Failure Date: 10/09/2025

This happened 4 tines before randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (italian). Coinciding with the switch to italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. All change, and many other random settings change as well. ***this is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. I have taken it to the dealer twice, and they say there is nothing they can do and to wait for a possible software update, but none has come and it has been over a year. When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the fca off lamp). According to various Jeep owner forums, some dealers have been able to reset something and temporarily correct the issue, but they charge for this service, and the issue returns randomly again. Here is an example forum discussion, indicating many if not all vehicles are affected: [xxx] many people on the forum believe this issue did not start until a software update a year or so ago. This is a well known and widespread problem, and there is even a dot bulletin on the issue: dot. Report bulletins because this is dangerous (for settings/gauges/units to no longer be useful while driving), and it occurs randomly, I strongly believe this issue should be a manufacturer recall. I am available for any needs. " information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe's automatic emergency braking (aeb) system engaging while turning left when there was no car or pedestrian in front of us. 9 Warnings problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/03/2025

Without warning or being given an option to reject the update, my vehicle was updated to settings that no longer offer paddle shifting or the ability to enable or disable the pedestrian emergency braking (peb) system. The latter results in being unable to turn off the forward collision off light on the dashboard. The update also wiped out most of my settings and changed units of measure to the metric system. 12 Warnings problem of the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/19/2025

On several occasions, fcw activated unexpectedly in low risk situations (in driveway, pulling into neighborhood) may 2024 & Nov 2024. While driving 60mhp on a 4 lane highway during rush hour on may 19, fcw activated unexpectedly; immediately taking me down to 20mhp. The “brake” warning and beeping remained with the brakes activated for 30-60 seconds. I was unable to accelerate. Vehicles behind me had to swerve to avoid impact. As I was pulling off the highway immediately following, fcw activated again and I was nearly rear-ended. There were no vehicles in front of me for a least a mile during these incidents. Vehicle has been inspected by 3 separate certified Jeep mechanic. All claim they cannot identify an issue with the vehicle as there are no active codes in the system. The dealer has not been able to reproduce the concern. It appears to happen every couple thousand miles. My safety and my family’s safety and other drivers are at risk if this vehicle remains on the road unfixed. The sudden braking could cause a major accident. Jeep refuses to address the issue. The dealer insists nothing is wrong because the issue is not found.

13 Warnings problem of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/12/2025

The Jeep uconnect system control screen has delaminated form normal use which is a well documented issue on thousands of Jeeps from online research. The delamination now has the vehicle pushing buttons on the screen by itself and changing safety parameters while driving. I have a video showing that while I am driving and not pushing any buttons the screen is frantically changing steering parameters, braking parameters, collision avoidance, lane departure, blind spot, etc. I have a video of the incident and screen doing this by itself. I can not upload it due to size, but please contact me for the video and I will send it.

14 Warnings problem of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/07/2025

Forward collision system and rear collision system (park sense) are malfunctioning/not operating properly. Dealer stated that it is a "known issue with no known fix. " I had two incidents that almost resulted in accidents before I assumed that the system was not working properly. There a no warning lights or indicators showing faults with the systems.

15 Warnings problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 03/12/2025

While driving the vehicle(speed does not matter as this has occurred while standing at a stop light) all safety warning lights illuminate on the dash and render all of my safety features inoperative. This includes: abs, forward collision avoidance, rear collision avoidance, and park assist. Once this happens the vehicle becomes extremely difficult to operate and to stop. The remedy is to pull over, turn the vehicle off and open the drivers side door to shut off the rac (retained accessory control), let the vehicle sit for a minute or two, then restart the vehicle. All light will remain off and the car will function normally. This issue occurs at least 2-3 times per week and is extremely frustrating. I've taken the vehicle to the dealership several times for what they have determined to be a "software issue". Several trips have been for recalls, others have been for this issue and my infotainment system going black. The infotainment system going black is the second major issue with this vehicle. The dealership was able to get the system operating again with an additional software update, however it has not completely remedied the problem. The infotainment system will still black out, but for only a quick second, then it comes back on. When it does this, I loose all settings including profiles and siriusxm programmed stations. I've done a master reset on the infotainment system and have had it back to the dealership, but it still has not been 100% resolved. This is a safety risk when it blacks out as I loose navigation, audio, and bluetooth connectivity. Now my attention is not on the road but on the failed system. Dates and timeframe for service: Dec 18, 2024. Returned Dec 19, 2024: electrical work Dec 6, 2024. Returned Dec 17, 2024: electrical work Nov 11, 2024. Returned Nov 14, 2024: electrical work sept 7, 2024. Returned sept 7, 2024: warranty recall\oil change & tire rotation July 12, 2022. Returned July 12, 2022: electrical work-software.

16 Warnings problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 03/10/2025

The vehicle in September of 2024 after a software update randomly changed the settings. The forward collision off warning light remains on (in settings the forward collision is "on", the language changed to italian, the paddle shifters stopped working, the units changed, and the grid for the backup camera was turned off). I had it serviced at Jeep. They reset the vehicle which temporarily fixed the issue, however, 3 weeks later it happened again. There is a known mopar/star case number s2108000249. This is also reported in Jeep forum. My safety is at risk due to the failure of the forward collision warning light/software malfunction. I feel that I am at risk for a forward collision. Also the paddle shifters don't work.

21 Warnings problem of the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/19/2024

When driving down interstate five in san diego, my vehicle decided that it wanted to come to a screeching halt suddenly as the forward collision system activated randomly, causing my neck to jolt and a distill in pain. I had no idea what was going on, but in order to try to get out of the way of traffic, I quickly tried to override what the system was doing after coming to a complete stop, then the accelerator stuck getting the vehicle going over 100 mph. The hybrid system only shut down the gas engine, but the electric was still propelling the vehicle to go forward. I had to hit the button to turn the vehicle to gas only and shift into neutral in order for the vehicle to finally stop getting below 100 miles per hour to where I could safely pull over to the side of the road. I called Jeep and they laughed.

