1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2026

Had a recall done in February and 3 weeks later the car would not start randomly no warning lights illuminated on the dash prior to being shut off and once it would start it threw 3 codes for p0850, u0100, and u1267 all related to the parts replaced in February for the recall for the 2nd time now regarding the same parts. And trying to get a reinspection done for the recall bc the parts seem to have failed and its been a living nightmare. And unsure why no warning lights were illuminated prior to the car not starting randomly.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/29/2025

1-rear driver-side power lift-gate actuator ball bolt snapped right off while rear gate is open. 2- it came right down on my head and caused severe bump and bleeding from a 250 pound rear door. I am 6ft 1 in, but if it is someone small it can cause sever injuries and possible death from the heavy door coming down on the person. 3-problem was looked at by my mechanic and they cannot fix issue as bolt broke off inside the thread area and no room to remove such bolt. They recommended I take it to a body shop to cut the area out in order to get the broken broke removed. 4-unknown 5- there was no signs of any failures at all.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/04/2025

Transmission line has worn a hole from the location it sits under the Jeep. The metal hose now has a flat spot. This is because its rubbing on the metal plate below it. I attached photos. I do have a video of what we are seeing and how it’s happening. Yes, it was taken to a dealership for proper diagnosis. Part is unavailable, because of a common issue. No dealership’s are willing to sell the part. It just stated leaking drives fine for now.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2025

I have videos, but my cars electrical system keeps glitching, it will turn my heated seats on to the pint they burn me, it connects to my phone and will randomly call anyone in my contacts, it changes radio stations, messes with my automatic start, took my traction control off and does this on a regular basis. I had this system fixed in March of 2023 just after I bought the car but it’s already doing it again. It also will randomly just cut off when I’m driving and then will be fine very randomly. - I will have to send you the videos I took it says they are too large to upload here.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2025

The radio in this vehicle has a widespread issue where the screen delaminates and starts ghost touching . Options are randomly selected , people are randomly called , emergency services are attempted to be contacted. Basically anything that the radio controls in the car could be changed or activated . This is extremely distracting and could cause someone to take their focus off the road and cause an accident. The radio controls heater, navigation, seat heaters, phone calls , steering wheel heaters , and many other functions in the car some of which cannot be changed without the malfunctioning radio being on. Fixing this issue is somewhere in the range of $1300 at the dealership. I feel like this is and important safety issue that causes a lot of distraction when driving the vehicle and is really difficult to work around or avoid as the random screen touches are not predictable and seem to happen at random times.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/25/2025

I was driving my Jeep and my drivers headrest randomly pooped out and hit the back of my head! I was shocked and the pop hurt my next and caused me to almost hit the car next to me .

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2025

Delamination of infotainment system has occurred, causing a safety hazard if (or when) needing to use the sos calling, hands free communication, or heads up navigation system. This is a manufacturers defect that may cause safety to myself or others due to distracting the driver by turning on and off seat warmers, adjusting climate control, randomly calling people and makes the operation of utilizing sos features impossible. The component has not been inspected, but seems like a common occurrence amongst these this model year. No warning lamps or messages appeared and I was taken off guard when my infotainment system appeared to have a life of its own on the interstate.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/10/2025

Cam shaft and yes it is available to be looked at. The vehicle was misdiagnosed multiple times and sent back home with the same error code while fixing other items that were not the root cause of the issue. The engine light was on with the misfire code when I brought it in and was repeatedly sent home and within 20 miles the same code returned.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2025

The screen has delaminated and is not functional. If on while driving it goes haywire and has to be turned off. This effects hands free, gps, climate control, etc. This is a known issue with these Jeeps but has not merited a recall as of yet. It needs to be recalled.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2025

The abs and traction control lights are on. There is an open recall for this, but according to stellantis, this Jeep is not part of the recall.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2025

Screen delamination causing phantom touches on the control screen.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/31/2025

I have been without a vehicle for over 5 months. Paying on a vehicle that I cannot even get out of the garage. Paying storage insurance on a vehicle. There is a major issue with camshafts right now. I have had the spark plugs changed, coils, oil and I was waiting on the camshaft which is on back order for who knows how long. This needs to be addressed and recalled. With the amount being over 14,000 parts on back order I think this should be recalled. Even people who have had the camshaft fixed are still having engine issues with the 3. 6l. Please do something about this, I have put so much money into this and I need a vehicle. At 75,000 miles this should not be happening.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2024

Touch screen delamination issue. The touchscreens control different aspects of the vehicle, from the radio to hvc system. After delamination has occurred the systems go berserk and cannot be used. It's obvious looking at the screen it has delamination issues. I called Jeep customer care, and their policy doesn't cover 2018 models. There are multiple threads online about this issue. Dealers charge $1,500-2,000 to replace/fix which is ridiculous when it is a known default of the screen they are installing in the vehicles. There have been no other issues with the vehicle or symptoms, it started switching radio channels once and awhile late 2024 and has progressed to almost every time the car is started. Its frustrating consumers have to pay out of pocket when the manufactures know they installed defective screens.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2024

