The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated was driving 30 mph, when the brakes began exhibiting a very loud grinding noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the rear passenger side brake pad had detached from the vehicle. In addition, there was damage to the calipers and rotors as a result of the initial failure. The contact was awaiting the necessary parts needed to repair the vehicle. The contact stated that he believed the vehicle to be unsafe and was concerned with the failure recurring on a different brake pad. The failure mileage was 48,500.
