Been over 30 days since vehicle was inspected for a recall that requires installing a tow hitch. Manufacturer will not provide an eta for parts however I can go thru various other methods to obtain parts needed within a few days. Seems like manufacturer is stalling and not wanting to fix issue.

Horn stopped working. Tested actual horn another way and it operates properly but when driving it does not work someone mentioned it could be the clock spring. Is this covered under warranty or other reports of this malfunctioning for a recall?.

The transmission doesn’t work properly. It has trouble getting into second gear, at times it doesn’t change to third gear or higher. On one occasion it briefly got stuck in overdrive.

The connection "bolt" { situated under the vehicle} between the transmission shift lever and the rod responsible for actually shifting between park, neutral,, forward and reverse transmission gears completely` rusted away. ( see attached picture) causing a complete disconnect rendering the gear shift lever useless. The component is available for inspection upon request? it was shear luck that I was in slow city driving when I realized that the vehicle was damaged and not drivable. Until a final repair is made the vehicle is "dead in the water" so to speak. If this failure occurred during a trip, in an isolated place, I would have been abandoned and helpless as soon as I stopped. The fact that the "bolt" situated under the chassis was made of metal that rusted is incomprehensible to me, especially in a vehicle that is sold as suitable for "rough riding" over rocky terrain, through streams and generally roughing it. Common sense dictates that this critical part should have been constructed of sturdier stuff , not metal that rusts. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? I can't afford to have it repaired at this time. The vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

Transmission failure due to not being replaced when scheduled for maintenance.
Upper lower control arm on front end passenger side broke and vibration and driver side locked up and broke wheel hub.
I'm the original owner of a 2009 Jeep Liberty with a skyslider roof that I barely used. I was driving when the sky slider roof suddenly blew open and back, snapping the cables and launching pieces of parts like missiles. It was a terrifying experience for me and my young children. I have dealt with the very loud wind noise for the past 12 years after having it evaluated several times by dealerships and being told there was nothing that could be done about it. It can be even more overwhelming for children with autism and/or sensory issues. Fortunately, I was able to avoid an on-road accident, but still was hit with those projectile pieces and now have the added financial component of having to pay for repairs on a vehicle that the dealership has said most of the replacement parts have been discontinued on. The internet is full of complaints regarding these sky slider roof life-threatening issues. Something needs to be done to protect consumers from the physical and financial harm of these vehicles.

My 2011 Jeep Liberty sport on 06-27-21, was sitting in a super market parking lot while shopping. I returned from shopping and noticed my - rear back door glass was completely blown out, exploded. Was it a break-in situation ? or what caused this ? I called the police to make a report. The policeman said to contact insur. For replacement of blown out glass, and he filed his report. It is unknown my me,or policeman why this occurred. It, most definitely a safety issue on 2011 Jeep Liberty sport model.
Valve stem failure. Low tire pressure light came on, and tire immediately went flat while driving at 55-60 mph. After tire was changed, went to tire shop where they said valve stem was either blown out or sucked in, and 2 more were ready to fail, so replaced all 4. I didn’t quite understand all, but seemed to have something to do with the tire pressure sensor, or parts of it being worn.
Ball joint & control arm failure, twice within 3 years.
The rear window latch does not work. It will not open to latch the window closed with the back door. The window then opens when driving. I have a bungee cord holding my window closed. So anyone can enter my vehicle and it moves when I stop or go. I am ot able to use my back door due to having to redo it everytime. My driverside door also does not lock or unlock all the doors when I press the lock or unlock button. I have to open my door and shut off Jeep and try numerous times for ot to work.
On 17 February, with my foot on the brake, I placed my car into reverse to back into an available parking spot and the engine revved up on its own and shot the car backward at top speed hitting and toppling a san diego light post and stopping when it hit a tree. No one was injured thank goodness. I found on line that this had happened at least 31 times with a similar Jeep Liberty.

