Three problems related to manifold/header/muffler/tail pipe have been reported for the 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My O2 sensors (all 4) and my ecu continued to come up faulty. I took my Jeep to a repair shop. The repair man told my that my left and right manifolds were cracked and they would have to be replaced. Also had a bolt that had broken off one of the manifolds.
Knocking noise coming from underneath the vehicle when driven. It would come and go, mechanic checked for the obvious loss parts (muffler, shocks, etc. . . ). The next day when the noise reappeared, the mechanic has driven less than a quarter mile when the engine seized. Mechanic dropped the oil pan and found metal shavings in the oil and the bearing had spun. Chrysler is refusing to take any responsibility to fix this common problem in the 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The mechanics we have spoken with have related that the new 07 3. 0 liter engine was found to have issues that lead to this spun bearing. Repairs and parts are well over $8000.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact noticed that there was a crack in the engine manifold. The contact called the dealer and was informed that the failure was not uncommon and was due to the vehicle operating at a high temperature. The failure mileage was 29350 and the current mileage was 29350.
