I have a 2015 kia Optima with 55k miles on it. Without warning driving to work I slowed down to enter the gate and heard my brakes grind metal on metal. I thought I would hear a squeal when my brake pads started wearing out way before I heard metal on metal. I immediately took my car to a mechanic and he told me that my squeal bars on each brake were bent back to where they did not come in contact with the brake pad. He stated that sometimes a stick or something could get up in the wheel and possibly bend one a little bit but seems unlikely that it would happen on both front brakes. It seems obvious that my car came from the factory that way but I have no proof. Even if I was hard on my brakes and the pads were worn I should have heard the squeal as a warning to replace the pads before I had to replace both of the original front pads and rotors on the same day.

Takata recall. I was involved in an accident where I was coming off the highway, slid on water and crashed into a steel pole. The breaks did not work at all and when I got out to look at the damage the break pads were in the middle of the street like they had just fall off. None of the airbags deployed and my friend's head cracked the windshield. Car was totaled.

I had my brake pads and rotors replaced in November 2017. The service dept at the dealership indicated, they would not pass inspection and were beyond salvaging. I had them replaced. In April, I went back to the dealer for routine service, including an oil change. I had complained of vibration in the brake pedal and was advised it was normal. On August 3rd I had another oil change and requested the brakes be looked at, as the vibration was at a point of concern. The serv dept indicated the front rotors were warped and needed replacing, less than a year later, and less than 4000 miles later. I was upset and they were able to charge me 1/2 the cost. That evening I drove and found the vibration to be exactly as before the replacement. I went to the service dept, yet again on August 8. They indicated the vibration was from the rear and those rotors needed to be replaced. There are only 42000 miles on the car. I drive less than 3 miles round trip each day. I discovered that they were never road testing the car, just looking at the brakes/rotors and replacing. They are either putting warped rotors on the vehicle and/or lying about replacing them. I could have saved time and money had the work been completed right , the first time.

In the past month I have noticed when coming to a stop and applying the brakes on my 2009 kia Optima that the car jerks like it doesn't want to stop. I have had my brake pads checked and they are fine. I have however noticed that when I'm coming to a stop and put the car in neutral I stop fine with no jerking. I have taken it to a transmission shop and they have said that their is no problems there and have also called the local kia dealership to have the problem looked at but they stated that if its something not covered under warranty I have to pay $100 just for them looking at the vehicle regardless if they find the problem or not. I have searched the internet and have seen similar problems with this particular car but no information on what is causing the issue.

Bought a 2007 kia Optima in July 2010, after 3 months had to have brakes and rotors replaced. Now only a month later the brakes are bad again. I have to take it to the shop. The back driver side brakes are grinding. The car continues to squeal. I talked to the dealership where I bought the car this is not covered under warranty. However when I bought the car they said there was more than 50% brake pads left. When I changed them the first time they were completely gone in the back on the drivers side. I do not feel that I should have to be replacing the brakes again, just one month later. Something is wrong with that. I am not happy with my car or the dealership at the moment.

Got looked in car several times and could not get out. Sometimes they work most of the time they don't. 6). Antenna broke off for no reason. Went out on day barely touched it and it feel off. 7) on Feb 9th car would not start for 4 days for no reason had towed from own house to garage were they know believe it has a cracked head or blown head gasket. This car only has 89,000 miles and should not have all these problems already. There needs to be something done I have a 3yr old and a 7 yr old. I fear for there lives and mine. . I don't even want this car anymore and have had it for only 4 months. Please help if u have any advice. Don't buy a kia. Also this car came with a 90 day warranty from harry's auto sales and they kept telling me for 3 month there was nothing wrong and only would reset computer until I took it to another garage and they found out differt. They told us head gasket. Harry said noooooo. When warranty ran out then they informed me I need a head gasket. They said I would have to pay for it cause warranty out. That sounds like a lemon. Please help me find legal advice.

I purchased a new kia Optima in 2004. In 2005 the rear passenger tire smelled like burnt rubber. I took the car into dorschel automotive group. They stated that the brakes needed grease and I was all set. The rear brake continued to smell like smoke intermittently and shrugged it off due to lubricants. In 2007 I complained of the problem of smell of smoke and a sound of medal on medal everytime I made a turn. Dorschel inspected the brakes and stated I needed new rotors and new brake pads in the rear. The car only had 14,230 miles on it. We argued that a car with such low mileage should not have a break job done so soon. Dorschel did not offer any assistance and basically stated they have customers waiting. We reluctantly did the brake job in order to pass inspection. However, we asked for the parts. Under inspection of the original brakes, the brakes separated and the pads do not look worn. We called kia to file a complaint. We received a case number k1384334. Kia claims this is occurring due to the car sitting. We stated to kia that the car is on the road on a daily basis in all types of weather. Kia stated it is our fault, closed the case, and did not resolve the brake issue. We let this issue go, until recently. We took the car back in for the same problem of smoking brakes and medal on medal sound, but this time we took it to vision kia. Again, I contacted kia about the same brake issue to have them work directly with vision kia to see if kia truly has a defect in it's parts. Vision kia is stating that I need front and back brake jobs. Again, kia is stating this is our issue because the car is sitting. Again I explained to kia that the car is on the road on a daily basis. The car has 21,417 miles. There are cars that are older than my car with low mileage that never had to have brake jobs done. I believe the issue is that the kia genuine parts are of poor quality. With the brake pads separating, I believe to be a danger of brake failure.

When braking vehicle vibrated severely. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the consumer that the front brake rotors and pads needed to be replaced due to excessive wear.
