1 Warnings problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/12/2025

"randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (italian). Coinciding with the switch to italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. All change, and many other random settings change as well. ***this is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. I have taken it to the dealer twice, and they say there is nothing they can do and to wait for a possible software update, but none has come and it has been over a year. When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the fca off lamp). According to various Jeep owner forums, some dealers have been able to reset something and temporarily correct the issue, but they charge for this service, and the issue returns randomly again. . 3 Warnings problem of the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/07/2025

Transmission failed. Stuck in drive while on busy road, could not put vehicle in park or neutral and could not turn vehicle off. Drove very slowly to dealership because no one would tow without being able to turn it off and stuck in drive. Dealership did diagnostic and decided transmission needed replaced. Safety of other drivers were put at risk because car could not be taken out of drive and could not be shut off. No warning lamps, no messages prior to failure. Message came on to place vehicle in park to reset after trouble started but nothing worked at that time. Would not go into neutral or park. The emergency brake had to be used to keep car from moving forward. I recently had transmission replaced (1/24/2025) and now have a check engine light on with a code reads p1dca park sensor circuit open.

4 Warnings problem of the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/01/2024

My 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee touch screen is delaminating. I have attempted to contact uconnect and Jeep. Uconnect initially agreed to replace the screen free of charge after having it diagnosed, but once I had it diagnosed and called back uconnect claimed the first representative that approved the replacement was wrong and now refuses to rectify the situation. The screen has "ghost" touches - basically selecting options by itself, and the back up camera delays or freezes some of the time, not displaying the live video. The dealer diagnosed the delamination. There were no warnings or other indications of a problem. I only learned what was causing these issues by googling the bubbles in my screen. Based on the research I've done since, it appears this problem will get worse, changing climate control settings, system settings, heater settings, entertainment (radio) settings, and "drive mode" type settings eventually. I have seen so many posts on it spanning multiple models and model years, all related to the same problem with the same symptoms, it should really qualify for a recall. I am afraid to let my soon-to-be 16 yr old drive my car because of the distraction this defect can cause, and there is no prevention or reasonable remedy. The screen has not been intentionally damaged, no wipes or other products have been used on it regularly, and it is kept garaged when it is not being driven. The vehicle is used in a normal manner -driving to/from work and practice on city streets and highways, and is not subject to abuse. From my research it is a manufacturer's defect in the screen itself, which can only be avoided or resolved by replacing the unit. If owners don't cause the issue, and can't prevent it by any kind of regular maintenance, training, or care, then it isn't an issue owners should suffer safety concerns or financial obligations over.

6 Warnings problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 06/17/2024

A service was scheduled to repair the rear view camera visibility in which the dealership failed to complete. The recall repair performed did not fix the situation. The rear view camera still shows up as a blue screen as well as the parksense sensors not working at all. This is a huge safety issue as nothing is shown when backing up and no sensors work. This problem occurred randomly while starting the vehicle and has not worked since then.

7 Warnings problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/01/2024

My vehicles electrical system has completely stopped working due to a software update that Jeep is applying to their vehicles. For some reason my vehicle is not up for recall for this issue.

8 Warnings problem of the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 04/27/2024

The component is known to fail on Jeep forums weather it fails completely or was not installed properly and may loose its functionality. The event is when towing a trailer and reversing the car will see the trailer as an obstruction and will engage the brakes. The car is alleged to have an automatic system that when towing is supposed to turn the parking assist sensors off to prevent the event occuring. If that system isn't present there is a button that should allow you to turn the parking system off which it does for about two seconds and start backing up the trailer, then it will automatically turn back on and see the trailer and lock the brakes up which is jarring and startling to say the least. I am fairly certain this could cause an accident if it hasn't already.

