1 Carburetor problem of the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/10/2004

After having a fuel pump replaced for slow starting, our 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee began suddenly accellerating for no reason or pattern (but mostly at startup). We took the auto to the local Jeep delership in brigham --- where it is now. We told them we were concerned about saftey because of the news coverage of a similar Jeep unexpectadly accellerating, jumping a curb and hitting 3 people in slc. In looking at the internet, we found several simlar saftey complaints and that Jeep(Chrysler/demler) has determined there is not enough of a pattern to address the issue. I can easily see how this problem could have severe and dire results and should be investigated.
