On 8/11/22 I was involved in a behicle accident where my air bag didn't deploy. Due to this I had injuries.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the driver’s side air bag warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the driver’s side air bag was faulty and needed to be replaced. No further information was available. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The airbag clock spring fails. The horn will go off unexpectedly while driving and parked when the car is turned off this is causing drivers to look in panic and emergency causing distracted driving I took this to the dealer 2 years ago before someone posted this online what the issue was. They could not find the issue there are no lights or warnings that appear I know another person with a 2012 Jeep wrangler and that air bag clock spring was recalled.

While sitting parked in a car port, the passenger seat headrest deployed, without the vehicle being bumped, jostled, shaken, or otherwise having any reason for the headrest to deploy.

The front passenger ahr unexpectedly deployed while the vehicle was parked. The vehicle was not involved in an accident. This incident happened on or about 05/12/2022. The driver ahr has not deployed, however, I am very concerned that an unexpected deployment might occur any time in the near or distant future.

First the hood light came on-then the emergency brake light-then the air bag light-now my headlights wont go off. It was diagnosed as a faulty tipm. I'm concerned the air bags might be deployed creating a major safety issue I've heard there are numerous complaints on tipm's and that there may be a recall. Is that true?.

I was hit on the front end of the car by another car going about 30 mph. It totaled the car but the airbags did not deploy.

The contact stated while driving approximately 70 mph, the passenger’s side headrest air bag exploded without warning striking the contact’s son on the back of the head. The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated that while driving at 25-30 mph and approaching a stop light, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to respond and sat on the floorboard. The contact stated that the vehicle inadvertently accelerated and crashed into the rear of another vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact was knocked unconscious. The contact stated that his girlfriend sustained knee injuries and his mother sustained a laceration on the face, but none of them sought medical assistance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot, then it was towed to an independent mechanic. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure and did not provide any assistance. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

The air bag spring has failed, apparently due to metal fatigue, in my 2015 Jeep Patriot. This renders the horn non-functioning and may also make the air bag not function.

Noticing a recall before, I'm concerned with my airbag light being on. Can it still be defected.

I had already taken my vehicle and supposedly to have the safety recall dealt with about 10 minutes ago I was driving down my road and the side curtain airbags deployed for zero reason.

The active head restraint on the passenger side spontaneously deployed while parked. There was no impact leading up to this event. The head restraint appears to have failed due to a faulty plastic clip that split in half. The head restraint is at the height of my passenger's head and, if they had been seated in the chair, the deployed headrest would have hit them at the base of the skull or delivered a blow to the left or right cheekbone and eye. I took the vehicle to my nearest Jeep dealership (rhythm Jeep in madison, TN) and they confirmed that the clip holding the release pin in place spontaneously failed. They documented the damage and ordered a new headrest which has not yet been fulfilled (a 9-month wait so far). There were no warning signals or any other indication that the head restraint would fail. Our concern is that the driver's side head restraint will also fail and cause the driver to crash the vehicle or suffer head and neck injury.

Sometimes when I turn my steering wheel the air bag light turns on. It does not always stay on and only comes on occasionally, usually when I make a turn. I got the diagnostics tan and the error code b1b02 driver airbag squib 1 circuit open. There was recently a couple of recalls (s61 occupant restraint controller and n01 reprogram occupant control restraint module) for my 2010 Jeep Patriot. I believe this issue with the error code I’m receiving is related to the recall issue, especially since the light does not stay on consistently.

Hello . My wife was involved in car accident . She was in her 2016 Jeep Patriot. Which the accident was pretty big. Which caused airbags to deploy. Airbag from steering wheel didn't deploy properly and also the airbag from the dashboard on passenger side. The airbags released a lot of white powder and smoke which made her have a hard time breathing. She is in the hospital now due to the lack of help from the airbag and also inhaling the substance from the airbag.

Driving down the street car stalling as esc warning and traction light came on. I could not drive and had my car towed to dealership.

My vehicle was parked in front of my house. When I went to enter the vehicle, I noticed my driver side head had exploded.

My airbag light on the dash board comes on and will not go away. I have had it twice reset and it does not go away. I was told that Jeep recalled their models but I cannot find a recall for the Patriot model. Why would all of their other models be recalled and not the Patriot? does not make sense. 2008 Jeep Patriot.

