Suspension failure: I've had issues with my steering column since having bought this vehicle. About a week ago my gear box fell out of the vehicle causing loss of steering control. I have been having issues with the steering column shaking violently since having it repaired. This shaking was also a problem for me about three months ago.
My Jeep is experiencing the "death wobble". It almost turned over on I-85 outside of atlanta. My daughter was driving at 55mph and there was a small dip in the road. The Jeep began to shake uncontrollably. She could hardly control the steering wheel or the Jeep. We were finally able to slow down enough (almost rear ended twice) and pull over. This is not isolated. We had the Jeep in for repairs before and everything listed for repair of the death wobble replaced. It is doing it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you need to recall these Jeeps and make Chrysler fix them before someone like my 23 year old dies!!!!!!!!!!!!1.
My Jeep has the "death wobble"- I've spent over $1000 trying to fix it. When going over 50 on a highway, a slow shake quickly turns into a violent shaking of the Jeep back and forth until I'm almost stopped (5pmph-ish) on the middle of a busy highway. I was almost rear-ended the other day, and am petrified to bring it on the highway now.

They told me they was ordering parts to fix it but now wants 2000. 00 to repair it refusing to fix it it was unsafe to drive and it was inspected at state of wv inspection station 300 miles before I purchased it what do I do on the safety and inspection part of having my vehicle safe to drive.
While driving on the highway going approximately 55 mph and uncontrollable oscillation occurred in the front suspension and wheels. The oscillation occurrs when going around a turn and when driving straight. The shaking is so bad the vehicle is nearly impossible to steer. Each time I had to apply the breaks try and avoid traffic and pull over on the side of the road.

While driving at highway speed, if you hit a rough spot on the road, it starts to shimmy and the steering wheel starts to violently jerk back and forth. The front tires are wobbling. You have to be extremely gripping the steering wheel and push on the brake as hard as you can without loosing control of the vehicle to get it stoped.
Jeep death wobble in my 2007 Jeep Wrangler. No rhyme or reason, car will begin to violently shake between 45 - 65 mph. I have to completely stop and pull car to side of road in order to make this stop. Incredibly scary and dangerous. Have gone to to dealership and everyone has a different opinion all of which are unbelievable in cost when it comes to safety.
While driving, trac bar bracket broke off front axle & vehicle could not be steered or controlled. Approx 2 weeks later, rear trac bracket broke off rear axle & vehicle was swaying, but could be controlled. The prior incidents mentioned above happened in 07/12 & 08/12. Jeep dealer made repairs by re-welding brackets. On 11/10/2016 my wife was coming home from work & heard a loud bang and lost control of vehicle & it was bouncing violently & could not steer vehicle & almost crashed vehicle. Trac bar bracket on front axle had broken off again after being repaired by Jeep dealer.
There is a horrible wobble in the Jeep. Felt very unsafe as it happened suddenly while driving on the highway.
Purchased a 2007 Jeep Wrangler less than a couple years ago with around 53k miles. I have just start experiencing what is known as death wobble, in the middle of my trip from colorado to virginia and the Jeep has been shaking violently at random intervals on the highway. This is known as I seen over 200 complaints online and Chrysler refuses to take responsibility and recall these Jeeps . I am taking to dealer but I won't stop until Chrysler reimburses for these repairs and want other people included the government to look into this. Someone is going to get hurt this is not right this needs to be addressed.
When driving at speeds of 50 to 55 mph the Jeep will go into an uncontrollable whoble witch you have to bring the Jeep to almost to a complete stop to get it under control . Have had it to the place of purchase in June 2016 3 times. They say they have fixed it but it is still doing the same thing. Last fix they turned brake rotors and reset tire pressure. No help.
I almost had fatal crash with my children because of 'death wobble'. It's not funny & Jeep needs to be sued for refusing to address this issue! over 50 times when traveling 65 mph the vehicles shakes uncontrollably forcing me to come to a complete stop on the highway. Why are they allowed to get away with this!!!.
While driving, if the vehicle hits a small bump, the front end shakes violently back and forth until I am able to stop the vehicle. This problem is widespread and can be found on the internet as the "Jeep death wobble". We've spent $900 to have this fixed and have been to 2 different garages to have it fixed and the mechanics can't find anything more that is wrong and claim it's a design flaw in the vehicle.
Death wobble at high speeds feels like Jeep is falling apart.
My Wrangler has been experiencing "death wobble" for the past 6 months. I felt like I was going to lose control of my car today since it was particularly bad. I was on the highway traveling 60mph when the car started shaking vigorously. I've taken this to the Jeep dealership 3 times and they cannot fix it. This happens at least 3 times per week. Jeep needs to issue a recall on this immediately. This is very dangerous.
Vehicle is exhibiting an unsafe speed wobble while driving above 40 mph, vehicle only has 50k miles, I already had all of the suspension components replaced and the condition remains, Chrysler/Jeep as a manufacturer should come up with a repair whether it is covered by manufacturer or by customer paid, there should be a proper repair for the problem, this condition could potentially cause an accident and injury.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the mounting plate fractured causing the vehicle wobble uncontrollably. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed and repaired. The contact was informed that the front differential and the front suspension needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000. Ah.
