1 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2016

Two weeks ago I when to the dealer to detail clean my Jeep, I park at the entrance of the shop, when they where going to take my Jeep in for cleaning, it will not start, they had to push the Jeep into the shop, after checking it for a wild, they told me that it burn a fuse, they replace it and everything was find. Last week when I came out of my job, the Jeep will not start again, I just replace the fuse and it was all fine. This morning am at wawa getting coffee and when I came out , the Jeep will not start, had to get a toll truck to take it to my mechanic. He check it and told me there something cutting off the power and blowing the fuse every time he try to start it. He told to check with the dealer to see if there was a recall or problem with this, I call and by my VIN number they said there was no recall, a recall on the switch and for cutting off the power was issued for newer models but not for 2007. I will like to know if there been other similar complain about this, now I remember that sometimes my Jeep will be loosing like power or stalling when I was driving, I keep my Jeep clean and in very good conditions , up to date in maintenance, but this worrying me. I have a friend with a 2008 Jeep, and he told me he had the same problem with his.

2 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2015

My Jeep Wrangler unlimited x has stalled 3 times while I was driving. The dashboard lights up like a christmas tree and the vehicle's power goes out for what seems like no more than 2 seconds. There have been quite a few other problems with this Jeep, but most have been covered under warranty and the lifetime drive-train warranty. Question #2 I can not give any dates, so I put today's date. I know for a fact that the vehicle has experienced the aforementioned problem 3x's as it is an unforgettable experience.

3 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2014

Driving at 35mph dash illuminates random lights, speed odometer fluctuates back and forth 0 to current speed, dash board dings and car slows and spontaneously stalls. Restarts immediately. This first incident occurred ages months back without stalling now is happening frequently . Will not be driving this car again until problem is identified and fixed, too risky.

4 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 12/06/2012

First occurrence Dec 6th 2012, backing out of an inclined driveway. Vehicle seemed as if it had no power, stalled, spitting and sputtering like it was starving for gas. Finally got it out of the driveway and was about 15 miles from closest Jeep dealership in ocala FL, and nursed it there, spitting and sputtering and stalling the whole trip. Left it overnight and got a call the next day where they had found the problem and a couple of other things wrong (unrelated to the problem) I approved the fixes and after $677. 00 later drove off the lot. The only thing I can see on the invoice that would have caused the original problem is a line that reads "cleaner-fuelsystem" and has a $59. 00 part and a $106. 00 labor charge. On January 13th 2013 it starts acting up again. I take it back to same dealership the next day and complain that I'm not going to come in every month and pay a $90. 00 diagnostics fee for something they said was fixed. So they plug it in and the code tells them I was running "lean" however they have no idea this time whats wrong. And of course it's not doing it so they "can't fix what's not broke". Between Jan and July it has done this many times, in the beginning it was once or twice a month but now will do it almost every trip. When it stalls completely I loose ps & pb, very dangerous. It now stalls at speeds of around 50 mph and I just have to pull onto shoulder to restart. Sometimes it restarts right away and other times I have to sit a short bit. It seems to be related to longer trips, 1-2 hours. But sometimes will happen after being on the road for 15 minutes. The stalling at 50 mph and loosing ps & pb is the most concerning in traffic.

Purchased brand new 2007 4door Jeep Wrangler. It has stalled while driving on 5 separate occasions. We have taken it back to the dealer, and each time been told it was fixed. This car is a death trap and we refuse to drive it. Dealer wont take it back so now we need to go to court. The severity of this is not showing. . . . The ignition switch must be turned off in order to restart the engine. He stated that the vehicle stalled five times within the last ten days. The dealer has reprogrammed the computer at least twice. Also, when making a right turn, the anti-skid control activates and the brakes are applied. The anti-skid control light illuminates and then dims after the turn is made. The dealers verified with a road test that the anti-skid does activate at approximately 25-35 mph, but no repairs have been made. The contact was unsure of the component names regarding the reprogramming and anti-skid failures. The current mileage was 4,200 and failure mileage was 3,300.

14 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2007

I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler 4 dr x unlimited 4wd. I saw the recall notice for the vehicles stalling manufactured before Jan 2007. My vehicle was manufactured I believe in may of 2007 and the stall has happened twice. Radio goes off, engine died and all lights on the dash came on and appeared to reset. It's a manual transmission and the engine restarted because I was moving and still in gear. It only lasts about 2 seconds but during the time it is doing this the power steering is not functional. (I only know this because I was on a curved freeway on ramp during one of the times it did this. ) I am only filing this complaint because it appears the recall (g25 I believe) does not seem to cover the full range of dates for affected vehicles as mine was manufactured in may of 2007.

