Nhtsa recall number 16v-288, in which my vehicle was missed from the recall!! now that my vehicle is indicating the problem Jeep refuses to fix the problem. Although this was supposed to be fixed during the appropriate recall time. I called Jeep on may 26, 2025 and the associate told me that is the problem comes from the recall, the dealer will fix it. The dealer says they are not going to fix it because it is a closed recall. I called Jeep again, and they are not clear about fixing it. They clearly failed to include my vehicle in the recall and now I have the problem.

I reached out to the dealer about another issue with my radio by phone they helped with that situation later that day I received a text telling me about vehicle recalls. I called and made an appointment. They repaired part of the issue but had to order parts for the rest. I took my vehicle back the only light in the dash that stays on is the tire pressure light. When my son and I went to pick it back up we noticed the light on when I asked about it I was told the tech would talk to me but was gone for the day. He jacob reached out the next day and told me it would need further inspection. I finally got in touch with a manager mark he said the part broke when they attempted repair and this was due to the age of the car. I told him it was no issues before they touched it and I would like it fixed he told me to bring it in and they would inspect free of charge next thing I know he called and told me I was responsible for repairs. I'm not happy and don't/didn't know what to do therefore I'm reaching out here.

13 Air Bag problem of the 2014 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 08/03/2024

I have sent in my Jeep Patriot in few years ago for recall that has to do with airbags issue. Jeep Patriot just reached 10 year old and now I am getting air bag light every time I turn my steering wheel while parked and while driving it keeps dining every min or less. I was told it may be clock spring in steering wheel and I believe I should not have to replace it being 165xxx miles and just hit 10 year mark. I have been replacing many other parts knowing its part of wear and tear but having to replace clock spring on not so old cars is very concerning for our safety when it comes to Jeep my Jeep is 2014 and has been well taken care of. I am upset finding there are recalls for wrangler for clock spring but none for Patriot. Please get back with me with possible fix for this. I know Jeep is one of best vehicles to have and I am starting to be worried if this going to be a common problems for Jeep.

19 Air Bag problem of the 2016 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 03/27/2024

Brought jepp Patriot 2016 to a car shop in suisun city, CA and they did a thorough diagnostics of my Patriot and couldn’t find out why my battery light was coming on. They checked the alternator and battery and they said they were fine. I was on a main street in suisun city and as I was turning to the left the car died on me and completely shut off. It was hard to turn wheels and hard to push the brakes and I had people push me out of the street into a sidewalk near a house. I then decided to try start it and it started and I was able to make it to my daughter’s house. My son-in-law and granddaughter used my car and hasn’t had the battery light come on yet but that has happened to me several times where it would come on and turn back off. There was only one incident where it died on me so far and I’m hoping it won’t do it again especially on a busier street. I can’t afford to bring it to dealership to see if they can find the reason why the battery lights comes off and on sporadically. I don’t know if any other Jeeps are having this issue but am asked to report it in case it does to happen to someone else.

25 Air Bag problem of the 2017 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 07/07/2023

This is an update to my claim report #11532893 filed on July 18th, 2023, regarding the spontaneous deployment of the ahr injuring and startling me, believing I was being attacked from behind. I have undergone an acdf c4-7 fusion, tbi diagnosis, and speech therapy treatments for cognitive speech impairment, depression, ptsd and anxiety Chrysler stated to me that, in essence, there is virtually zero chance of harm from a random deployment of a defective ahr. I have learned that the fca now admits there is oil contamination and that they began washing parts with alcohol in August of 2017 to rid the parts of potential contaminants. The dealership, upon inspection, stated they could order a new ahr, which could take months to receive and fix, but refused to replace the un deployed passenger ahr under warranty because it did not deploy. My wife nor I was instructed it would be unsafe to drive in front of the random activated ahr until it could be replaced leading us to believe it was safe fully extended and a logical question, why the needeployment?. When my wife drove me to doctor appointments pre- and post-acdf recovery, the passenger ahr was tied down with 110# rated paracord, and I sat with a pillow and the back down slightly, which I believe was not safe either; my neurosurgeon was shocked I had to sit in front of it. We opted not to replace the activated driver's side ahr, believing it's safer fully extended. I discovered fearful people making tutorials on how to remove the ahr's as well, not a safe alternative is tying with zip ties that could cause lacerations. That is why I opted for paracord. I noticed my wife driving, her head still about an inch from the extended ahr. I asked if it was comfortable, and she said yes; I thought of the crash test dummy head placements, far enough away the ahr doesn't even make contact when deploying so fast, I like the idea of catching, parachuting the head back. Is anyone asking common sense questions at NHTSA?.

29 Air Bag problem of the 2015 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 03/11/2023

March 11, 2023, we were traveling on route 193, in greenbelt, MD. When another driver attempted a left turn taking our right of way. We didn't have any advanced warning and impacted the other vehicle. We were traveling approximately 30-35mph in a 35mph zone. The impact caused us to go into the dash. The airbags did not deploy.

30 Air Bag problem of the 2011 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 02/01/2023

No dash lights, in my way to work someone cut into my(crossed solid line) lane and my vehicle hit the rear end of the vehicle that cut into my lane. Going around 55 and wearing my seatbelt, slammed on the breaks, couldn't go around without flipping my car so we collided. The front end of my car was completely destroyed and the airbags did not deploy. I am this cars second owner after my father bought it new & if he knew it would almost kill his daughter in 12 years he never would have bought it. It had no accident history and had been told the recall was fixed when it very obviously was not. We had a rep from Chrysler come and pull the crash data, and he tried to tell me there was no reason for the airbags to go off. The entire front of my car was crushed, there is no possible way they should not have triggered for the severity of the accident I was in. I smashed my head so hard on the steering wheel that I blacked out, broke my eye socket and suffered a severe concussion. I have photos/accident reports and Chrysler has the data from my car. I also think my dad has a copy of this data. I'm so so lucky I didn't die, this is absolutely a defective airbag component and something absolutely needs to be done. It's so incredibly dangerous and at this point with all of the similar incidents it would be neglectful not to open an investigation as people have died as a result of this defect.

31 Air Bag problem of the 2015 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 11/28/2022

The airbag light is on and I am afraid it will deploy at any time. The dealership and manufacturer say the part they need is on backorder with the supplier, but it has been 3 months since the problem was diagnosed, so it has not been repaired.

33 Air Bag problem of the 2016 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 11/01/2022

This vehicle had an air bag indicator light come on. After taking it to the dealer for diagnosis. It has a restraint system control module that has quit responding and as a result has no restraints that are operable. The part has been on order for over a month and the latest update from Chrysler says there is no eta available due to the global microchip shortage. I am driving the vehicle out of necessity, but consider it unsafe.

34 Air Bag problem of the 2014 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 10/10/2022

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated while stop the driver side sit head rest air bag deploy without any warning. The contact seek medical attention and suffered a concussion the vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was contacted, and they stated there was nothing they could do. The failure mileage was 128,000.

35 Air Bag problem of the 2014 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 09/15/2022

My driver and passenger headrest deployed for no reason. They deployed at separate times. It is a safety concern because I am not able to position my neck properly when driving. Due to the head rest being deployed my head is positioned forward making it difficult to see my surroudings. Had I not been parked when my driver side headrest deployed, I stronly believe that it could have caused an accident. I am not able to fix this issue on my own due to the actual pieces that would allow you to reset the head rest are broken.
