53 problems related to car stall have been reported for the 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Stall: my new 2007 Wrangler has twice stalled and lost all power for 1-2 seconds at highway speeds. When this happens the dashboard lights all turn on as if the car was just started, the brakes and steering stop responding and the engine seems to either turn off completely or go silent. This lasts for a couple of seconds and then the vehicle powers up again and acts as if nothing has happened. This has happened twice so far on straight lanes and am worried this will cause an accident if it happens on a curve or when I need to use my brakes. I have taken it to Jeep and was given the response "cannot duplicate, no action taken" but this is not acceptable to me and don't want them to finally take this problem seriously when my wife, 5 month old infant and myself are on the news because we died on the road.
My 2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited 4x4 sahara stalls often while driving .
I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler 4dr 4wd that has stalled twice while traveling at highway speeds. The vehicle has less than 6,000 miles and I've reported the problem to the dealer and they say they can't find anything wrong with it. The first occurrence occurred during the day while traveling at approximately 65mph for over an hour. The vehicle cut out, all the dash lights came on, I lost power steering, and within 3 seconds the vehicle "re-started" itself on its own. The second occurrence occurred several months later while traveling at 70mph for over an hour. The incident occurred at night and the same thing happened. All the sudden the engine cut out, I lost headlights, and within 3 seconds the vehicle came back on and everything was fine. Again, I reported to the dealer, at they couldn't find anything.
Vehicle stalled while driving at highway speed for about 1-2 seconds.
During normal driving, my vehicle will stall. Has happened twice since I have owned it (5 months). Total loss of all power steering, brakes, and electrical in the vehicle. Dealer told me on both occasions that since the vehicle did not report a code in the computer, there was nothing they could do.
2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited sahara. Stalled at 2,700 miles while traveling 45 mph on a 4 lane divided highway. Vehicle completely shut off including power steering and brakes while engine continued to run. Was forced to move vehicle while still rolling into grass median. Vehicle "rebooted" 30 seconds later without me doing anything (I. E. Turning off or on) and was able to drive away. Luckily there was not heavy traffic as I had no means to stop quickly and the grass slowed me down in the median. Took to dealer and supposedly "flashed the pcm module" as my warranty receipt says. The Jeep has now again stalled at 3,800 miles yesterday while going 35 miles an hour down my street.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler with 8500 miles. The contact was driving 65 mph under normal dry conditions when the vehicle stalled. The contact tried to restart the vehicle while coasting, it would not restart so the contact was safely able to get the vehicle to the side of the road. When the vehicle stalled all of the electrical equipment shut off then came back on before the vehicle restarted. Once the vehicle was on the side of the road it restarted and she has not had any problems since. The contact called the dealer and made them aware of the failure and the dealer offered to replace the Jeep with a new one.
I have had stall issues all around town, at least 4 times. The worse stall issue was driving on the highway all my dash lights lit up and the vehicle stalled. I had to "limp" my way to the shoulder. Chrysler did a buy back on my vehicle.
Engine cut out (stalled) on 2007 Jeep Wrangler while traveling at highway speed. Engine restarted after pulling to the side of the road.
I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler 2dr, automatic transmission. No power amenities group. Build date of 9/12/2006. It has a random stalling problem and has since I purchased it. It has stalled at least 6 times on me that I can recall. There does not appear to be any pattern that I can relate, speed is irrelevant, it has happened at dead stops, and at 65mph thruway speeds. It occurs without warning; all of a sudden all the idiot lights come on, immediately everything shuts down. Radio, lights, dash gauges, engine, everything. No power steering, no power brakes, everything is gone. This happens for maybe a second or two. Sometimes it comes back on by itself, sometimes it doesn't. I have had it back to the dealer, they attempted the computer reflash. It had no effect. I have no complaint with cecconi's Chrysler, they have attempted to fix the problem. I believe this is daimler's blunder.
Once while driving and once while sitting at a stop light my 07 Jeep jk Wrangler just stalled. It had to be put back into park and restarted. This seems very dangerous!.
I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. I have had 3 issues with it stalling or with systems failure. The first time happened on the date listed below. I was traveling through a busy intersection at about 50 mph when my Jeep lost power for about 5 seconds. Luckily, I made it through without any issues and the power resumed. 3 days later, I took my Jeep into my local dealer (where it was purchased) and they said there was no diagnostic that could be performed on it at that time because the software wasn't available yet. Since that date, I have had 2 other similar issues. About 4 months after the first incident, my Jeep stalled out at a stoplight. I had to restart the engine. About 3 weeks ago, the same thing happened in my driveway. I started my Jeep in the early morning to warm it up before work, and when I came back out in about 5 minutes, and as no longer running. I didn't think too much about this until I read an article recently about others having issues with their 2007 Jeep Wranglers. I wanted to make sure my stories were known, too! thanks!.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler x rhd 4x4. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The dealer was unable to diagnose the cause of failure. The VIN and purchase date were unavailable. The current mileage is 15,000 and failure mileage was 2,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. While driving the vehicle would stall without any prior warnings. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. The technician could not locate any diagnostic error codes therefore no repairs were made. The failure mileage was 20. The current mileage was 44000. Updated 11/04/09. The consumer stated the dealer performed the repair per the recall, however the remedy only lasted 18 months and then the stalling resumed and continued to be a constant problem. Updated 11/05/09.
I had no previous problems with the vehicle stalling. The vehicle was running with no noticable difference the day of the incident. I was pulling off from a traffic light and I felt the power from the engine cut out. I looked at my instruments and the tach dropped to zero and all the instrument lights went out. No more than one to two full seconds later all of the instrument lights came on and went through the normal sequence like the vehicle was just started. The engine came back to life and the vehicle ran as though there was no problem. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they said it did not store a code in the computer and they could not replicate the prblem. I have had no other failures. I don't remember the exact date of the failure, but I am sure I have a copy of the service record in my glove box from when I took it to the dealer. I will be happy to cooperate with any investigation and provide the documentation if needed.
Our Jeep has stalled while driving on the freeway and while sitting at idle. It is accompanied by the dashboard lighting up like a christmas tree and then the entire electrical system going out. This includes the headlights extinguishing at high speeds on the freeway--very scary.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled several times without warning and lost complete power. The vehicle eventually restarted. The dealer attempted to repair the vehicle five times, but informed the contact that there were no failures. The purchase date was unknown. The current mileage was 12,000 and failure mileage was 1,000.
Engine cuts out and all dash lights go on. As soon as I realize what is going on things are back to normal. Has happened on at least 4 separate occasions. The first time was traveling about 45 mph. The second time was doing 70 on i94 next to a semi tractor. The third time was on an exit ramp on i55 in joliet IL. The last time was on June 1, 2007 while approaching a stop light. It has been brought to the attention of the dealer and they have dismissed it. Told me they have never heard of such a thing. On the last visit they said "the customer states the engine hesitates so bad he thinks it has stalled then will snap back and will accelerate normally". I was very frustrated when I red this because it is not hesitation it is a stall. The vehicle completely dies. This is dangerous and if it happens at the wrong time or if someone panics the consequences could be deadly.