My airbag light came on a few weeks ago and hasn't stopped going on and off it makes that annoying sound the whole trip every time I drive, the heat won't cut on it blows cold air I've had it looked at and repaired allegedly but it still won't blow hot air, the car keeps stalling and it has completely shut off on me 3 times while I have been driving once on a busy freeway I was luckily by grace of god able to turn the wheel off to the side of the road before it locked I have a 2 year old daughter and I'm currently pregnant this is insane and nobody can tell me what's wrong with it or how to fix any of these problems I got a loan for this car so now I'm stuck with this death trap, and now I'm seeing all these complaints about the same thing I'm baffled by the neglect and lack of concern or care for customers and there families who ride in their vehicles safety, I would think it would be a no brainer to recall the whole car if you can't fix the safety concerns or don't have a solution, I need a car to drive I'm wasting so much money on rentals because I have no options with this Jeep I need a solution this is crazy I rely on my vehicle for work as I do uber eats and grub hub I need help!!.
I'm speeding up as I'm passing a truck on 395, signaling with left blinker. Start speed as beginning to pass is approx. 55 mph. I signal right as I pull back in the south bound lane, take my foot off the gas pedal as I notice I'm driving 80 mph. The gas pedal is stuck and the car is going 80 mph on its own. I step on the brake carefully but its rock hard and doesn't move at all. At this point the car is stuck at 80 mph. I try to brake again but the same - brake pedal is stuck, doesn't move at all and is rock hard. Road conditions are good so I'm in a "controlled panic", and try the brake one more time. This time the brakes engage and I get the car down to 65 mph. I don't want to burn the brakes so I release the brake and immediately the car speeds up on its own to 80 mph. I repeat. Slow to 65 mph, step off the brake and again the car immediately speeds up to 80 mph. At this point my thoughts go to cruise control (which I had not activated or used on this trip). I pull the "cancel" on the cruise control, nothing. I try again and look at the dashboard where the cruise control light is "off", indicating cruise control is not on. I turn the cruise control on and pull the "cancel" again and brake. This time the car comes out of it, and I turn the cruise control off again. Since the cruise control was not even on to begin with, I don't know if that's what actually made the car unfreeze. I was lucky I was on a straight stretch of road with no traffic in front of me. Since I was passing a truck I'm not 100% sure if I sped up to 80 mph or if the car suddenly did that on its own. I do believe the car did that, as there was no reason to get up to that speed to pass safely.
My car had been driving fine when I was on my way to work this morning I felt a pop under the car and then my car lost power and now it won't go into gear. . But it still turns on.
There is a grinding noice coming from either the transfer case or the dove shaft, either was it is loud and causes lights on the dash to come on and stay illuminated the lights are as follows: abs, traction control, esp bas, and service 4wd.
In December 2020, I stopped at the post office to drop a letter in the outdoor box. I rolled down my window, deposited the letter, and drove off. As I was raising my driver side window, I heard a loud noise and my window dropped into the car door. It was another broken window regulator. It was 30 degrees outside and I had other errands to run. I had to drive around the city with my window half-way down in the freezing weather. Jeep had a recall in 2010 stating "we are extending the warranty period for window lift plate repairs because some vehicles have experienced repeat concerns with window components. If you have already experienced this window regulator concern and have paid to have it repaired, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement. " when I was notified about the recall, I submitted receipts for the three incidents I had with broken window regulators that needed to be replaced. Chrysler reimbursed me my full out-of-pocket expenses of $708. 28 on January 24, 2011. Now I need them to pay me $461. 50 for the window regulator that was replaced on April 14, 2021. This is an ongoing problem, and most of all, a safety issue because of the distraction it causes to a driver. I recently read the following: distracted driving is a deadly problemit led to 3,142 deaths in 2019, according to the most recent statistics from the national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA). Chrysler should extend the window regulator recall on Jeeps and reimburse me $461. 50 because this is a real safety hazard. What if I had been driving on the interstate at 70 mph and my six pound baby was in his car seat in the back seat, and his window fell in due to a bad regulator? that would be a major distraction to me and a definite safety concern for my baby. This is definitely not a parts problem. This is a huge safety issue.
While trying to avoid a rear end collision at 30mph steering and break pedal got hard causing rollover where the airbags did not deploy not did the seatbelt restrain.
I was hit on my passenger front, while attempting to cross into a parking lot, so hard until my tire rod bent at a angle. My passenger airbag didn't deploy. None of my airbags deployed. There was no blind spot warning. Even after the impact, there was no alarm or notification of the damage, as the firemen were attempting to drive my car out of the road.
While turning from a green light I was probably going maybe 5-10 mph both my driver and passenger airbags both went off and man those things hurt badly but there was no car collision or anything they just went off out of the blue and there was a lot of smoke and left my ears ringing and parts of the dash came apart.

