The driver's seat of my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee has broken for unknown reasons and , without homemade, patchwork bracing, flops back like a recliner. We have attempted to get this repaired both through our local dealer and through Chrysler corporation and they claim that they cannot secure the part; we were first told by the dealer we had to prepay for the part, did so, and then they reported back weeks later that they couldn't find the part. Unfortunately, our financial situation does not allow us to simply park the vehicle and make due. This is truly an accident waiting to happen and we would appreciate any assistance and support you can offer.

The vehicle was inspected by the dealer and it was determined the front seat recliner assembly fractured and the power adjust needed to be replaced. After the repairs were performed, the seat shifted while driving various speeds. After initial inspection, the contact determined the front seat recliner assembly was fractured again. The vehicle is awaiting further inspection by the dealer.

Driver's seat frame broke, causing the seat to wobble and make the vehicle difficult to operate safely. Cost to repair was $750.
Contact states the seat frame in vehicle broke while driving. The vehicle has not been to a service dealer yet.
Head restraint on my new Jeep Grand Cherokee limited (2005) tilts forward a few inches (compared with my previous 2002 laredo). There is no adjustment to pull the head restraint back, only an up and down option. The head restraint is pushing my head forward instead of it being straight with my body as I drive the vehicle. This turtles the head and causes headaches. The manufacturer and Jeep dealer have not provided a remedy or refund thus far.

Was driving and noticed the seat wobbling, seat mount adjuster angle bracket broken on driver's side seat. Angle bracket failed. Contact felt it was a design flaw. Dealer stated he saw bracket failure before on other vehicles. Manufacturer will not help.
Vehicle was taken to the dealer for regular maintenance. Owner was concerned that driver's seat was making noise, and results showed that frame on the seat broke and needed to be replaced, which could not provide proper safety if the vehicle were to be involved in an accident. . . .

The entire driver side seat was raised from the floor and the consumer was thrown into the back seat after being rear ended. The bolts were lifted out of the floor. The vehicle was totaled.
Driver seat frame snapped off main frame.
One of the steel brackets connecting the driver's seat in my 2000 Grand Cherokee broke away from the floor, leaving the seat (and me) to sway side to side and back and forth. I weigh 200 lbs. The car has never been in an accident. So, neither an accident or excesssive driver's weight contributed to this problem. I would guess that, if I were in an accident, the seat would probably break free from the floor. This is a highly dangerous problem that could be life threatening and should be investigated.
While driving at 30 mph, another vehicle skidded in the direction of the consumer's vehicle, when the consumer tried to avoid an collision, the consumer lost control of the vehicle and slid into a pole. Upon impact, the driver and rear seats failed without warning. As a result, all three occupants sustained back injuries.
My sister and I were hit from behind on a major highway. And when the other car hit us, both our seats broke.