10 Warnings problem of the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 04/17/2024

Bought my Jeep used in sept 2023. For the first time hooked it up to my small trailer to pick something up. Pulled around and went to reverse and the rear park assist braking jammed on. At first I wasn't concerned. I knew there was a way to turn them off based on my Jeep manual. Unfortunately, the park assist would not turn off. Neither the park assist button on dash nor the settings in the computer screen would turn them off. The light on the dash button would turn on for 2 seconds but then turn right back off. In the computer settings , I would click the rear park assist to uncheck it. It would uncheck for a few seconds then check mark would come right back again. I tried to turn off the front park assist in the computer just to see what would happen. I can't turn those off either. This is extremely dangerous. I was very lucky I discovered this before I left my property. What if I was in a busy place, road, parking lot, etc. So I do have an appt with my dealer tomorrow, who claims to have never heard of this issue before. . But after doing simple google searches on the internet, I found numerous instances of many mopar vehicles, like my Jeep gc, Dodge durango, Chrysler pacifica, etc. Who have had the same exact issue when they try to tow something and cannot turn off the park assist feature to back up with a trailer attached. I also called the fca us customer service line to tell them about this and they said they had never heard of this problem. Yet in the many forums I found where people have posted about this issue, they have had to get software update done on the park assist module to fix this issue. So it is known, but fca is not admitting to it being an issue. This should be a recall, or if nothing else, considered a necessary upgrade. Also found you have a report in your system already on this issue and I found a Jeep service bulletin related to this issue as well. I will see what the dealer says tomorrow.

11 Warnings problem of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

12 Warnings problem of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 12/06/2023

1. At 63263 miles adas front parking sensor and at 96000 miles active park assist modules are failing with a pop up message asking for a service. The parts are working intermly but, I believe it could potentially mislead the driver when parking using active park assist and can cause and injury or damage if the safety system fails. It was inspected by a dealer before but exact diagonisis was not provided. 2. Air suspension system warning came up at around 96000 miles. I immediatly took it to a dealer who charged 1800+ dollars to inspect and replaced a valve block mentioning c1556 code and said the poblem was sorted. I checked my car and the system warning still exists. They took the car immediatly and kept for 4 days and mentioned the air compressor in air suspension could be weak and over heating causing it to fail. They mentioned there were no leaks on any air bags of the suspension and quoted a 3400$ additional cost of repair. I believe the inital diagonisis was incorrect or not up to the mark (the part is available for inspection) from the dearlership as there were no clear indication of what was the root cause. This suspension failure could cause the ride height to fail any time and can cause imbalance while stopping the vehicle at higher speeds as it has an aero mode. The air ride system is working intermily depending on the climatic conditions the components are malfunctioning which has to be addressed by the fca group.

Hello, there is a few things going on with this vehicle, this is a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 27k miles. Uploading recalls on this vehicle. 1. It has a fuel leak, this is a vehicle that does not have a gas cap, it has been fully diagnosed by the dealer, they want to charge $900. 00 to repair plus a $250. 00 diagnostic fee. 2. Car would not move, stopped abruptly, had to turn car on and off while in traffic in order to get car going, almost causing an accident. 3. Car will tell you its about to hit another car when it's not and will turn on and off while driving, almost causing an accident. Dealer does not want to take a look at the car unless you pay them $250. 00, want to keep the car for a week and does not want to provide a car rental while car is under their diagnostic phase. Dealer assessing the car is kendall Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram at 13355 sw 137th Ave, miami, FL 33186, spoke to lazaro varas, assistant service manager. Please guide me on what to do, thank you. 14 Warnings problem of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 10/11/2023

I accidently backed into a tree when my parking warning system and blind spot warning system didn't work. Damage to my vehicle was to the right rear quarter panel, bumper, tailgate and tail light. It was only after the accident occurred, that I found out that Jeep had a recall for the rearview camera visibility system. I feel that Jeep should be responsible for the repairs. My insurance company advised me to file a complaint with you and also with Jeep before they become involved. Please advise me as to what steps I should take. Thank you james stapleton.

15 Warnings problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/10/2023

The forward collision warning light comes on display cluster during start indicating it is turned off. Adaptive cruise control does not appear to be working because it doesn't give warning upon closing in on the vehicle in front of my vehicle and I have had to react by tapping brake to turn the cruise off. Parking collision warning works intermittently. These problems showed up after a software update done at dealership. When I took it in recently was told they could not find any problems.

