I bought my 2007 Jeep Wrangler in November 2020. It had approximately 122,000 miles on it and has the 6 speed manual transmission. After driving it for 7 days, I was backing out of a parking spot and heard a loud squeal and was unable to shift gears. It had to have the clutch replaced along with the flywheel and several other clutch associated parts. The total was $1,600. The salesman at the dealership where I bought it told me as I was buying it that there is no warranty but if something happens in the first couple of weeks that he would work with us. Of course he did not help me. He wouldn't even return my phone calls. Whatever, buyer beware! second issue is of course the fuel spit back problem. Every time I fill up, I end up with gas on the Jeep and on the ground. I love wasting money like that. There is apparently a recall on this issue but your website says my vehicle has no recalls. Third issue is all the door hinges are rusting really bad. I saw that there were several service bulletins on the proper procedures for replacing those hinges. Those should be replaced by the dealer at no cost.
Rear frame cross member rotted out . Hole in top of frame but no holes in bottom to let water and road salt out .

The 'heat barrier/ sound barrier' causing on the Jeeps floorboards captures water which then completely rusts out the floor board. I thought it was just a freak deal with mine, but upon research and talking to others who own wrangle, I found this was pretty common. I also can feel the drivers floor getting very hot as there is now almost nothing between my feet and the aluminum heat shielding for the exhaust that runs just under the drivers side.
While driving, trac bar bracket broke off front axle & vehicle could not be steered or controlled. Approx 2 weeks later, rear trac bracket broke off rear axle & vehicle was swaying, but could be controlled. The prior incidents mentioned above happened in 07/12 & 08/12. Jeep dealer made repairs by re-welding brackets. On 11/10/2016 my wife was coming home from work & heard a loud bang and lost control of vehicle & it was bouncing violently & could not steer vehicle & almost crashed vehicle. Trac bar bracket on front axle had broken off again after being repaired by Jeep dealer.

That's is not acceptable, I didn't have time to get my bag and wallet, my car was on flames. Chrysler need to do something about it. We need some answers. My car was in motion, in a highway.
I was driving down the road the Jeep started spitting and sputtering I pulled over to see what was going on as I go to get out it bursted into flames from under the hood then quickly spread throughout the whole Jeep quickly.
Fuel overspills and spits every time the tank is filled. This has been happening for years on and off. I have replaced evap. System parts with no resolution.
Was driving and engine stopped. Coasted to side of road and when stopped smoke was billowing up around me. Got out and tried to put out undercarriage with water and then two fire extinguishers with the help of other motorists that stopped to help. We couldn't extinguish so I called 911 and watched as it was engulfed in flames and burned.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the door hinges were rusting. Three of the four doors could not be opened or closed freely and would require excessive force to open or close the doors. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, who then advised the contact that there was nothing they could do to assist. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. There were no associated recalls or investigations of the particular failure. The failure mileage was 17,500 and the current mileage was 75,000.
While driving the car the oil light came on but went off. I was on a narrow road and was about to pull off then lights started to flash and the clutch would not work I stopped and turned the car off but it would not stop. Then I tried to get out and the doors all locked on me. I got out and noticed what I first thought was a boiling radiator but when I went to lift the bonnet the car caught fire. It was gone in a matter of minutes. Jeep australia denied any cars had caught fire here and would not allow us to have forensics investigate. At 35,000 the clutch also had to be replaced which Jeep also said was because I did not know how to drive a manual I had been driving for 17 years. I know there have been other cars here in australia with the same problems I have had.
All hinges including doors and hood are failing due to galvanic corrision.
Water leak: I purchased a 2007 Jeep Wrangler x unlimited on 06-26-10. On 06-28-10 I was (out of town of vacation) driving in a rain storm when I noticed to carpeting in the back passenger floor board was wet. I have been able to determine that the water is leaking from the top of the vehicle running down the frame between the front and back doors onto the floor board. Upon returning home from vacation I contacted number 1 auto from where I had purchased the vehicle. I advised the salesman of the wet carpet and a non-functioning cd player. At that time he said they would fix it I just needed to make an appointment with the mechanic. I have had the Jeep back 3 times now for continue water in the rear floor boards of the Jeep after being in rain. Last nigh (08-03-10)t, after yet another rain storm, I removed 2 quarts of water from the rear driverside and passenger side floor boards. Today (08-04-10) I contacted the Chrysler corporation who said, "it's out of warranty, it's up to you as to how you want to perceive it. " I advised the customer service representative that I have researched this problem and have found that there has been a multitude of the same complaints regarding the 2007 model Jeep Wrangler both hard and soft tops and there are numerous occasions posted where Chrysler had offered to buy the Jeep back or replace with a different Chrysler vehicle as long as it was not another Jeep Wrangler. The customer service representative replied, "I've never heard of such a problem. ".
My Jeep Wrangler 2007 shakes so violently that I can no longer drive it. I am afraid that I may kill someone or my self or my kid. It is the scariest thing ever. At three (3) different occasions I almost crash. I heard so many Jeep owners have the same problem, so why Chrysler are not doing something about this serious promble? they tried to tell me its front end or a tire issue. I have changed my steering damper, my stablelizer bar and bushings. Had it alligned and bought new tires and balance. Problem still exist. The vehicle has been towed back to the dealer as of this morning. And they are trying to stick me with a bill for any repairs done to rectify this wobbling issue. I do not think that I, the consumer should have to pay anything for this manufacture defect. $40, 000. 00 is not cheap, they made a killing from me and now that I have six months left, nobody wants to assist or do the right thing. I love my Wrangler. Always dream about owning one since high school. I hoping you can do something about this issue. I have no extra money lying around. Please help 1 luv rasta.
2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. 85,000. All 4 door hinges top and lower have been bubbling and rusting from day 1. Dealer stated twice during warranty period issue that rusting is cosmetic, and not covered under warranty. Working with Chrysler (800. 763. 8422) with a pending case. The issue seems to be a overwhelming problem.
Water was first noticed in my vehicle when I first came out of work to go home. My vehicle was parked in a fire station parking lot overnight as I work 24 hours as a firefighter. I noticed a strong mildew odor and checked the floors and both rear passenger and driver side carpeting was soaking wet. I the pulled up the carpets and let the water drain onto the floor once this was complete I then pulled both drain plugs and let the water drain out. The total accumulation was approximately 1 1/2 inches of water. This was after a moderate rain no heavy gusts or anything of the sorts. I then called the dealership who then replaced all the door seals. They claimed they could not repeat the problem. Again on another morning after another rain I came out from work and yet again more water in the same location. I also went home that morning and water began to leak on me from the outside and also began leaking onto the dashboard as well as from both a and b posts this water then leaked onto my wife who was sitting in passengers front seat, the water also began to leak onto my son's arm who was sitting behind me in his car seat . On the 2 most recent occasions the same thing occurred now I have water on the floor boards as well as under the front driver side carpeting that is completely saturated with rain water. Both seatbelts are wet as well. I am now bringing in the vehicle for a third time for the same problem however, I did not pull the drain plugs as to allow the dealership to witness the alarming amount of water that leaks inside. Anytime it rains this vehicle is getting saturated inside. Now the interior smells like a wet dirty dog due to the water accumulating on the carpeting. The weather stripping on the doors has been replaced twice and each time with no success. This vehicle thankfully is garage kept with the exception of work. The vehicle has never been off-road and the roof is on securely and fastened correctly.
