Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps Problems of Jeep Wrangler

We leased our Jeep [xxx and started having software (sw) issues in December 2023. We were informed in June 2024, after having multiple sw issues, from dealer senior mechanic that 90% of the first wave 2024 Jeep Wranglers had sw issues. Our Jeep was a first wave unit, we were not informed of a possible sw during test drive. There's been two sw updates that I know of, one in late Jun 2024 and another in mid sept 2024. Neither fixed all the sw issues and in fact added more additional issues. Dates listed or beginning dates. Issues include control-d: going totally blank starting in Jan 2024 on startup or while driving or starting, in oct 2024 having a half inch strip across the top and down left side, dash navigation direction provides two dashes starting Jul 2024 on startup and for about 30sec, gps freezing up in Aug 2024, all functions on screen froze up Nov 2024, to name a few. Fca us llc has no idea when the next sw update will be released or what fix's will be included. Hardware (hw): Mar 2024 headlights with switch in auto will come on in broad sunlight. While driving on [xxx], engine warning light came on and remained on for a total of 36hours during start up and driving time. Presently at starr motors suffolk, va since Dec 16, 2024. They have been directed to trouble shoot and fix hw. We've were informed Jan 14, 2025, that the oil control valve is bad, and more testing will be performed once parts are replaced. Back in 2015 Jeep dealership sold me a 3rd party gps theft tracking system. I used the website to access it out of curiosity, no problems had occurred. After the first initial month of installation, never bothered with it again. In truth of it all I had forgotten all about it until 2021 when I was running a dash am wire under the dash. The module is open and exposed to condensation. The module consisting of a small li-ion battery and a circuit board that's held on by velcro. The battery had swelled and off gassed rendering device inoperable. Who nows for how long it's been in that condition. The device is still attached with blown out battery, don't even know if gps is still operational. I don't remember the company's website or physical address and number. But according to my purchasing forms from Jeep the service is titled "mobile trace". Last time I checked if li-ion and moisture mix unsafe things can happen not to mention the inhalation of the gasses.

Backup camera randomly does not work. Sometimes the backup camera will work but without the guidelines. And sometimes the backup camera will not work at all, only showing the navigation gps screen completely black. It malfunctions like this while backing up in my garage, or backing up into a parking spot in a parking garage or on a city street. I was informed by two dealership service department representatives that they can't do anything about it unless it is not working when I bring it in, so they will be able to diagnosis the problem correctly. Of course, it always works properly when I bring it in to the dealership. I have videos from my iphone when it malfunctions but the dealership said they were sorry and can't diagnosis it with the video, and that it has to be in the malfunction mode at that time before they can do anything about it. I currently have around 8,600 miles on my 2018 Jeep jl sahara Wrangler and this problem started around 4,500 miles or maybe slightly less. This is very frustrating! I specifically paid extra for this Jeep model to get the backup camera. And it only works properly about 60% of the time! I never know when it will work properly or when it will not work at all.

The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. While attempting to use the navigation system, the contact noticed major highways and old public buildings did not appear. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where it was repaired. The failure continued. The contact called the manufacturer who stated that the failure was common. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 10 and the current mileage was approximately 8,000.