Had multiple close encounters with vehicles in front of us suddenly stopping and no response from system, also front parking sensors do not indicate when approaching an object until almost in contact, might get a visual on dash cluster, then a the audible afterwards, long time in between getting back in vehicle and starting ti leave, now sensors are both visual and beeping one more item, using the self parking feature, gad to apply brakes before feeling that our vehicle was going to hit vehicle behind us in spot.

17 Warnings problem of the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/16/2023

The computer/screen died disabling most of the essential controls/functions of the vehicle including: hands free calling, control of the temperature/air flow, park assist/safety options, security features. This issue also disabled the ability to control other functions such as the windshield wipers and drained the battery until it died. The battery had to be recharged and then after that any time I turned the car off I had to unplug the battery so that it wouldn’t be drained.

19 Warnings problem of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 12/27/2022

For my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee: the uconnect touchscreen which controls everything from the parking assist functions to navigation to climate is delaminating. As a result of the delaminating screen, the screen will malfunction while driving the vehicle causing it 1) become permanently "stuck" on the rear back up camera/parking assist mode or 2) override driver selections and prompt the driver to select/deselect other functions unrelated to driving causing dangerous distractions and impacting our ability to use the car and system safely.

20 Warnings problem of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 10/21/2022

I was driving to work with the heated seat on. I began to feel my lower back getting extremely hot. I leaned forward and when I did I could smell something burning and my back began to burn. I quickly pulled over and jumped out of the car as quickly as possibly to see that my seat had physical flame coming from it. I contacted Jeep about the situation and was ultimately told it was somehow not a manufacturing issue. In addition to the seat fire my touch screen has completely delaminated and sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. Making it a safety hazard with the back up camera only showing when screen is operational. The screen also does things on its own. Changing radio stations, blasting radio volume, turning on/off. This is extremely distracting while driving.

21 Warnings problem of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/08/2022

8. 4 inch screen in Jeep is ghost touching buttons switching from different settings automatically. Screen will turn on and off different features automatically to include back up camera, climate control, radio and bluetooth. This is a safety concern because it requires me to constantly turn on and off settings that it is automatically switching between. I have yet to take the vehicle into a dealer but have talked to the dealer and Jeep customer service and they are aware of the issue due to its frequency. The vehicle has not been inspected yet but problem is common and dealer and manufacturer are aware of the issue from the many different cars with the problem. Prior to the screen automatically activating different features the screen had began to delaminate.

22 Warnings problem of the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 03/02/2022

The license plate led lights went out. Pulled over by trooper to get them replaced, as they are a safety concern for troopers to identify the license plate number. After a few trips to a couple auto parts store, I learned that none of them carry lights. One of the parts stores representative said I would need to get in touch with Jeep. Jeep confirmed, that they need to replace the wiring harness and lights for this model year which is 2015. I looked online and it seems to affect model years 2014-2019. Jeep wants to charge nearly 200. 00 to fix the issue. If the lights are required for safety concerns and help with backup camera to make it more visible in the dark, then this should be a concern to owners of Jeep Grand Cherokee model. There are no warning lights to let you know the lights are out until you get pulled over and ticketed by the police or you go to get the vehicle inspected and told you need a costly repair. If Jeep knows about this defect, they should be doing a recall for the issue.

23 Warnings problem of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 12/12/2021

Electronic stability control and check engine lights on. Remote start and auto park stopped working. Dealer says not covered . 43000 miles. Quoted 1400. 00 to repair.

24 Warnings problem of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/13/2021

The automatic braking system/parking collision system on our vehicle regularly causes it to slam on the brakes when the vehicle is in reverse, despite there not being any objects anywhere close to the vehicle. We have had this occur when we are trying to get out of oncoming traffic into a parking space, move out of the way of oncoming traffic into a driveway or parking garage, and when trying to back the car out of oncoming traffic to avoid a collision. This problem has been inspected by, and reproduced by, the dealer (dishman Jeep in spokane, wa). No other individuals have inspected the components causing this issue. There were no other warnings or symptoms of the problem before they appeared--just the slamming on of the brakes in reverse accompanied by a loud noise and message on the dash about potential collision, despite there being no objects or people anywhere close by.