Component failure: the control screen is going through a process of delamination. It creates "ghost touches" and behaves erratically. Safety at risk: in one instance the backup camera came on and stayed on randomly, while I was driving forward. Another time it activated the phone and began calling down the contact list. It called, then hung up. Dialed the next person and hung up. And continued through the contact list. People began "returning my call" and it got worse. I was driving on the interstate during heavy traffic and couldn't just pull over anywhere. It was distracting, alarming, and unnerving. It also randomly turns the radio on. It will randomly change heat/ac turning it on/off. Turns the heated/cooled seats on/off. All of the controls in that panel are subject to these ghost touches. It's distracting when driving but also could be dangerous. Dealership confirmed: the dealership has looked at it, analyzed it, and confirmed the issue. They see it frequently. Jeep customer service is kicks you to the dealer and the dealer kicks you to customer service. No resolution except to pay out of pocket for this manufacturing defect. Warnings or symptoms: there was no warning that the delamination was going to occur. And it first happened at the end of 2024. My car is a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2024

Recall on the hydraulic control unit/anti-lock brake system a brake light incorrectly resulting other drivers not receiving proper indication to stop or slow down which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. Call my local dealership and mopar and informed me that they still do not have the part to fix this recall. It has been more an an year and half without resolution. They have not inspected my vehicle as I did schedule an appointment but the dealership informed me that they is still no solution and would reach out. There has no warning lamps or messages that appears in my vehicle as of right now.

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2024

Uconnect radio - delamination resulting in unpredictable, repetitive, and erratic touches on the screen. At this point, the screen's protective layer is separating from the display and it is causing ghost touches that activate various functions without my input. This has occurred numerous times throughout my driving experiences and occurs every time I drive. It has led to multiple unsafe consequences while driving, the main concern being that it is distracting and confusing leading to unsafe driving conditions. For example, the navigation system has suddenly switched routes, diverting me unexpectedly causing confusion, and has led to multiple near accidents in busy intersections. Additionally, the volume has randomly increased or decreased, making it hard to hear important sounds from the environment, such as sirens or horns from other vehicles. Had this occurred in a moment in which I needed to react quickly an accident could have occurred or my safety could have been compromised. Moreover, if the radio has inadvertently changed to an unrecognized function—like activating the bluetooth or starting a call—this has been distracting pulling my attention away from the road in multiple scenarios. The vehicle has made unsolicited calls to emergency personnel which is both a distraction to me and an inconvenience to emergency personnel. Overall, the delaminating screen not only complicates my driving experience but also poses a significant safety risk to myself and others on the road. Addressing the issue promptly is essential to ensure a safe driving environment. I have tried to address this problem with Jeep directly via uconnect and have been informed that they do not believe this to be a concern that requires addressing. The problem has been diagnosed by a Jeep dealer and has been confirmed by uconnect directly. Additionally, the problem has occurred in multiple other Jeep vehicles.

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2024

I am experiencing recurring issues with the uconnect infotainment system in my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Specifically, the system consistently experiences problems with: •? ?station changes •? ?navigation functionality •? ?connecting calls through bluetooth using my phone's contact list •? ?randomly turning the heating and air conditioning system on and off these issues occur constantly, making it difficult to utilize the uconnect features safely and effectively. I am concerned about potential safety implications, such as distracted driving or loss of critical vehicle functions.

18 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/06/2024

My 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland is experiencing serious electrical malfunctions related to the uconnect radio head unit. This component appears to control or influence multiple vehicle systems beyond just audio, including climate control, backup camera, navigation, and possibly driver assistance features. The system malfunctions frequently and erratically — settings change on their own, the screen goes black or freezes, and controls become unresponsive while driving. These distractions create a serious safety hazard, as I am forced to take my attention off the road to regain control of basic functions like defrost or audio volume. I have discovered that this issue is widely reported by thousands of Jeep owners from this model year and earlier, particularly those with uconnect systems. Jeep has refused to address or recall the problem despite it clearly impacting driving safety and vehicle usability. This malfunction significantly impairs my ability to operate the vehicle safely. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this issue as a potential safety defect. I have taken my car to the dealership and was advised that the whole radio unit needs to be completely replace. I have contacted Jeep and inquired about it, they told me they are aware of the issue but at this time, unless the car is under warranty, they do not offer any financial assistance. And it is a rather expensive issue to fix considering there is no fault of the car owners that the items installed in their vehicles are faulty.

19 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2024

The touchscreen radio panel is delaminating and causing the system to freak out. Sometimes the radio will turn on by itself and blare out music, or all of the fans will turn on turbo at once. The navigation will freak out and turn off and it will auto-dial or auto-hang up phone calls. Sometimes when I am driving down the high way, the air or radio blasting from out of nowhere and totally unprompted will scare me and cause me to jerk the steering wheel or become significantly distract from the road. Yes, the problem has been confirmed by the dealer, and it is a known defect, but they will not take responsibility for the safety hazard or the cost of replacement. No inspection by any outside parties, yet. No warning signs. . The screen just started to melt/delaminate and then all of the ghost features began causing chaos while driving.

