Jeep Patriot owners have reported 2 problems related to clutch broken (under the power train category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The hydraulic clutch system failed thus resulting in the inability to disengage the transmission without turning the key of witch results in a whole other realm of issues. Upon inspection there is no separate reservoir for the clutch it is connected to the brake master cylinder so potentially the clutch system could fail and leave you no way to disengage the transmission and also no way to stop. After doing some online research this is a common complaint for owners with a manual transmission in this design platform.

2009 Jeep Patriot: manual gear clutch failure at 14,000 miles and 14 months since new. Warranty expires on this item at 12,000 miles and 12 months. The Jeep was not driven aggressively or off road. A clutch should last much longer. I spoke to Chrysler / Jeep warranty department several times and they refused to assist, dealer installed new clutch for $1,060. 00. I believe the clutch is not strong enough or is substandard for this vehicle and should be replaced with a stronger one at no charge.