Passenger front active restraint headrest deployed unexpectedly when parked in driveway. This was due to a broken plastic pin retaining piece in headrest. Defective headrest deployed causing passenger to be struck in back of head while parked, no accident occured.

I pulled up in front of a store to load some things into my car. The car was in park and left running. It only took a few minutes to load the car. When I returned to the driver's seat, I noticed my headrest had popped open. I looked it up on my phone and discovered that the active head restraint (ahr) had been activated. Due to safety concerns, I drove straight home and didn't drive the vehicle again until I took it to the dealership on Monday night. The incident happened on Saturday. I am thankful this didn't happen while I was driving - it could have been a very dangerous situation.

My malfunctioning Jeep Patriot experienced sudden unexpected acceleration which resulted in a totaled car, 2 damaged buildings, and a fca letter stonewalling and washing their hands of. This accident came within a whisker of taking our lives. Accident happened as I descended our driveway to our house. Deep skid tire marks in gravel they chose to ignore. Their "investigation" was very very shallow. I have a detailed description of all that happened that day and police report which I can fax to you. I am a very angry and frustrated veteran I need you. Headrest safety system deployed by itself.

The company grava Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (29 mystic Ave, medford, MA 02155) , did not perform the requested recall. He returned the car to me with no solution and no documents. But I have an exchange of text messages with the employee of the company where I make it clear that I need the recall.

My 2012 Jeep Patriot 4wd 2. 4l is around 106,000 miles. About 2 months ago, I was pumping gas and I noticed it was only pumping about 75 cents at a time before stopping. I thought it was a faulty pump but soon began to realize it happened everywhere! my check engine light also comes every now and then, warning me that the catalytic converter is faulty. So I found the recalls for both of these problems which include 2012 Patriots, yet they say my car is not covered by the recall. Seriously? the only recall that is covered for my car is 16v-668 which is the occupant restraint. Why are the other problems that are popping up with everyone not covered?.

Car was parked in driveway overnight. Got into car the next day and my driver side head rest has been deployed and unable to reset due to the damaged hinge.

Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated that while stopped at a traffic light the driver's frontal active headrest restraint deployed independently. The vehicle was taken to miller's Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram, 48 kelly island rd, martinsburg, wv 25401, (304) 263-8821, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed two clips in the head rest fractured and the headrest needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted or notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 43,000. Ah.

Wife and daughter was in a 8car accident and none of the airbags went off hit from the back and pushed into other cars and none of airbags went off . Both of them went to the hospital and we spent all day in the emergency room.

I rolled the Jeep and not all the air bags properly deployed. Even the cop was surprised. The airbag did not come out of the steering wheel.

Having issues with Jeep stalls when driving. Has couple recalls took it in for repairs. Dealer said it was fixed and still have same issue.

I was at work in a 2017 Jeep Patriot company vehicle. I am a field worker and was traveling north on schaefer hwy to a clients home. I was t-boned at the cross section of schaefer and schoolcraft when another vehicle driving east on schoolcraft ran a red light- hitting me in the driver door, after hitting the driver door, turning his/her wheels and digging into the vehicle by my feet, breaking the left front wheel off the Jeep. The seat belt seemed to tighten to the point I could not breathe, I felt a flushing in my rib cage, rupturing right implant, tearing both shoulders and neck, low left back excruciating pain- l5 angular tear, cervical spine compromised every disc same with lumbar and thoracic spine si joint needed surgery, and right hip hit driving log so hard clip board was broke in half, broke right heel 2a fracture head to talus and complete full tear of ligament, right knee pain hands locking up. The intern in the vehicle stated she was not injured. No air bags went off. My left foot was stuck up the brake and my right was broke from hitting the counsel. The drive who ran the red light left the scene. I have lost my job. I am sitting in the vehicle while the intern took pictures.

When involved in a car accident, the airbags delayed deployment. This happened on a downtown street with speed of 25 mph. The car was in motion - someone failed to yield right away and accident couldn't be avoided.

Takata recall, vehicle owner took vehicle to local garage to have shifter cable replaced, tech opened hood to disconnect battery heard a click and then a load noise, looked in car and found all air bags in seats, seat belts and roof had deployed, ran VIN and found that the takata airbag recall was never completed.