22 Warnings problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 09/27/2024

Driving down a road at 50mph during daylight hours. It was sprinkling and vehicle was in electric mode. There were no cars in front of me, or behind me at the time. While my foot was on the accelerator, there was a loss of power then collision warning engaged out of nowhere with the audible beeps, flashing on the instrument cluster, and sharp braking. The incident was brief, but certainly a safety hazard as there were no indications the automated emergency braking was going to occur.

24 Warnings problem of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/28/2024

For my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the antilock braking system, hydraulic control unit has failed. It is currently being repaired by the dealership, and I will request the old part so that it is available for inspection. The failure of the abs control unit, disabled the electronic stability control, the forward collision warning system and the cruise control - and the issue appears to be directly equivalent to the current stellantis recall for ram 1500's of a similar year. The dealer was able to reproduce the error - and was inspected at a Jeep dealership.

25 Warnings problem of the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/20/2024

The system does not work in my 2024 Grand Cherokee. My dealer agreed to take me out for a drive and after several attempts to get the system to engage (straight on rear end, corner of a stopped vehicle, corner of an exiting vehicle) nothing! no audible, visual or brake jerk. The technician was an awesome driver because he scared the ---- out of us trying to get the system to engage. Service advisor had the tech take out another 2024 gc to perform the same test. We went with him. Same thing. . . . . Nothing. In both suvs multiple tests at varying distance setting were performed. They tried to tell us that nothing is wrong because when diagnostics were run there were no codes, no error messages so no problem. Told them that isn't good enough. They finally agreed to open a "star" (I think) report with corporate and I will be taking my gc into the shop on September 11th through the 13th. There are many other Jeep owners stating the same thing. Effects multiple models and multiple model years. [xxx] has threads that are discussing the problem and Jeep cares is a member of that forum. I have also seen complaints on a Jeep compass owners site. I believe Jeep is fully aware but many owners may not be familiar with how the system works. Dealerships are telling customers that they can't fix the system because the diagnostics aren't registering a fault. I had three incidents where I was cutoff by other drivers and the system did not engage. The system is supposed to work at 3 miles per hour or greater, but it doesn't work at all. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

26 Warnings problem of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/12/2024

Navigation touch screen delamination rendering the user interface that controls many of the car's functions inoperable. Many of the advanced driver assistance systems along with settings for the car's engine, suspension, and steering are controlled through this interface. This is a widespread issue in the wk2 models of Jeep Grand Cherokees. Safe operation of the vehicle is predicated on a functioning touch screen. The car cannot completely be operated safely without this user interface. I reached out to stellantis with my concerns. Stellantis will not cover the cost of replacing the screen once the car is out of warranty. These cars are unsafe to operate without a functioning touch screen.

27 Warnings problem of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/07/2024

Frequently all lights go on while driving check engine goes on here and there on the highway. Loud noise when you start the car and continues for about 2 min after the car is turned off as well. . All lights went on and was unable to move the vehicle in the middle of a street. I have taken the vehicle in several times to 2 different dealers and I am told there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s a danger to my family and I for the car to continue to do these things as the car is unable to be moved. .

28 Warnings problem of the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/06/2024

Fca pushed an involuntary software update to our car on August 6, 2024. It completed about 75% of the update and froze, rendering our display and systems unusable. Our back-up camera only works intermittently as does many of the adas safety features. We have no temperature controls or radio either. We have been to the dealer multiple times and they are being told by fca that the entire unit needs to be replaced. A search of social media (reddit) shows that others may be having the same safety issue. The dealer says they have had four more incidents come into their shop.

29 Warnings problem of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/01/2024

My Jeep has a screen on the dashboard that controls the radio, navigation, and settings for the vehicle (I. E. The main "navigation screen"). All of the safety and advanced driver assistance systems are controlled through this screen and user interface. There is no other way to control/adjust these systems. There is a widespread issue with the late generation wk2 Jeep Grand Cherokees where the screen delaminates, rendering the entire screen and user interface non-functional. This results in a safety issue where multiple systems (including the adas) cannot be cannot be adjusted or used. I reached out to Jeep/Chrysler/stellantis for assistance in repairing/replacing the screen. The denied a claim to repair or replace the screen. I do not feel safe operating a vehicle where I cannot control or adjust critical operations of the car. I believe this widespread issue of screen delamination should be considered for a recall.

30 Warnings problem of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/20/2024

While driving lost the power brakes making stopping vehicle incredibly difficult having to apply excessive force to brake pedal and shift into neutral to stop. Vehicle could not be driven for service and needed to be towed. If my wife had been driving her car, she would not be able to stop as I (her husband) had to apply leg force as much as I could apply to get vehicle to slow down and had to shift to neutral to stop. We avoided being in an accident but it was very close. Vehicle has been towed for repair and currently do not know what is wrong with the vehicle but it is definitely a safety concern.

On Jan 17, 2024, at 5:39 pm, I was driving the vehicle in electric save mode, where the temperature was around -19 degree on that day and I was heading for car wash, during that time, the vehicle in front of me applied a break. I was at safe distance I applied the break as the distance was close even the anti-breaking system did not work on hitting the vehicle at that time, and then it bummed three times. I was in shock at the vehicle's behavior and lost confidence in it. So the police office impounded the vehicle. To make the road safe. None of the air bags were deployed. I am having trouble picturing what would happen if this were on the freeway.
