1 Speed Sensor problem of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/26/2020

I have been getting an error on my vehicle that says "service four wheel drive system" and an error that says " service antilock brake system". I've done some research online and see other people are having this problem with a dragging of the motor into the next gear and a hesitant jerk sometimes. I found out that the right speed sensor needed to be replaced. Is Jeep doing anything to reimburse customers that had to pay out of pocket.

3 Speed Sensor problem of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 12/19/2012

This vehicle is equipped with a adaptive speed sensor that keeps the vehicle at a preset distance from the vehicle in front with cruise control on. Vehicle is also equipped with a forward collision warning system which warns the driver to brake if it senses an approach of an object that is unsafe. The problems: the system will shut it self off, flashing a warning that the forward collision warning system is not working and shuts off the cruise control as well. System always resets itself after minutes, or longer and the cruise control will once again, work. Safety issue the system has the ability to brake on its own if it senses you are approaching a vehicle too fast with cruise control engaged. The problem is that a car may turn off in a separate lane to decelerate or be in a separate lane to accelerate and the sensor thinks the car is in front of it and starts braking severely cause it thinks it is in its path. This is a huge safety concern since any driver behind me would not be expecting me to brake when cars are not in my path. The vehicle has been to Jeep dealer for numerous attempts to fix it. Right now Chrysler is not doing anything about it. According to the repairing dealership, if Chrysler did decide to replace the part, its on back order.

4 Speed Sensor problem of the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/14/2012

My wife was driving our vehicle down the road and not even 2 miles the vehicle would not let her go faster than 30 mph and the vehicle would not shift out of gear. The check engine light came on and we took it to get an obii scan. The code that was prompted was an esm malfunction or transmission speed sensor. I am having so much trouble finding a speed sensor that is available and high priced. The esm is not hardly available anywhere except at a dealer. I have been reading tonight online and there have been many cases of these problems happening with some more severe incidents. If so many people are having shifting, esm and speed sensor issues, shouldn't this issue be addressed. I am pretty sure this isn't the first issue or complaint. I have a 3 year old and a vehicle that was named a Smart buy by consumer guide automotive in 2006 and the redefining vehicle of Jeeps flagship is a hazard and unsafe for my family. I will not be recommending a Jeep of this year to anyone. I hope you take this incident with thoughtful consideration and start thinking about your consumers safety. 5 Speed Sensor problem of the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/01/2012

My wife was driving and just about to get onto the interstate and with no warning, she couldn't accelerate past 25-30mph. Luckily she was able to pull to the side of the road quickly without an issue and turned the car off, waited a minute and started the Jeep up again and was then able to accelerate. When talking to the dealer, they have never heard of this problem before. When Jeep was checked at a local dealer, they pulled error codes that pointed to the transmission speed sensor. Only about $700 to replace that with labor!! the sensors are all part of the circuit board and thus need to dismantle the transmission to replace the sensors. Then I get on this site and see all the complaints with the same issue. This weekend I'm going car searching to get rid of this thing.

Failure Date: 06/01/2004

99 Jeep Grand Cherokee with engine problems customer states that the rpm's would immediately go up to the 200 or sometimes higher as soon as he starts up the car and also accelerate when the brakes are applied* the consumer stated various parts were replaced, however the problem returned. The consumers wife was driving, when all of a sudden the vehicle started to accelerate on its own, she applied the brakes as hard as she could, however the vehicle continued to proceed in a forward motion. The only solution was to place the vehicle into park. After placing the vehicle in park, the consumers wife placed it in drive again and immediately it started to accelerate uncontrollably. Applying the brakes with full force did not solve the problem. When aaa arrived and started the vehicle, nothing happened. The right front wheel speed sensor was replaced. The coolant radiator fan relay and water pump were replaced. The air bag light was on, the transmission seal was leaking. The fuel pump was replaced.