While driving down the highway going approximately 60 mph the vehicle hit something on the road (small bump) which resulted in a violent shaking from the front of the vehicle. I have sinced learned that this condition is commonly known as the death wobble. The condition was so violent I was forced to the side of the road. This has now happened twice in the last four weeks. The first instance I was driving straight, the second instance I was in a curve. The condition does not resolve itself although the magnitude of the vibration does decrease with speed. The vehicle is undrivable with this condition at highway speeds of 55-70 mph. The condition is induced by normal undulations and variations in the road (I. E. : not only a huge pothole). After stopping on the shoulder and inspecting the undercarriage I noticed nothing unusual. I resumed driving however, the condition did not resolve itself and I was forced to drive below 40 mph on the highway (as I had no other options). After the car sat for ~30 mins I drove the vehicle and the condition was not present. Each occurrence was resolved the same way by allowing the vehicle to rest. Chrysler did release a technical service advisory that describes what to check. My issue is that based on the number of people encountering problems with relatively low mileage (my vehicle is at 65k) the manufacturer should be held accountable vice the consumer to cover the replacement or prematurely worn parts.
Death wobble - at 55 mph or above you hit a bump in the road, the front axle begins violently oscillating, causing the car to shake (or wobble) in a manner which makes the vehicle hard to control.
Going 55 to 60 mph the Jeep stared to go into a death wobble. I had to make an emergency move into the break down lane. On I 95 in augusta maine.
While driving my 2007 Jeep Wrangler on an interstate going 70 miles per hour the whole Jeep shuck violently, apparently this is known as the death wobble. I had no idea why my whole Jeep was shaking and thought I jade a flat tire. I immediately pulled to the side of the interstate. I was terrified to continue my trip and I am still afraid to drive it. It is going to the shop on Friday. This was a very terrifying experience for me. I love my Jeep and this problem should be corrected before people are killed and not after the fact.
When going 55mph down the road ,it begins to shake with no warning,I seen where some people call it the death wobble,in order for it to stop shaking you have to come to a complete stop, and this happens when we drive it out of town ,and we have owened this Jeep since 9/14/2015 we bought it used.
I was driving on the highway, I hit a small bump on my rear wheel and all of a sudden my whole vehicle had stared to shake vigorously including the steering wheel I had to move of the road and come to a complete stop in order for the wheel to stop shaking.
Death wobble. I'm sure not the first complaint you've seen for it. This is a complete bs problem to have on a $40,000 vehicle and Chrysler/Jeep needs to be held liable for it. I have spent over $2,000 replacing components on the front-end - none of which have "cured" the violent "death wobble" when I hit a bump or pothole going 50 - 60mph. Just to add another definition to the problem, I will explain in detail. You hit a bump or a pothole going anywhere from 40 to 60 mph or so, and the whole front end begins to shake violently. Steering wheel shakes, wheels are wobbling back and forth like crazy, and the car is hard to control. There is no way to stop it until you pull off the road and stop the vehicle. Shoddy manufacturing is the only real culprit I can point to based on my experience and the hundreds of accounts I have personally read online just trying to find a solution for my own problem. This is completely unacceptable and needs to be addressed by Chrysler/Jeep. . .
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed the steering stabilizer needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 29,985. Kh.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler 4-dr 4x4. While driving 50 mph on a mountain road, the steering wheel and the vehicle began to shake violently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the steering damper, both front and rear shocks and both front tires needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. I have had the "death wobble" since I purchased my Jeep. This happened on both stock suspension and modified suspension and so far, it has happened easily well over 160 times over the course of this last year (I lost count as it happens fequently). I've dished out well over $1,000 to fix (so far), have had two accidents (Nov. 2, 2014 and Apr. 14, 2015, both minor with no police reports made either time) as a direct result of this, countless near misses, many a drink spilled on the floor board or myself then the floor thanks to either the gut-wrenching wobble itself, or having to slam on the breaks. Even more unsafe, is that everytime it happens, the only way to regain control of the vehicle is to stop immediately or risk further damage and/or losing control. This means having to slam on the breaks many times at highway speeds and hope that 1. ) I'm actually driving as my fiancé wouldn't have the strength to keep control 2. ) I maintain enough control to guide the Jeep to an emergency lane so I can stop safely. 3. ) hope that other drivers are paying attention and don't hit me. This is rediculous, and the more it happens, the less safe I feel, and the more risk that myself and my family are placed in. Jeep has a typical responses of, "we don't know what's wrong. ", "there's nothing we can do. ", "we are aware of the problem, but cannot offer a remidy. ", or "let's replace this. Sorry it didn't help. Let's try this. Yes, we understand it didn't work, but we still had to replace it, so you still have to pay. " plain rediculous, and what's more concerning is that this is a known problem that they refuse to address it. Please help!.
Death wobble!!! death wobble!!! as I was driving down the interstate with heavy traffic, I hit a bump goin 65 mph and suddenly with out any warning the front end of my Jeep started rapidly wobbling back and forth across the road, nearly causing multiple accidents. It startled me severely, I was able to turn on my hazard lights and started to slowly decelerate while trying to steer to the shoulder. It took until I got down to 25mph for it to stop shimmying. I stopped on the shoulder to inspect the front end off the highway, checked my tire pressure, the shocks, axle and all other parts to see what broke. Everything appeared to be normal and I could not find anything that caused the sever wobbling back and forth of the front end, so carried on, very cautiously. This happens quite often, sometimes going as low at 45mph, but only when something in the road knocks it off balance. I do not feel safe in my Jeep at all. The Jeep dealer tells me there is nothing wrong with the Jeep's suspension and I have had several independent mechanics tell me they dont know what to replace inorder to correct the problem that the only thing they have luck with fixing the issue is too replace the entire front-end along with the axle. This is the type of issue that this agency was established to correct. Something has to be done before people are killed due to a major enginnering defect by Jeep.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle uncontrollably veered left to right. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the suspension, the bracket damper, the steering damper, the nut hex flank, the bolt hex flank, the bar front, the steering adjuster, and the tie rod drags needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 103,142.
