Lights on the dashboard were blinking, there were no turning signals, the gas gauge was not working, and the check engine light was flashing. My safety was put at risk because I could not let people know when I was turning. I took it to the dealer, and they said there were too many codes, but none were active for them to fix the problem. So, I have to drive the Jeep, but this is dangerous. The warning keeps showing me that there is a problem with the ignition switch that was previously recalled. I want this taken care of, please.
Every single code is displayed when using a odb2 scan tool. I have many electrical issues that go away and come back. Sluggish performance. Random components inside the Jeep will fail at random. I’m thinking the ecu is faulty. Somedays it will run fine with all the codes still present.
Dash will read "esp system disabled" during this the engine light and red lightning in brackets ( ) turns on, on the dash. This affects the acceleration there is none and brakes work but is slow to come to a full stop. An inspection can be scheduled. This happens anytime and randomly, getting safely off the road is hard. First happened April 1, 2024 then April 3, 2024. Had a family mechanic work on it got it back and less than a day having it back and it happened 5 more times just driving to work on August 28, 2024.

The Jeep would not start. When the key was inserted into the ignition switch and turned to the start position, all that would happen is a single click. The starter would not engage. The key had to me jiggled in order to start the Jeep. The ignition switch has very high sensitivity.
Ignition system was repaired under recall in 2016. The cars ignition system continues to have issues and will shut off and cause the car not to restart. Very dangerous to be driving and have the engine fail. This happened on the highway recently. Chrysler says there is nothing they can do. Entering my exit I noticed my 1month old was no longer sound asleep but screaming I turned around noticing she was being approached by smoke arising from the back of the vehicle. As panic set in I immediately tried to come to stop moving off the exit. At the same time clear fluid gushed out of the hood and smoke immediately entered the front of the vehicle making it difficult to come to a stop see or breath. I went blank out of fear or pure confusion as I reached for my infant in the back as quickly as I could at that point she was. No longer crying. I shot out of the vehicle as fast as possible and stayed in a safety spot attempting to shield her from the sun as I watched the Jeep ignite and continue to smoke itself out witnesses gathered around one allowing me to sit in her vehicle with my baby until help arrived. No warning signs once so ever no indication of an over heating vehicle drove perfectly and not frequently it may be inspected at the towing it was taken to as for the safety of my newborn and myself we both could’ve tragically ended up gone because I was not and would not have thought twice about leaving my daughter in that vehicle. She just got into this world to be taken that fast it wasnt an option. I’ve been very uneasy since the incident with absolutely anything that functions or is electronic. Continues replay in my head over and over again in detail and nothing new pops up truly a very traumatic experience and an unexpected loss. Appointments I can’t make it to have had to cancel I do not have family here especially not close by to help me this accident was by far caused by the vehicle because it definitely look like he had a mind of its own suddenly.
Driving down the road the vehicle cuts off had to try and pull off the road. It would not crank back. Had to have it towed.
While driving on the interstate the vehicle will lose all power for varying amounts of time. Engine will continue to run and vehicle drives but during this power loss all lights, cruise control, a/c, and instrument cluster are inoperable. Driving conditions have not changed and these symptoms have suddenly showed up.
While operating the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the instrument cluster acts as if it's disconnected. . . , speedodemeter, tachometer, fuel gauge, and temperature gage all go to zero, yet the engine continues to run without interruption. Then, with no rhyme or reason, the entire dashboard lights up (as if just turning the car on). All of this occurs within 26 seconds. No effect on the radio, a/c, etc. , only seems to affect the instrument cluster. Not sure if the lights/brake lights/turn signals work when this occurs. I have a video, but cannot upload via this website - it is a . Mov file.
Numerous times when driving everything electrical will go out, the dash lights, headlights radio lights everything like the car is completely off. One time I hit the dash and everything came back on another time just to see I opened my driver door and everything came back on when I closed the door back everything went back off. It started as random but is now more and more often. It happens alway when I am driving.
Dashboard lights keep flickering, the whole dashboard turn on and off and headlights and interior lights flicker and while driving vehicle turned off completely.

