Our vehicle acts as if it has an electrical problem, radio no longer works but clock does, engine crack shaft makes it hard for vehicle to start. Car was checked for batter, alternator and starter and check out all good. It struggles to start just started a few weeks ago. It takes alot to build speed sometimes and stalls sometimes acting as if it wants to cut off.

Remote start began failing then wouldn't even start with key. Had to replace starter due to where starter is located it gets so hot it fried the wiring. Mechanic stated due to where the starter is located, I will probably have to replace it every year or two. Very poor design.

When you park the Jeep and turn it off the starter keeps clicking like it is trying to start the radio comes on with no body in Jeep when it is off and it all this makes the battery go dead.
Short version: I used the remote starter on my Compass. As I was driving, I noticed a small red light between my windshield and dashboard. The red light turned into a very small bright orange flame. When I stopped the car it was gone. I checked with a flashlight and saw burn mark's on both the windshield and dashboard. When I started the vehicle without the remote starter nothing happened. But than when I tried with the remote starter again. It began to burn again and this time there was smoke. Dealership told me that it was the program in the remote starter that caused the issue but it is not covered under my extended warranty. And due to the mileage of the vehicle the regular warranty expired. Fiat Chrysler has agreed with the dealership. The dealership states that the vehicle is safe to drive because they removed the power supply fuse and the 30 amp fuse from power supply circuit and down circuit.
When I have to brake and come to a stop the car rumbles, then when completly stopped the car shuts off, then when I take my foot off the brake peddle the starter kicks in and starts the car in gear with a rumble and then I can go? it does'nt matter if on the high way or at a stop sign it rumbles, shuts off and restarts in gear. The car is (2) days old with 35 miles.

2009 Jeep Compass manual transmission engine stalling intermittently at highway speed and also at idling. Has happened several times, but usually starts back up after a short period of time. Also, vehicle will intermittently not start, all lights on dash light up, battery is good, nothing wrong with starter. Sometimes it will start within minutes, other times it starts after a day or two. . . Random. Break pedal usually very stiff. Have has it towed to the dealership to only have it start and they could not diagnose the issue.

Jeep will not start with key. Then I had to press on gas to get car to start, now it doesn't start at all with key. I have to use my automatic starter to get my car to start then put my key in. This should be recalled. This is not safe, and obviously a Jeep problem. I have researched this, and so many Jeep owners have this problem.
We recently had 3 instances where our brand new 2019 Jeep Compass failed to start. The car is only 4 weeks old and has less than 500 miles on it. We tried several times, but the car would not turn on even though the dashboard indicated the engine was running. We saw online that this has already been reported by several people. Took the car to the dealer and apparently there is a known problem with "starter control". They applied a pcm update under item tcb 18-035-19. I don't understand why, if this is a known problem with a fix, the dealers aren't proactively recalling these cars. The electronic start is the only way to start the vehicle (no override) and it could cause grave problems, depending on the situation, if the vehicle won't start. Huge safety issue!!!!!.
I went to start my Jeep Compass and it doesn't start all the lightsbom, the dash come,on alsonthw radio, tuens,on but when, you turn the key it does nothing. I changed the starter what else so,I have to change.

Power rear window intermittently would not raise after being lowered. Following a trip to my son't violin practice. After raising using the rear window power up, it raised and then worked fine. A few months later, out of the blue one morning the Jeep would not start. It was parked overnight in our driveway. Called roadside service and they attempted to jump it off with a jump box and it would still not start. Had a friend stop by and assist with jumper cables and after three attempts it started. Advance auto checked the battery/starter/alternator and all tested fine. Taken to dealer and totally integrated power modeule required changing and was not covered by either warranty or extended warranty I purchased when origionally bought. That was two weeks ago. Two days ago, out of the blue the horn honked. Then tonight, after being parked again overnight, I attempted to start my Jeep and upon turning the key in the ignition only the dash lights and radio came on x2. On the third attempt the vehicle started. First occurance was 7/26/2017 second 8/8/2017 following two days in the shop and a changed tipm.

The car will not start. Get in the car, turn the key, no sound from the engine compartment. No clicking, nothing. The radio works, the fan works, the lights work. Have checked the battery, alternator, starter, none of that is the problem. Seems to be a recurring problem with Jeeps based on internet search. Has happened more than once. Does not put out a code for a code reader to scan and report.
