I had just gotten off the highway and took the wrong turn so in the middle of the street I tried to whip a uturn and when I turned my wheel to the left I heard a loud crack and my vehicle was unlevel so I asked my passenger to see if we had blown a tire and he said it looked fine but I got out and looked and saw that the whole entire wheel assembly fell off. I had brake fluid draining in the street and there was the piece (control arm) that was snapped in half leaving my car stuck and broken .

I was driving on the highway with the sky slider open and the wind snapped the roof off of the tracks causing it to fly back. I put a wind damage claim into usaa and was denied as they feel it is a manufacturer defect and the roof was poorly made unable to withstand normal driving speeds. After a nationwide search they were unable to find replacement parts and the vehicle is roofless and not able to be driven.

I am still paying for my vehicle and I am very disappointed that the sky slider has a manufacturers defect. When I opened the sky slider it came off track and I am unable to close it securely. I have being in touch with original dealer and have been told that I have to pay for repair and it was not guarantee to last.

The roof is leaking all around when it rains or snows. I have reported this several times to the dealership. Water actually drips inside the vehicle, onto the shifting area, seats, and the center of the dashboard where the radio is located. The water also drips from the front light ceiling fixture, which may be creating an electrical issue. The water is coming in from where the roof rack tracks begin and end, and runs down toward the middle of the vehicle. This issue seriously needs to be resolved immediately. The rubber stripping that is holding the roof rack tracks onto the vehicle are either corroding, or the reinforcement agent/s are not working.
Skyslider roof unhinges off track and leaks terribly. Almost blew off on highway while driving 65 mph. Cannot be put back on track.

Jeep Liberty window regulator bracket failure. I have had three window regulator bracket failures on my 2005 Jeep Liberty making the window inoperable. One of the failures was within 60 days or replacement. There is no point replacing the equipment if it breaks right away. It's a very bad design and going over a bump can cause he window to suddenly crash down, fortunately mine didn't break. How is this not a recall? I only have approximately 80,000 mile son my Jeep.

Skyslider top -well maintained. Closed top while parked in driveway and top came off track or cable snapped. Forced closed now but lifts when driving over 40mph. This is second time happening. I am not the only person this is happening to and Chrysler needs to own up to their design failure before trying to "improve" it and add to other vehicles. The skyslider top was the main selling feature of the new Jeep Libertys.
While driving down the freeway, my vinyl sky slider roof flew off the tracks and broke the plastic pieces that hold the roof on. The roof is un repairable due to parts being discontinued.
Sky roof was replaced because it fell off track. It is now starting to do it again and dealer is refusing to replace it under a warranty. Seals are not tight and allow air through to the track. It then starts to lift and fold when going over 40 mph. I am afraid it is going to fly off the track completely while moving. The certified technician already told me that the sky roofs break easily and that is why they don't make them any more. They should all be recalled if are continuing to have problems and they are not going to replace them.
On my Jeep Liberty kk I have the power skyslider. It constantly comes off track and doesn't close so when I get in the car after it rains everything is wet. It has come to that im afraid that when I'm driving at high way speeds that the roof with fly off and cause an accident. I didn't do antthing to cause this issue. It is a design flaw by Jeep and I want them to own up to it and put out a recall because it is unsafe and impractical to use the car after it rains.
My 2008 Jeep Liberty 'sky slider' roof has flown off the track while driving down the highway (while my children were in the car!!) and now does not securely stay closed. This is a huge safety issue.
The sky view roof malfunctioned, came loose began to catch air. I believed that if I was going faster it would have blown off. The roof came off its track. It needed repair to replace "pins and reset the switch" I was told by the mechanic this is a chronic issue and a costly one. The vehicle was in motion on an off ramp I was going apx. 35. Mph the used car dealer warranted the repair but stated it was likely to happen again.

I have a "sky slider" on my Jeep and it opens on its own when driving down the highway and will not close. It has also gotten off-track several times causing it not to close properly.
Rear passenger window is off track and keeps falling into the door. I was driving on a city street when it first occured, but now it continues to fall into the door even if I'm stationary.

