Engine Cooling System problems of the 2009 Jeep Patriot

Two problems related to engine cooling system have been reported for the 2009 Jeep Patriot. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Engine Cooling System problem

Failure Date: 03/18/2011

The air conditioning condensor is positioned directly in the front of the vehicle. Nothing protects the unit (bumper, plasic cover, etc). A rock can easily strike the unit resulting in damage. This could be a fire hazard, as the unit contains freon.

2 Engine Cooling System problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2009

While I was driving I could hear water swishing when making a turn, then hot water came pouring out from under the dashboard. White plains Chrysler said there was a kink in the hose from the air conditioning and water had collected there thus heating up and expanded and came out burning my foot while on the accelerator pedal. I called a tow truck. Excessive play in the steering. Emergency brake does not hold when park on a hill.
