Jeep Patriot owners have reported 3 problems related to recreational vehicle lpg tank valve/gauge (under the equipment category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Automatic Jeep, has difficulty shifting between gears when accelerating. This is especially noticeable when going a slower speed (I. E. Turning a corner, in rush hour traffic with stop-and-go speeds), but does do it at higher speeds (ex. 60 mph to 70 mph). It does not seem to have issues when down shifting. The vehicle has a very noticeable lurch/shutter when it is attempting to shift to a higher gear and will do it repeatedly in a short period of time. The vehicle needs to be driven a while before it will occur, I drive it about 20 miles before it starts exhibiting the issue. The issue is most frightening in city/rush hour traffic because it seems like the vehicle might stop running all together. The vehicle also seems to struggle to make it up hills, as if it does not have enough power to make the climb of even a small hill. The rpm gauge really jumps up high to about 5-6 when climbing a small hill or accelerating 5-10 mph to pass someone on the highway. The issue started before the vehicle had reached 60,000 miles. Filters and oil have been changed several times and fuel injector cleaner has been added to the gas several times, none of these measures have changed the performance issue of the vehicle.

Since day 1 of buying my Jeep brand new it stalls while I drive. Recently it has gotten 100x worse. Today I was heading home from out of town and I was driving on the highway when once again my rpm gauge would go down to 0 and my car would jerk. Although this time it did it over and over and over again until I finally pulled over and when I did my car completely locked up and stopped. . Like usual. So I turned my car off and back on and then it was fine again. Until 10 minutes later. It began jerking non stop on the highway so I pulled over and was gonna restart my car, but this time it wouldn't turn on. I sat there on the side of the highway panicking for 10 minutes until I could finally get it back on. And yet the next hour was full of non stop jerking and having to pull over. I have taken my car into the dealership around 4 times yet there's no light on so nothing can be found. I happen to look up recently and see there was apparently a recall on this veichle so I took it in again, but when they put my VIN there is nothing! this problem with it jerking and stalling has been happening since around December of 2013. I finally have decided to make a report because I am so tired of having to worry about my car dying on me while I'm driving! this veichle is so unsafe and needs to be fixed!!.

While on the freeway, speed 65-70 my car suddenly lost all acceleration and a winding noise accompanies the loss. Sometimes the temp gauge or electric throttle light will light up. This has happened a total of 4 times over the past 2 months. All 4 times I have been able to wait an hour, start the car drives normally. After each occasion I've taken the car to a Chrysler Jeep dealer. Either they say it's a misfire, or I need a tune up or an ignition coil. I've since had all these repairs and the issue continues. This is very unsafe. I've had my kids in the car every time, thankfully I avoided getting rear ended and now drive in the slow lane not over 65 mph just to be prepared for my Jeep to do this again. I'm scared to drive this car.