20 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2024

The uconnect screen has delaminated due to a known manufacturing defect. This causes ghost touches on the screen, posing safety risks from distraction, inability to make hands-free phone calls, and unusable navigation tools.

21 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/07/2024

I bought a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited on July 1,2024. A week after owning the vehicle the Jeep kept shutting off while driving on the interstate and the dash said “ put in p and push to start” none of the hazard lights came on. It just automatically shut off in the middle of traffic multiple times and when put into park and tried to restart it would take several attempts. This is unsafe and I’m lucky I did not get into an accident since the vehicle is just turning off while I’m driving on a busy highway not to mention almost getting into an accident since I’m given no warning. I dropped off my Jeep at the dealership and they have had it for two weeks stating they can not find any issues with the vehicle. This is frustrating and scary and do not even feel comfortable driving a the Jeep that I owned for one week. I have read several complaints in the same issue and k won’t seems to be able to find what is causing this issue.

22 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2024

Recall as known for 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited (service electronic stability control) that is not fixed and no fix in sight. Unsafe to drive. Can’t get a maine state inspection sticker. Can’t sell. Many electronic codes show on dash. Rear lights stay on and will just go on automatically anytime and when using key fob to lock car. Dealership can’t fix. Manufacturer doesn’t know when there will be a fix. No answers.

23 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/07/2024

My Jeep has stalled on me twice attempting to go through a stop sign at a busy intersection as soon as I slowed the Jeep down and then accelerated to go through the stop sign it stalled on a major hwy. No lights come on and the automatic shutoff button is turned off and for the past month the Jeep hasn’t started without either a jump or sitting a while after it was hooked to another vehicle.

24 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/03/2024

The radio is delaminating causing defects. Changes radio station randomly. Adjusts heat settings and air conditioning settings without warning. Glue is melting and running down behind radio into storage compartment.

25 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2024

Brakes failed when attempting to slow down, abs kicked in on dry blacktop with no lights on dash before locking up and throwing the vehicle off of the road. Caused me to wreck into a tree head on at 50 mph. Seatbelt did not lock up and airbags did not deploy. Vehicle was totaled with heavy front end damage including a bent and snapped frame. Prior to incident had issues with low beam headlights not working/going out prematurely. Was told by herrenstein Jeep in chillicothe this was not an electrical issue. Low beam headlights failed again 2 weeks prior to incident.

26 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2024

The screen that controls many of the functions in the vehicle is delaminating and from online forms I have researched this is a very common problem.

27 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/08/2024

The screen in my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee which controls everything (radio, navigation, climate controls, etc. ) is delaminating. This causes the screens to constantly change and override all driver selections. This is a significant safety concern and has become extremely distracting while driving. I am surprised that this has not been a safety recall, as there have been many class action investigations. This is a known manufacturing issue especially in the 2018 models.

28 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2024

The infotainment center is defective and "ghost touches" all over the screen. This is a hazard when driving as the volume will be turned all the way up or the screen changes off of navigation mode to something else. Additionally, random phone calls will be made or if I'm on the phone, the call will be ended from the random touches. This ultimately results in distracted driving. The uconnect and carplay features are designed to minimize distracted driving, however this is simply counterproductive with the screen deficiencies.

29 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/08/2024

Head rest deployed.

30 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2024

Touch screen started randomly changing radio stations, map kept popping up and it would randomly change inputs such as am, fm, sirius, etc. . Other pop up windows would appear such as updating clock, which it had already updated on its own and other window messages as well. Has happened 4 times.

31 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2024

The screen to the radio and the navigation is delaminating. This is a safety concern as the screen is uncontrollable and can not be used. This was confirmed by a Jeep dealership. Jeep will not acknowledge the problem or repair the issue.

32 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/20/2024

I wasn’t able to get out of park and there was a message to service shifter. It happened twice in one day and now the engine light is on.

33 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2024

Many 2018 Grand Cherokee radio screen are DE-laminating including mine, and on it's own which is a scary distraction changes stations suddenly constantly makes a loud beeping noise through the speakers- drops and makes phone calls, changes navigation directions - prevents you from making a phone call that could be an emergency. This should be a safety recall since it happens when you lease expect it and causes the driver to jump. And all Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealer will not cover this over a thousand dollar plus issue.

34 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2024

Stop start comes on and will turn the car off when stopped. I have to put the car in park to restart the car. The deal said that there is no recall for this issue.

35 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2024

The radio touch screen is delaminating causing the radio and its other features to change without warning creating a distraction for the driver. Navagation destination changes loosing route information causing the driver to slow down or stop to try to return to the selected route information. Phone calls are disconnected and the phone then indiscriminately dials a new number from the contact list. You hang up that call and the screen redials the number. This basically negates the functionality of the hands-free feature. This creates serious safety issues when the unit overrides driver choices, as it is distracting because it requires the driver to correct the changes brought on by the malfunctioning screen.