15 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2007

At 65 mph all dash lights came on as if Jeep had lost power and came back on. I looked online for any incidences like this and found a news story that said Chrysler was being investigated and was to recall 80,000 Jeeps. I called Chrysler and they denied we have a problem and they were unwilling to even look at my Jeep because they claim the VIN number didn't match the recall. Meanwhile I am driving a Jeep unsure if it will stall out at highway speeds.

16 Car Stall problem

17 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/30/2007

My 2007 Jeep Wrangler sahara unlimited has now stalled twice at highway speed. The stall is momentary, approximately two seconds, and the vehicle quickly resumes normal operation. There is an initial "lurch", then all of the indicator lights on the dashboard light up, then operation resumes. It seems very dangerous and it is very alarming when it happens. On one of my two occurrences I was traveling at 70mph on a freeway, which could have resulted in a very dangerous situation. After my first occurrence I described the problem to my dealer and the response was that it was normal operation of the cruise control (obviously they did not interpret my description properly).

18 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/29/2007

2007 Jeep Wrangler 2 door:model x:manual transmission: purchased on 3/29/at 2,833 miles, my vehicle stalled on interstate 10 at 60 mph. The vehicle stalled disabling all power to the controls for 3 seconds during morning rush hour traffic. The vehicle then restarted on its own and I continued on my way, thinking it was simply a minor malfunction. It recurred at 5,180 miles while I was in neutral gear, the vehicle stalled and 2 seconds later it restarted on its own. After this experience, I went to research this problem online. I found that this problem is now called "the stall bug" and it is happening to hundreds of 2007 Jeep jk Wrangler owners on both manual and automatic transmissions. I found that many of the owners who have reported this problem have taken their vehicles to their Jeep dealership and the service department ends up sending them back without the problem being fixed. This is unacceptable and someone is going to get hurt. As soon as I found out that there was this grossly overlooked problem, I took my vehicle immediately to the dealership to be fixed (6/30/07). My vehicle is currently at the dealership being looked at by the service department, but from the research that I have done there is no solution to the problem yet and the dealership will most likely send me home with a ticking time bomb of a vehicle as it is expected that the stall will happen again at around 9,000 miles. . 20 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2007

While driving approximately 40 mph, my 2007 Jeep Wrangler sahara stalled while in motion. It then lost all power steering, etc. Momentarily and then started itself back up without any human intervention. This has also happened previously while making a low-speed turn in which it stalled completely and I was stopped in a busy traffic area on a blind curve with traffic coming both directions. Cars were coming both directions and there was almost an accident because they were avoiding me. I also had my 2 young children in the vehicle with me. I took the Jeep to galeana Chrysler Jeep in columbia, SC twice. Both times, the technicians told me there were "no failure codes" so there was no work that they could do.

21 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/16/2007

My 07 Jeep Wrangler has stalled a total of 4 times while driving. 3 of the stalls were at highway speeds, 1 was at approximately 35 mph. There is no warning or sign that the vehicle will stall. Just, all of a sudden, I notice the loss of power, and looking at my instrument panel, I see that all the warning indicators are lit. The stall lasts just a couple of seconds, then the vehicle returns to normal operation without anything be done by me.

22 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2007

2007 Jeep Wrangler 2 door. Stalls. Loses all engine and electrical power. Has happened on five occasions. On the last occasion I was in a major intersection and was almost broadsided when the light changed and I was caught in the oncoming flow of traffic. 23 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/09/2007

Jeep stalled in traffic, engine cut off. . . Dashboard lights lit up. . . Had to restart.

24 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2007

1) the electronic stability program light has come on and stayed on 3 times over the last couple of weeks on my 2007 Jeep Wrangler. 2) yesterday, while traveling at freeway speeds, the vehicle stalled momentarily, but restarted. In surprise, I swerved a little bit, but not enough to lose control of the vehicle. As I understand it, other '07 Wranglers have experienced this as well and it has gotten progressively worse. This seems to be a significant safety issue that could result in a crash. 3) I contacted my dealer today to take a look at my vehicle tomorrow. I described the issue, but they seemed unfamiliar with it.

25 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2007

2007 Jeep jk 4-door has stalled a couple of times. I've started my Jeep about 10 times and the starter continues to run. I need to turn off the Jeep for this to stop.

