Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the vehicle made a loud creaking noise when shifting gears. The contact also stated that when refueling, gasoline would leak from the filler nozzle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where it was stated that the pressure point needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while refueling the vehicle, fuel spewed back onto the contact. The failure recurred every time the contact refueled the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who performed an inspection and advised that the problem was caused by a defective check valve in the fuel system. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who offered to cover half of the repair costs. The failure mileage was 40,000. The current mileage was 98,000.

While fueling up my 2006 Jeep unlimited tj, the gas spills out all over the side of the Jeep once it's full instead of turning off the pump. This has been an issue since day one, which means there should be a recall as many other 05 & 06 Jeeps have the same exact issue.

Since September 2009,every time I fill up my 2006 Jeep Wrangler,at least 10 to 12oz spill out before the auto shutoff on the nozzle is engaged. I believe that this could be very dangerous.

Since new every gas fill burbs gas back out of the filler hose on to rear fender and ground.