I had left my convertible roof cracked open as it was hot when I went to the grocery store. Approximately 6-8 inches open. I began driving home and was travelling at 45 mph when I heard the roof flip open and was flapping in the air. I quickly reduced my speed and was able to reach up and grab the roof to pull it back down. I held the roof down by hand for the remainder of the drive home until I could inspect the equipment. Upon closer inspection, the track slider on the passenger side has broken and does not respond to the motor when opening or closing the skyslider convertible roof. Also both pins holding in the roof to the track sliders had popped out of their mounting brackets. Had I been driving faster than 45 mph I'm sure there would have been more damage as I have read similar complaints here stating the same problem. This is a major safety issue and an extremely expensive repair, between $2,500 and $3,500. What if the roof were to fly off completely and harm my child in the backseat, or another person driving near me on the road at the same time?.
Two claims filed per this complaint. 1) sky slider leak; failure - overhaul/replacement required due to track/cable failure. Was leaking into vehicle, as well as leaking into dome light. Inspected per Jeep authorized dealer, confirmed sky slider no longer properly sealing and has failed, requiring total system overhaul and replacement. Referencing various NHTSA documented claims, it already a known issue and in need of resolution. . I was responsible for paying all costs associated with repair, which was over $4000. 00 total. Additionally, the vehicle has suffered a substantial drop in overall resale value due to vehicles reputation for having costly defects and overlooked for recall and warranty. Dealer performed repair at my expense, but I am currently requesting that this claim is properly reviewed for a proper, more cost-effective solution to defective unit. 2) vehicle suffers from temporary rough idle and significant drops in rpm's, nearly stalling itself out. Also begins suffering from intermittent loss of vehicle and device related functions such as loss of horn function, intermittent or partial lights function or window operation. On 2 different occasions while operating under the erratic conditions, the rear window hatch unlocked itself as though the button was hit on mfr. Key fob. These issue occurs randomly and typically last no more than 5 minutes before normal operation returns. Due to lack of information on the cause of this issue, what components are effected and what the specific defect is capable of performing, it is something needing to be looked into for proper resolution.
When I tried to open the sliding sky roof the sticky (tape) part became unstuck from the sliding sky roof and stuck to the car's frame that caused the sliding sky roof to break off the track preventing it from opening and/or closing. If driven now it will blow off and be hazardous.
I was driving my 2008 Jeep Liberty skyslider on a local road at around 40 mph. The roof ( a convertible type) began rattling and came off the tracks while in the close position causing the roof to fly up. I contacted Jeep and they have no remedy for this although after looking this up online, there are tons a similar incidents. A car in which the roof flies up is a major safety hazard and Jeep should be liable since this doesn't seem to be an isolated incident.
The sky slider on the 2008 Jeep Liberty is defective and Jeep will not do anything about it!!! this is ridiculous! it is going to cost $2,000 to get the thing fixed! I don't even open the thing and when it broke it was closed!!! I was driving in a storm and the wind caught it and broke it. Dealership is telling me I have to have a whole new system. . . Tracks and all! this is crazy!!! I called Jeep for some help with this issue and they said there is nothing they can do, OH yes there is something they can do. . . . Recall this sky slider!!! I am going to continue to call them on a daily basis and keep asking for someone with more authority until I get my way on this and make them recall it so that we can all get our money back on this defective product!! I urge anyone else with this problem to do the same thing. . . . If enough of us keep calling and complaining, maybe we can get some satisfaction.
The skyslider roof on the Jeep Liberty does not stay closed while driving. It lifts loose from the track while closed and traveling at speeds over 50 mph. I am able to see the outside through the gap it creates and fear that it will lift open from the car. I have read of similar incidents where the roof did indeed fall off at high speeds. I fear that mine will too.
The sunroof stopped closing all the way. Bits of plastic started falling out. It was stuck open for over a year and I finally was able to look into it. The track is broken with no incident or cause. In researching online, I discovered that many people have had the same issue and that these sunroofs are prone to flying off while driving on the freeway. This should be a recall as it is an unsafe condition and an extremely costly repair for the consumer.

I was driving down the road with my 9 year old grandson in the Jeep. It is always sounds very windy in the truck when driving. I was going about 25 miles an hour and the front of the top flew back. It scared the heck out of us. I was able to pull over and when I tried to shut the sky rider/retractable top it would not go. So I pulled it frontwards with my hands and drove very slow to my daughters. My son in law and my daughter were looking at it and we could not get it to work. So we put a buggy cord around it to hold it down until I could have to a place that could fix it. . I went to see him at 8 am the next morning and he said he has 2 of them in his shop right now and he also said he has many of them in his shop every week with the same problem he also told me that. Chrysler knows this is a huge problem with these Jeeps that have the retractable tops/ sky rider . I also went on line and there are a lot of complaints in regards to these tops doing the same thing. I was told that it cost $2,100. 00 dollars to fix. They need to replace the whole rack. I don't understand why they would use plastic parts for such a important thing on your car is a roof. He told me to call Chrysler. . Well I called and spoke to a supervisor mack kelly at massey yardley he said the warranty is up. We went back and fourth about the top and I said to him, but you know this is a big problem so why would you not fix it? he said, "yup it is a big problem "but the warranty is up. I asked to speak with someone hire up and he said there is no one else hire then him. I also went on line and saw a bulletin recall and it states that they know this is a problem when they made this vehicle. I don't understand that they know it is a safety issue ?? we are very lucky no one got hurt or killed. They should fix the sky rider/retractable top being they know it is a safety problem!!!.
Panoramic roof - will not close. Appears that passenger side track is not operating correctly and the top will not fully close and flaps in the wind. My vehicle is no longer secure as well as the annoyance of the flapping in the wind. Also, no way to secure during inclement weather which is causing staining of the interior around the roof.
Gear/worm drive failued and window popped off track, had to repair out of pocket as dealership would not cover.
I purchased my 2007 Jeep Liberty on Friday. Two days later my daughter rolled the back window up and it came off track. I took my Jeep back to the car lot, they paid to have the window fixed at a port city glass. I was told it was the regulator and that this is a common issue seen with the Jeep Liberty. The second incident occurred last year while my husband was in the front passenger seat and rolled the window up. The window would not roll up and made noises. I took the Jeep back to port city glass for an estimation. I was told it would be approx. $230. I did not have the money for the repair and opted to block it off for now. I have had window issues with my Jeep since almost day 1. The is a very inconvenience on me and my family.
I have owned my 2010 Jeep Liberty 4x4 for just over 3 years and have had multiple windshield replacements/repairs. The windshield cracks very easily from the most simple stone hits to warm/cold water contact.
Windows keep falliing off of tracks down inside of door panel, this would be the 3rd time.
Windows keep falling off of tracks and fall down inside of door.
Windows falling down off of tracks 6 different times. The only window that has yet to fall is the front passenger side window. ( the 6th time just happened and I will be taking the car in on 10/25/16.
Window regulators keep on failing. I have had to replace the regulator in each window at least once, and 2 of them have been replaced more than once. I am about to replace my 7th regulator. 3 months ago the regulator failed on my driver¿s side - back seat door. It got itself hung in the door panel and couldn't open the door, so had to take it to the garage to get fixed. This is not the first complaint, nor the last so something should be done to resolve these issues. The regulator itself still worked, but the housing the chain stays in would break and cause the chain to come out the door panel, and knock the window off its track and damage the glass!.