26 Warnings problem of the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 02/09/2021

I have had continued issues with my vehicle for over four months. It started as noticing the "favorite artist" button not working on the vehicle correctly. It then changed to the screen restarting while I was driving down the road, sometimes multiple times. It then progressed to the backup camera freezing, which has almost caused multiple accidents. The dealership upgraded the software, replaced the backup camera, and most recently replaced the radio itself. After multiple visits and time spent waiting for my vehicle to be fixed under warranty, there doesn't seem to be anything else they can do to fix my problem. I believe my vehicle is a lemon, and I do not feel safe with the electrical issues. Since testing and getting replacement parts, my vehicle continues to restart its screen randomly, the backup camera freezes, and the artist button does not work half the time. The screen restarting mid drive freaks me out because it just stops and restarts, and the backup issue is a major safety concern. It often stays frozen for long periods of time. (not able to upload video evidence, only picture of screen). Screen at one point wouldn't let me back up without turning off the parking sensors because it thought their was something behind the car, and there was physically nothing to make the sensor think that way. Have had multiple service calls trying to fix the issue and am now going to venture down the lemon law lane.

27 Warnings problem of the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 02/01/2021

The rear parking assist break does not turn off, yes it is available for inspection. I had an emergency, I could not reverse out of my parking spot because the emergency break would automatically stop my vehicle, it was sensing there was something behind it. The problem has been confirmed by dealer stated it is an internal failure with the factory radio. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, they say, it's out of warranty so they are not responsible even though this was a defect since the beginning. I mentioned it to the dealer when I took my car for service, when I first purchased it, they said all I had to do was turn off the park assist button, that did not work. This is very concerning, its a safety hazard if I can not go on reverse due to the break automatically stopping my vehicle and impeding me from going on reverse. Jeep and mopar are ware of this issue. I am not the only person that has complained about this safety hazard/concern. There are countless individuals that have complained about the same issue.

28 Warnings problem of the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/29/2021

The screen in my car will get stuck on my reverse camera, freeze that way for minutes after I've put the car into drive. It will also randomly cut off and back on which is distracting and annoying.

29 Warnings problem of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/19/2021

The screen that displays radio and navigation and rear backup camera freezes up and camera will not display. The system does this intermittently and will power itself off and on. Sometimes it will not reboot unless I stop, put the vehicle in park, turn off the engine, restart the engine and take vehicle out of park. It is very distracting and unsafe to freeze up and lose the display. This has happened when I'm driving in town and on the highway and also when vehicle is parked. This has been ongoing since December 2020. The radio module has been replaced once. The security gateway module has been replaced but nothing has helped. I've taken in back 4 times since January 2021 for the same issues.

30 Warnings problem of the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/05/2020

I shifted from park to drive to reverse out of my parking space to shift to drive. I was driving on the road when I noticed the screen stuck on the reverse image. It was bot do anything and remained frozen until I reached my destination.

31 Warnings problem of the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 06/25/2020

I was driving down the road and all of a sudden all the lights on the dash lit up and then the vehicle completely shut down, with no power. This happened while I was driving, so thank god it happen late when there was no traffic. I immediately smelled electrical burning and there was absolutely no power to the vehicle. I had to have the vehicle towed to the dealership. The dealership determined that the alternator burned up and damaged the battery. This exact issue is recall t36 but Jeep states that that recall does not apply to my vehicle because I have a 220amp alternator. Obviously, if my vehicle experienced the exact same symptom that the t36 recall is for, the 220amp alternator is also affected. The initial repair cost me $1500. A month later I had to have another repair for $3000, due to electrical issues, where the parking assist and blind spot assist modules went out, along with a headlamp motor assembly. It has been 3 months since that repair and now I have more electrical issues. The check engine light has come on again and I get a service 4wd system, the heat is intermittent, and my temp gauge doesn't move. I have been emailing back and forth with Jeep customer care but they just keep saying that the t36 alternator issue doesn't apply to my vehicle.