Both door handles inside vehicle in the back were broken now the passenger side is broken no way to open vehicle door from inside. 5. December 2022 battery light is coming on, battery is no more than 2 years old check engine light keeps coming on. 6. Sunroof is leaking inside the vehicle when it rains. Hardly ever use/open sunroof. 7. Traction control light comes on blinking quite often since I purchased a vehicle in February 2020. 8. Sometimes vehicle will go into third gear from drive and will not switch down to any other gear or back into drive. It stays in 3rd. I have to turn vehicle off then back on for it to be back into drive. Bought vehicle in February 2020 and spent well over $6,000 in repairs. I have all receipts. Have many more problems that I will send next. It only let me select 3 at a time.
While parked the vehicle sometimes will not start. It takes several attempts turning the key and shutting off the lights before the vehicle starts. There is a recall on this vehicle that the dealer has not been able to fix because the part is not and has not been in stock.
Pcm has been replacement multiple times by different repair shop. When computer fails it has failed a circuit with 02 sensors which kills engine power randomly while driving on highways. It has turned abs light on and service 4x4 randomly and won’t let the vehicle travel over 10mph. Very dangerous on roads. I’ve had three computers installed in the last year and a half and have given me 3 close calls almost causing accident. That’s 3 too many. I’m not the only one with the computer issues ask around to owners with these Jeeps. How many close called does someone need for Chrysler to not even repair but just to look into. Do people need to die in an accident for people to take this seriously. The issue is not from lack of maintenance either. If my abs module was failed I would no. My vehicle has a 115,000miles on it and when this dangerous intermittent issues occur there are no dtc codes stored. This is a total epic failure done by Chrysler. If they don’t find something soon about theses vehicles. I will be sure never to by another Jeep product. I don’t drive this vehicle unless I’m alone never-mind one of my niece or nephews with me in this death trap I’ve learned my lesson on this one Chrysler please help NHTSA!!.

Won't speed up and when is does it gets jammed and it shakes and when I break its shakes even when I turn. I just bought it and they are telling me that it's either the motor messed up or the computer. They told me that it'll cost me 3,000 I don't have that. I saved up for a head to by it. And a month after I got it it's messing up. But when I first bought it. I took it to a shop and it threw no codes nothing was wrong with it. It took all of a month to break down on me. And the battery won't stay charged they put in a new battery when I first got it. Then I had to warranty another because that one stopped working. I just need help to figure out what is going on.

While driving on a city street last night, all lights on the dashboard light up and then go off and my gauges don't work, my headlights and turn signals don't work, nothing works in the interior. Vehicle still runs, but electrical stuff doesn't work. Could not use a turn signal to get out of traffic and off the road and it was dark. This has happened more than once and I'm afraid to drive any distance or trip. I try to get off the road and turn the car off for a few seconds, turn it back on and things go back to normal except the check engine light or the anti lock brake light may or may not stay on for a day or so and then it will go off. So intermittent and happens so suddenly without warning. This will also happen sometimes when I start the vehicle after it has been parked for a while.
My car just stop one day I put in new stuff and it just won't crank anymore it's like it don't wanna get gas the system and computer in car don't work.
Takata recall. My Jeep randomly and frequently loses connection with the electronic shift module, when this happens it gets stuck in random gears and it will not move fast (safely) when I accelerate unless the car is restarted but then it'll happen again almost immediately after. This happens almost every time I stop, and sometimes happens while driving. This is a well known issue with the 05-10 model years that Jeep has swept under the rug and ignored for years. It has caused damage to my cars transmission and has made me feel unsafe driving my vehicle.
All of the dash lights up, flashes/flutter/flickers, radio shuts off, hvac system shuts off, but engine still runs. This only happens when the car is on, however it can happen while in motion or in park. . But I do not see a pattern beyond that (like when it rains or is humid). I have tried to make it happen by juggling my ignition because I know that is a thing, but that never initiates the problem.
While driving the vehicle on freeway in traffic 70+ mph the ignition shut down, came back on, and back off again. . After I wiggled the key in the ignition before it came back on. . . Caused sway brake protect to fail. . Extremely dangerous. .

Takata recall check engine light code ignition position switch and other codes keep popping up. Jeep keeps stalling and losing power while driving.
While driving all the instrument / gage lights came on then went off several times, while this was going on the vehicle speedometer and tachometer went to zero stayed for a few seconds , long enough for me to pull to the side of the road, then resumed operating. Not sure if direction lighting was responding on exterior of vehicle at the time. Or head lights, as it was daytime. I had difficulty getting people to acknowledge as it's generally a very busy road traveled. Meridian rd puyallup wa.

Problem with instrument panel lights and ac coming on with turning on ignition or starting the vehicle. Ignition was replaced a year plus ago under the recall. I can shut off the car and usually get then to work. This is a big concern for driving esp. Has not gone off while driving at this point although!.
Middle backseat seatbelt is stuck unfastened, unable to fasten seatbelt, unable to place small children or babies in the middle seat. Middle seatbelt is not a lap belt, it goes across the chest. Safest seat is now the most unsafe position in the car.
