the car for more than six months, they could not find the problem they change some wiring, batteries and the radio and they said its fix but no. The car keep doing the same thing, over and over no I dont feel safe driving this car specially in the highway because when it shuts off the steering wheel is very hard to maneuver and is not safe at all.

2 Wiring problem of the 2016 Jeep Compass

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

All of my lights came on out of nowhere then car wouldn't turn back on. After diagnostics it was determined to be an electrical issue with the wiring harnesses & also was told that there were issues with my airbags being able to properly deploy. Vehicle was on. Vehicle was in motion at about 30-40mph. I was fortunate enough to make it home and be able to park my car and I was fortunate I wasn't on a highway or it could have been a very dangerous accident.

3 Wiring problem of the 2016 Jeep Compass

Failure Date: 06/21/2019

I have driven this vehicle for 3 years with no issues until recently. I take care of it and maintenance it regularly. Around April 29th I felt some steering issues and brought it in to firestone who told me it needed to be taken to the dealership. At the dealership, they replaced an abs sensor and a few tire sensors. Since then on multiple occasions the vehicle has randomly and intermittently stalled while driving. I can be driving at any speed and the vehicle will randomly lose acceleration, power steering, and brakes. It has happened after a turn, while just going straight at 45 mph, while in stop-and-go traffic, and when trying to accelerate after sitting at a red light. There is no rhyme or reason. The ignition has to be turned off and turned back on to restart the vehicle. I have nearly caused a collision twice. I brought it to the dealership on June 22nd and they had my car until June 25th. They replaced the crankshaft position carriage, and some frayed wiring. The issue happened 3 more times after those repairs. I had it towed to the dealership on June 27th and it is still in the shop (today is July 2nd). They are telling me they cannot recreate the problem and want me to take the vehicle back without doing any repairs. I am now working with the gm and cfo of the dealership to try and resolve this and I have filed a complaint with Chrysler (case #59096741). I do not feel safe driving the vehicle and I refuse to put my children in it. All service records that I have are inside the vehicle at the dealership.

4 Wiring problem of the 2017 Jeep Compass

Failure Date: 09/18/2017

1. Mileage 214 - driving car on city street, screen system went out - heat, back up camera, radio, etc. 2. Mileage 887 - driving car - in drive, but just barely so because had backed out of parking spot and was only a few feet from where put into drive - car suddenly lurches and stops. Towed to dealer. Found "rubbed through wiring" in transmission harness. 3. Mileage 1632 - same as problem 1. Found to be internal defect, replaced radio/telematics gateway module. 4. Mileage 3329 - driving in stop and go traffic in city on a city street (not highway), stop in line of traffic. Auto/start/stop engages to stop engine. When foot lifted from brake, car won't start back up. Error code for stop/start. Turn car completely off and on, engine turns over, but error code remains. In shop for this now.

6 Wiring problem of the 2009 Jeep Compass

Failure Date: 07/11/2016

They (dealers) keep saying my wiring harness needs replace. They replace it once on 7/11/16 cause my radiator fan would not come on and they replace the timp. Now the fan won't turn off even when the key is out. Miles on this is 130,859 I believe there a issue with this wiring harness p/n 68043111ab and the timp p/n rl028007ad check and see how many replacements they put in these models. I went to a junk yard and all the Compass's timp or fuse box had been removed.
