The contact owns a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact heard a loud ticking noise coming from the front end of the vehicle. She inspected the vehicle and noticed that the oil level was extremely low. There were no warning lights illuminated prior to the failure. The oil was changed in the vehicle two months prior to the failure. She took the vehicle to a local mechanic and was informed that the engine needed to be replaced at the cost of over $3,500. The vehicle has not been repaired. The VIN was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 157,000.
