I just bought this 08 Jeep Wrangler jk in 1/10/2015 and on the way home I stop to fill it up with gas and once full the over spill and didn't shut when it's suppose to went all over me. Every time I fill the Jeep up with gas it overflows everywhere.
Jeep is spitting back fuel during fill up. Chrysler is telling me that my Jeep is not covered under the extended warranty that other 2008 Jeep Wranglers have now been given. I have videos of this spitback happening. (inlet check valve defect) one dealer said it was covered but Chrysler says no. Have been trying to get Chrysler to repair it for 2 years now.
Gas will spill out when nozzle shuts off automatically.
Every time I fuel the Jeep, it overflows after its full and spills everywhere. The first time this happened, the fuel spilled all over my pants and shoes and hand. This is a safety hazard and needs to be fixed. The overfilling problem has been occurring everytime I fill up.
During refueling, fuel back filled from the filler tube. This caused gas to spray out and splash onto me, the vehicle and ground.
When I fill up the vehicle, gas flows backwards out of the filler neck and pours down the side of the vehicle onto the ground. I loose at least 12 ounces.
I just pulled out of quick trip after putting $60 in gas in and right about 35 mph around 1500rpm I heard a loud "pop" the Jeep shut down, then flames came from both sides of my Jeep, almost burning my leg. (I had the doors and top off the vehicle. ).

My son was driving his Jeep back to university when gauges started to flicker then go out. He then saw smoke from engine compartment and pulled to side of road. Looking under Jeep around motor area he saw flames and backed away from vehicle. The fire spread quickly and engulfed the vehicle completely and it is a total loss. The Jeep had no major issues, just something electrical happened and it was over in about 30 minutes.
Every single time I go to fill up my 2008 Jeep Wrangler sahara gas spills down the side and onto the ground. When the pump clicks off it is already over-filled and spills everywhere! I've tried holding it at different angles and pushing it farther in but nothing works except not filling up my vehicle entirely. Every time you fill the Jeep with gas it sprays fuel at you out of the fuel filler. It happens as soon as the fuel nozzle shuts off. This is a continuous problem and has been like this for approximately the 2 years that I have owned the vehicle. This could be potentially dangerous. It is very frustrating for fuel to be sprayed on you every time you fill up. Does not matter what gas station either.
Just bought the used 2008 Wrangler from a dealer. Pumping gas for the first time. The fuel overflowed at the end of filling. This was not a trickle, it was like a cup of gas puked out. There are numerous videos on youtube. Com demonstrating the scenario. I am concerned for my safety and very disappointed that a car from the dealer has a known issue.

I started my 2008 Jeep Wrangler jk and immediately got a check engine light with an audible sound. The engine was running very rough and shaking. I turned off the engine and it seemed fine but the check engine light was still on. I have a obd2 diagnostic code reader and it showed the code p0306. This is a misfire on the number six cylinder. I took it to larry h. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram dealership in albuquerque and this is what was done. "WI tech diagnostics for fault codes, had store codes for injector #6 circuit, no work done, operating as per design". I asked what can be done to fix the problem and [xxx] said that the tech could not duplicate the problem so they could not fix anything. [xxx] offered to perform a fuel injector cleaning but this was the only options for now. The next day I started the Jeep and had the same issue. I looked up this code 0306 on the Jeep jk site and read posts of "pentastar problem". In all cases these people had to visit the dealership 4 to 5 times until they fixed the problem. The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while refueling, the nozzle would repeatedly turn off and once it did fuel would spew back out from the filler neck. The contact mentioned that the engine and fuel cap warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 70,000 and the current mileage was 81,000.

I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler with 30,000 miles. I live in stuart, florida I started out one morning with my 2 kids in the vehicle, we were not even a mile from the house when it proceeded to catch fire. I put out the fire, it was towed the dealership. After several weeks, Chrysler said there was no manufacturer defect and would not fix it. My insurance stepped in and fixed it. I may be contacted. Persistent fuel overflow issue since 4/25/09. Every time I fuel the vehicle, fuel comes out of the filler tube and spills on the vehicle and pavement.
