Every day I crank up my Jeep I give it 5-10 mins before I move it because it has this shake or vibration to it really bad it stops and then once I have exceeded 45-55 mph and start to come to a stop it shakes the entire front end. Now if I'm below 45 it don't really do it as often! when I turn or hit a bump in the road the front end rattled or vibrating from it! some days when I'm trying to make a u turn it seems as if it's having a hard time turning! check engine light constantly on and off! had it checked nothing is coming up indicating a misfire or anything! the gas mileage sucks! get a full tune up and it will run better spending all my money and it's still a piece of crap!.
A few weeks/months after the purchase of my Jeep about 2 years ago, I noticed that my cruise control had stopped working and the abs light had come. I checked my fuses and relays and they were ok. Then a day or so later I was driving on the interstate and my check engine light and my brake lights came on. My Jeep then seemed to downshifted itself. It felt as if the transmission had locked up, it slowed to about 30mph and would not shift onto another gear. I pulled over killed the motor. After a few attempts to drive it, I turned the key over and noticed the break and engine lights were off so I attempted to drive home and was sucessfull. This started to happen more and more often. I noticed that it mainly happened when either I was running my ac or it was wet/raining outside. I then started researching Jeep problems and recalls. I came across the daminoncrysler recall no. 13. The recall had described the issue I was having, so I researched my VIN and it staled that the recall no. 13 has already been completed on Jeep. Now my Jeep is stuck in limp mode and will not reset. It will not shift and the abs, brake and engine lights stay on. Is there a way to find out exactly what service did they did when it was recalled in 2005 (if any)? I dont know what to do.
Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at night, the exterior head lights, the instrument panel and the rear lights became inoperable as the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there was a power interruption. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred several times. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000. Ss.
Vehicle is an automatic, suddenly attempted to manually shift into a lower gear. The vehicle suddenly slowed down to 5 miles an hour and the rpms started to red line. Check engine light came on and stayed on all day. This has happened numerous times in the last few months without warning.
While driving approximately 40mph my check engine light started dinging and blinking. Within a few seconds of this the engine powered down ( rpm read 0). All the electrical components stayed on (radio, lights, ect) then within 10 seconds the engine started back up. When the vehicle restarted itself the esp showed being disabled and the rpm's where higher than normal. Any acceleration/deceleration the check engine light would ding and blink. This has happened multiple times since it first occured. I have taken it to two mechanics to be serviced. The vehicle displayed random codes at both shops.
I have been waiting and waiting to get this problem rendered. I received a recall notice about the faulty ignition switch and the slew of possible fatal consequences should anything occur. The recall notice is p41/NHTSA 14v-438, and ive been told I would receive a second recall notice in September 2015. Well, im still waiting!!. Meanwhile I am driving a potentially dangerous vehicle and have been for quite awhile. I have no choice. I have already noticed my check engine light stays lit on my dash, as well as my airbag light as well indicating that I already have issues occurring that are according to the recall notice is linked to this problem. I want this fixed. I cant afford to buy another vehicle and need the one I have. However, am I suppossed to get seriously injured or killed first? then what,? a family member receives a check? who cares about the money if I'm killed? I am seriously annoyed and concerned, please render this issue. And I'm sick of hearing "we dont have the part". I need this vehicle fixed now!!! its been too long already.
The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle stalled and the check engine light and the abs light illuminated. Also, the contact stated that the brakes engaged independently. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v438000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.
While driving for about 30 minutes, the gears changed from drive to the 3rd gear. Transmission reves up and the check engine light comes on. After coming to a stop, and restarting it, it sometimes goes back to drive mode, but reverts back to the third gear, displays "3" and stays there. Took it to a mechanic, could not fix. Dealer claims no recalls for this problem, but online blogs show plenty of people with the same problem. Help.
Sometimes when I drive the engine feels like it stalls out and my rpm's don't move, all the boxes around prnd light up and the check engine light comes on. I have to pull over and put the car in park or sometimes I have to turn it off. Once this is done the car continues to drive like nothing happened but the check engine light will stay on for a day. Sometimes it happens on the highway which is very scary to just drop speed down to 40. I have read many blogs about this issue. It happens at random times.
The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact noticed a massive hesitation with his vehicle. The vehicle would not start and the dealer was notified. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop and a new starter was installed. After the repair was performed, the check engine indicator illuminated. He went through a drive-thru car wash and noticed that the vehicle began to hesitate. When he placed extra pressure on the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would stutter and then finally catch and increase in speed. The dealer performed a tune-up, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but they could not pinpoint the cause of the failure. The manufacturer has not been notified. The current mileage was 57,802 and failure mileage was approximately 57,400. Updated 03-04-09 the consumer stated a code for the O2 sensor heater was being displayed. The engine light is still on. Updated 03/04/09.
I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo, 3. 7l engine, automatic transmission. When driving, the vehicle will just shut off as if the key was turned off, losing all power. The vehicle will start afterwards and the check engine light will stay on for a few hours this has been going on for a couple years. This problem is similar to the recall on the 2008 Grand Cherokee stalling and I think this problem is more wide spread than Chrysler wants to admit. I have an appointment with a Jeep dealer who recently relocated in my area next week.
I purchased a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee in January 2005. On August 25, 2006, I took the vehicle to normandin Chrysler Jeep because the check engine light had come on and the car was lurching, making noise and kept sliding into third gear. The car was returned to me after three plus weeks and the first time I drove it, my passenger and I were almost involved in an accident because the car died. The car was immediately returned to the dealership where it has been for over two weeks awaiting a "new" transmission. The car has been in the dealership for a total of 36 of the last 38 days. The car is still at the dealership.
I have a 2005 Grand Cherokee laredo under 3000 miles. My engine light has come on less than 10 times ,and my car has stalled when come to stop light or complete stop about 5 times. I have made 5 trips to the dealer and the first few times they could not find anything wrong with it. Then they determined it was related to the remote start which they had installed. I got it back and they said it was fixed and it stalled out when I pulled into my driveway that very day. Engine light came on again exactly 1 week later. Engine light is still on now. This will be my 7th trip to the dealer for this problem. I would also like to say that I have also hit the key in the ignition twice which made the car shut off and my car has also revved up with the brake on just as the other complaints on this site. I am also only getting 12 miles per gallon!.
