4 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/12/2013

Engine stalls when coming to a stop. This stalling at a stop only happens a few minutes into driving and disappears after about 1/2 hr of driving. The stall can be prevented by pushing the (automatic) transmission into neutral. (I. E. This looks to be a transmission control problem, not an engine idle problem). Jeep dealer had car for two days and was able to reproduce stall but could not find cause and fix the problem. There is no check-engine light on.

7 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2008

1. My 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee unexpectedly can stall, typically when the vehicle is moving at less than 15-20 mph. Unfortunately, no warnings are given by the vehicle as the engine simply stalls and dies. No computer error codes are displayed or registered. The stalling occurs both in forward and reverse. Often the stalling occurs when the engine seems to either down shift or up shift in lower gears. The stalling is a safety issue as the unexpected and unpredictable stalling often occurs at stop lights/intersections or parking lots. The problem appears to me to be a coupling between the computer controller/software, the rpm sensor, and the transmission gear box. 2. The failure is intermittent and unpredictable. When the computer fails to "catch" the rpms fall rapidly and the engine stalls and dies. Consequence is that the vehicle can stop suddenly in the middle of an intersection or parking lot. The failures have occurred multiple times. 3. Despite several computer flashes and maintenance on the "solenoid-linear iacv," Jeep has failed to resolve the problem. Chrysler-Jeep gives the run-around. The dealer says that they can help anymore; the regional manager doesn't recognize it as a safety issue; corporate Chrysler-Jeep doesn't see it as an issue.

8 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2007

2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4. 7l 4wd. Engine idles rough and stalls when brakes are applied. Reported to dealerships for servicing on multiple occasions. Unable to resolve.

Turning left to enter major highway and the engine stalls with loss of power steering and power brakes.

10 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2006

: the contact stated while driving 60 mph on the interstate, there was a loss of all vehicle power, and the engine stalled without warning. Afterwards, the engine was easily restarted. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who determined the electrical wires along the engine were mounted incorrectly and had worn into. The electrical wires were replaced, but the engine stalling problem persisted. The manufacturer was alerted. Updated 12/28/2006 - whike driving at speeds of 5 - 60 mph all the dasj lights would flash on and off and the vehicle would loose power. So far the dealer has replaced the crank sensor due to wear, front control module.

11 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 01/28/2005

Engine occasionally stalls when braking. I originally only noticed it when parking after 30-50 minutes of driving. On 28 Jan 07, Jeep stalled on 31w while approaching a stop light. There was a chime, a red light in upper right of dash started to blink, and the message center stated programming active. After about 30 seconds, there was another chime, the message went out, and I could restart the vehicle. The vehicle has stalled several times since then, all while braking.