26 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2007

The problem has occurred three times now. The first time was about 2 months after purchasing the Jeep on interstate 95 on cruise control at about 70mph. The Jeep stalled, radio cut off, everything went blank, and rapidly deaccelerated. Then the whole dash lit back up, it restarted on its own and the rpms went way up them resumed as normal with a jerk back into gear. I nearl was rear ended by a truck tailing right behind me who honked, slammed brakes and jerked around me. I took it to the dearlership for an oil change and reported the problem. They told me there were no other reports on TSB and the computer found no problem, nor could they duplicate it so it must have been "working it's kinks out". I took it home. About two months later it once again did the same thing in stop and go traffic at about 25 mph on interstate 495. This time I had to put it in park, people honking and cursing and restart it. I didn't take it in because I feared the same response. The third time about about 2 months later when my husband was driving me and guest from england on interstate 95 again, not on cruise control at about 65 mph. It repeated the action from the first incident. It's been there four days now for the second try at correction with no update and failed returned calls from the service manager on an update.

27 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2007

I am the owner or a 2007 Jeep Wrangler x 4x4 6spd. The vehicle has approx 2,600 miles on it. On may 30th I was driving in a residential area when I was approaching a stop sign. I was on my way to get gas and my gas light was on (I do not know if this is relevant or not but I will report it). While approaching the stop sign, with the clutch pedal pushed to the floor at about 3 mph the vehicle just stalled. No real warning just a flash of the radio lights and dash lights and the vehicle died. I thought it had run out of gas but it started right back up. Then I thought possibly the gas was very low but there were still 2 gallons left in the tank as I found out when I filled up the tank 2 minutes later. After this happened I researched this "stall" a little more online. I came across jk-forum. Com and this was not just an isolated incident. This is a very wide spread problem in which the dealers poke and hope with their repairs and they do not work. This is a very big safety issue. I think about it everytime I set in my vehicle now waiting for it to stall in an even worse situation such as a highway off or on ramp or something. Chrysler must be held responsible for finding a fix ASAP in my opinion.

The contact was unable to restart the vehicle and it was towed to the dealer. The dealer has not determined the cause of the failure. The current mileage was 20 and the failure mileage was 16. The consumer stated after paying $8,000 in engine parts as of 6/15/07 the Jeep still will not run. The consumer stated that daimler-Chrysler contacted her to offer a buyback or replacement. 30 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2007

Vehicle stalls out, all "idiot" lights go on, headlights and other lighting go off, then vehicle restarts, has happened a few times, and has happened after dealership "fixed" with a manufacturer issued TSB, on this last date I was driving at night on the highway @ 70mph ! lost all lights and power. 31 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2007

Backing out of parking spaces and turning a corner at very low speeds, caused the esp and bas dash lights to come on and stay on. All the dash lights have come on at speeds of 5 mph while driving in a parking lot, vehicle acted like it was going to stall, but did not turn off. Took the Jeep in for service, dtc's were scanned dtc stored codes were found, c2205 steering angle sensor internal, c121a, steering angle sensor not initialized. All stored dtc codes were cleared and all modules were checked and new software, abs52059883ae was installed. 32 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 05/26/2007

My 2007 Jeep Wrangler 4 door has stalled 5 times since I bought it new on November 5 2006. It has happened at night with the headlights on, during the day with the headlights off, on the interstate, and in my subdivision traveling under 20 mph. When the vehicle stalls the dash lights up like a christmas tree, the transmission goes into neutral and the engine revs and the steering and power brakes are gone. This episode lasts for 3-5 seconds then the vehicle resumes normal operation. I have taken it to the dealer the 4th time this happened and of course no code was stored to diagnose so they checked the connectors and said that was all they could do. The 5th time the vehicle did this I had it towed to the dealership. I spoke the service associate on the telephone and they said they dad not heard of any other incidents of this nature. I called Chrysler and they also had no knowledge. I find that unbelievable because with a simple search on the internet brings up tons of exact complaints. I hope this problem can be fixed. I will not let my family ride in this vehicle until it has.

35 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle would randomly stall and lose power steering and braking ability. The failure has occurred three times within the past year. The vehicle was able to be restarted immediately afterwards; therefore, the contact never took the vehicle to the dealer. After the most recent failure, she was unable to immediately restart the engine until 30 minutes later. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they reprogrammed the power module. The failure recurred less than a week later while driving 65 mph. Once more, the vehicle took 30 minutes to restart. The vehicle is currently at the dealer being repaired. The contact believes that the manufacturer needs to develop a new repair for this failure. The failure mileage was 12,860.
