1 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 10/28/2019

I have a 2007 Grand Cherokee. While taking my kids to school, I was slowing down when the Jeep just died. I coasted to the side of the road and was able to start the car again. Anytime since then, mainly when slowing down to stop, it would do the same thing. Tried replacing ecm, sensors, etc. Nothing has worked yet. Jeep dealer told us it could be the wiring harness. . . Which we cant find anywhere.

2 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 01/19/2014

Driving and all dashboard warning lights keep blinking like xmas lights and vehicle looses power, park vehicle and go to restart and check engine light stays on, next day start vehicle and check engine light is off. This has been an on going problem with this vehicle. New wiring and wiring harness was replaced at 43k miles and the "certified tech" said the problem was solved, but per my other complaints the problem keeps happening.

4 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 05/14/2012

When driving my vehicle on the highway I noticed that all of the warning lights on my dashboard were flashing on and then off again, this happened numerous times. It stopped after a few minutes. My fuel, tachometer, speedometer, oil pressure gauges also went from the on to off positions. I notified my car dealership and brought the vehicle in for repair, the service manager said " they can't find the problem if it doesn't present itself " so I drove the vehicle back home. Weeks had passed and the same things happened again, all the warning lights came on then they went off numerous times, the gauges went on and off also. I called the dealership again, they told me take off any unnecessary items off the keyring this could be the problem. I told the dealership that " I don't have anything on my keyring" they told me they wouldn't be able to find the problem unless it presents itself. I spoke to a mechanic who has 30 yrs of experience in auto repairs and electrical troubleshooting. He told me it was probably the ignition cut-off switch or short in the wiring harness that was causing my problems. He told me to research it on the internet. I did and I found other Jeep owners with the same issue and resolved it with a repair. My question is this. Why won't Chrysler own up to this problem and fix it?.

5 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2011

I purchased the vehicle at the end of may 2012 engine light was on and had a due bill for work to be done, stalling was 1 of the issues. Got it back with no check engine light on,but still stalled whenever hot or cold driving or in park. Has been in and out of the shop for almost a year and it still stalls, Jeep tech's cant figure it out. Dies sometimes 3-4 times a day and once in awhile not at all, but on average 3-5 times a week, never throws a code or check engine light just dies like if I turn the key off. I have to stop or pull over put it in park turn the key all the way off and then restart, runs fine till the next stall which might be in a few minutes, hours or the next day!! very frustrated and don't feel safe at all!!about 3000 dollars of work has been done and still stalls. Next thing to do Jeep tech says replace wiring harness 2000 dollars. . Haven't done that yet hopefully something else can be done!!! pcm and plugs have been replace by Jeep tech's among other things tried and it still stalls!.

6 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2007

In may 2007 we started having problems with the a/c and blower motor on our vehicle. I conducted research and found through tech advisory the blower control module were the problem and were being replaced. I disconnected the blower control module and could see the unit had melted around the wire harness plug. I did exactly as the tech advisory recommended and replaced the blower control module and wire harness plug. Less than 70 days the exact same problem has occurred again. I pulled the blower control module out and could see the new module had once again melted around the replaced plug. I called the dealership and was told they would warranty the part and I just needed to bring the original invoice and bad melted blower control module in and they would give me a new one. I did that last night and when I was at the dealership they looked at the melted blower control module and told me because I did not replace the entire wire harness they would not replace the melted module. I inquired as to the cost to replace the entire wire harness as it required pulling out the entire dash to simply unplug the old harness and plug the new one in. I was told 8 hours of labor and cost of parts for the new harness and blower control module which was estimated at $700. 00. The parts themselves are less than $200. 00. When I replaced the original part I did it exactly as the tech advisory told me so which was dated sometime in may 2007. In addition to the part melting it has sank the top edge of the carpet in the passenger side floor board. I view this as an extreme safety hazard and could actually case a fire in the vehicle. The dealership advised no warranty recalls have been issued for this issue either. I think Chrysler should re-examine how many of these blower control modules they have replaced and the risk they are putting the public at by not recalling them. Any assistance in this matter would be appreciated.
