31 Ignition Switch problem

Failure Date: 01/07/2015

While driving my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I expereinced a random loss of dashboard lighting, gauges and heater. Have seen multiple post pertaining to exact same issue with many different solution suggestions. Common belief is that best solution is to replace ignition switch (ironically same issue that has been recently recalled by Chrysler, but not yet fixed via many dealership's services despite several notices that they are aware of the issue. ) seems very irresponsible for manufactorers /dealers service to allow this risky defect to continue to occur for years without a common formal resolution for dealerships to adhere to. Consumers are left to scramble as best they are comfortable with to resolve while some dealer service centers and mechanics take advantage of these people by overcharging them for fixes that don't resolve the true problem. Please push this issue to common resolution as many consumers seem to be bother literally and figuratively in the dark as to the correct direction!.
