When I went in for a recall on 08/03/2018 for my vehicles lower control arms I was informed that my upper and lower passenger ball joints were very loose and corroded. My lower ball joints have apparently been replaced before in a recall in 2006. When I left the dealership my vehicle seemed fine until I took a right turn and heard loose parts bumping around on the right hand side. I have gotten another mechanics opinion on this and the upper and lower ball joints are loose/ broken even after this recall was performed to my vehicle.
My 2004 Jeep Liberty is needing new ball joints placed along with the upper control arms. I did see where a recall was placed for most 2002-2006 models. Heard some kind of pop, then some grinding when holding the brake down and turning the wheel. Took car to my regular mechanic. They found all 4 ball joints boots perforated & handed me a recall notice for lower ball joints only that was from sept. 2006. I purchased the vehicle Jan. 2006 & never rec'd this recall. Even when I went to the dealer for the fuel tank recall on 7/11/15, they didn't notify me of it. I went on moparownerconnect. Com & it shows this recall as repaired, which obviously isn't possible. According to audomd. Com there are several issues related to this vehicle through different manufacturers. I have an appt. Set up at the dealer next week & depending on what they say about fixing all the ball joints and checking for other safety concerns, I may be sending in another complaint.

In 2006 the dealer claimed to replace the lower ball joints per the safty recall. We had been experiencing a loosness and rattle in the suspension lately. Upon inspection it was noted that the lower ball joints were very loose and this Jeep has only 18400 miles on it. I suspect that the dealer just signed off on this safty recall instead of doing the required work. We have kept the suspected ball joints for inspection and further investigation in this safety related mater.

I purchased my 2004 Jeep Liberty 3 months ago from the Jeep dealership in rockville, MD. This week I got a letter in the mail saying that there was a safety recall on the lower ball joints, immediately after reading this I called my dealership to make an appointment to get this fixed. The dealership tells me that the parts are on backup and wont be in the shop for a few months! this is a huge concern and problem, I share this vehicle with my 21 year old sister and am afraid of our power steering going out on us and causing a dangerous accident. A few months is way too long to wait on a recall as serious as this! I would appreciate help with this very serious issue. Thank you.
My dealership has failed to address a safety recall within a reasonable period of time. The recall was issued by daimler Chrysler over 12 months ago, and I've registered my vehicle with both the manufacturer and the dealership. However, I've not received any follow-up since the registration. This is unacceptable.
