Brake Sensor problems of the 2008 Jeep Wrangler

One problem related to brake sensor has been reported for the 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2010

Rear brakes on 2008 Wrangler unlimited wore completely out in 24,400 miles. The front brake pads were at 80% according to the Jeep dealer service tech. There was no underlying cause such as sticking calipers or slides according to the technician. The discs were scored and needed to be resurfaced. Although the end result was within tolerance, the surface of both rotors remained scored in several spots. After complaining to the manager they decided to replace both rear discs with new mopar discs. My fear is not identifying an underlying cause for the premature failure. With advanced design and computer driven sensors, there may be a safety issue yet to be identified. I've never had the need to replace rear brakes on a vehicle so soon and considering the condition of the front brake equipment, my suspicion is a system fault that may need to be identified.