Car in back me swirved into resident yard to avoid accident I put car in park then back in drive car engage forward but front wheels appears locked as if park brakes were on I did the same with reverse Jeep engage backward but couldn't move I was stuck in the middle of the street I put Jeep in neutral but front wheels remained locked and stayed locked even when towed off.
I have a 2008 Jeep Liberty with a skyslider that recently broke. No one can repair or find parts to repair this. At high speeds the top can lift off of the vehicle and flap in the wind. It leaks water because it no longer seals. It poses a danger to myself and others when it catches wind becomes loose and lifts off of the Jeep. Its a distractions because it doesnt work correctly and period flappings cause me to look away from the road. I am currently use using pieces of metal to just keep in closed. The online community is asking for a recall and thinks this poses a danger to other drivers.
About a month ago I was coming up the mountain and it was hard to stere and it made me hit a gard rail on the other side of the road and then about a week ago I was going to town and I stopped at the store to get gas and turn it off and it would not start back so I don't no what is wrong.
I was driving home from work to get my daughter and went to turn onto another road, heard a pop and then didn't have control of the car. The rear control arm broke off.
I have been the sole owner of this vehicle purchased new in 2006 and have experienced door window issues occurring 8 times due to "lift plate, and regulator" problems. In investigating other complaint for this model year, window issues seem to be persistent problems. Date of occurrence are 8/4/07 back window; 11/5/07 front window; 10/29/08 passenger side rear window; 7/16/10 left right window; 8/19/14 right passenger window; 2/7/18 driver window, 7/13/20 front passenger window. I contacted Chrysler reporting the most recent issue and they stated the vehicle was too old for a active complaint or any reimbursement. I want awareness of this issue to be known and reported.
The vehicle starts good no problems during the fist start of the engine on the day, my work is a follows I make several stops during the day with an approximated 30 min in between, later during the day vehicle stalls, several lights on dash board flush and move, I have to make serval attempts to start the engine vehicle continue to stalls, at this pints the vehicle has staid several occasions at the dealer and different mechanic per the dealer they dint now why the vehicle is doing this , per mechanic starter, and alternator good. So far I had replace the battery, computer and pay for multiple inspections, this is frustrating, I also noticed online re search multiple Jeep owners have the same complaint, any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you .
Heat shield/blanket between exhaust and body . Almost started on fire. I smelt something burning like paper/plastic. I crawled under Jeep to see what it was. I saw smoke and red embers in that padding.
My sky slider while closed, started opening on it's own going down the road. After stopping to inspect, the sky slider will not seal/close all the way. After taking it to a Jeep dealership, they said the sky slider needs replaced but mopar does not produce the parts any longer. Now whenever I need to leave, I have to be sure the sky slider is all the way down before driving. Even then it lifts and opens on its own. I contacted Jeep and they do not have a recall or any affordable solution to this known defect.
I have a Jeep Liberty 2011 w/ a sky slider roof- where the entire roof is fabric and slides back. It stopped working & wouldn't shut on Tuesday and the only place that could put it into a garage and look at it before the rain- was the dealership. I heard back from them today- they no longer make the part that's broken. They were able to shut the roof, but I can never open it again b/c it won't shut and I'll have to pay them $243 again to close it. I'm reading online that this is a common problem and even when the roof is shut it- wind can get under it and blow completely off- potentially causing accidents if it were to rip completely off. I can't believe this hasn't been recalled. I know its common for places to stop making parts after 10 years, but there should be some resolution offered to shut your roof with reassurance it won't rip off and hurt someone. I'm pretty much scared to drive my Jeep over 50 mph now and Jeep basically just threw me back out in the world with no way to fix it because they have no way to fix it. This is no way for a company to perform . I was a loyal Jeep owner since 1997! here are some pics of other peoples roofs flying off.
The sky slider does not close properly which is causing water damage air leaks thru the whole thing and I live in cold mn so the winter its freezing also worried cuz it sounds like its going to blow off when driving above 20 mile a hour.
