The contact's daughter owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While the contact's daughter was driving, she heard an abnormal noise in the engine. The contact's daughter noticed smoke, smelled a burning odor, and the engine stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed a cover leak and stated that the engine needed to be replaced. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was repaired. 2 Loud Engine Noise problem

Failure Date: 03/30/2006

: the contact stated while stopped at a stop sign, the engine revved and made a loud roaring noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection.
