Brake Fluid Leak Problems of Kia Motor Optima

Suddenly the brakes were applied to the car on the road while driving at 55 mph on a highway. If there were any cars behind me, I would have gotten rear ended, at a very high speed, potentially resulting in severe injury. I was not able to drive the car anything more than 5mph due to the break constantly being applied to the car resulting in me not being able to merge across the highway safely to the side. The car gave the "check brake" alert along with "hybrid system failure". The kia dealership in fremont, California diagnosed the issue. Attached is the diagnosis report. There was a brake fluid leak inside the hydraulic electronic control unit (hecu), possibly resulting in an electrical short. That is exactly same issue as kia recall 20v519000 issued in August 2020. If the hecu short circuits, there is an increased risk of an engine compartment fire. Kia needs to add this VIN to the recall. It's same year model as recall. Dealer advised to replace a part 58620-4u301. Kia shall promptly address this issue. Greatly appreciate it.

My brakes on my 2013 kia Optima have a defect when turn on car the switch gear changes to p r d and any gear without me putting my foot on the brake to put the switch gear in place and it smells like a gasoline smell when I drive my car I don't know if that's a brake fluid leak are what but I was just notified that on consumers affairs kia has a recall on year 2013 to 2015 kia cars and Hyundai cars. Last week, on Aug 29th 2020, I tried to make a left u-turn on a residential street and the steering wheel locked up. I got scared and just drove forward to the next street and turned right onto that street. On Aug the 17th, 2020 I had my car inspected. The mechanic said the brake fluid was leaking and had to fix that. Approx 2 weeks later, sept 2nd, the motor blew on my car while driving on a hwy. There was black smoke coming through the a/c vent right before it happened. The car is a total loss.

I had problem with brakes locking up on 2003 kia Optima, had it at a dealership to get fixed. They said they fixed it, but had same problem. They had it towed, took it back to fix it again, then put a governor on it, said the brakes were now fixed. Well, this evening, enroute to pick my daughter from the daycare facility, I saw traffic stopped, went to slow up by applying brakes and guess what? no brakes! this did not happen all the time, but intermittently, now caused me to have an accident because the brakes did not work! the repair shop at the dealership is the one who said it was all taken care of, however, as you can see , it is not taken care of as the brakes failed!! the brakes did not engage, I was going to try to go in the lefthand lane of the two lane highway on my side of the road, however there was a car already in position on that side and the curb, grass and then a pizza hut on my right, leaving me no where to go but under the bumper of a pick up. It pushed the grill into the radio, therefore the hood is buckled, the bumper destroyed and car will be totaled by the insurance company as it is cost more to repair as it also tore off side strip and other parts on the left hand side of the car. The left hand turn signal blinks twice as fast as it should as I checked out everything as the police officer said it was drivable. I drove it home very slowly with my dad in a car behind me to make sure I did not leak any fluid and also to make sure I got home alright with my 8 year old daughter after we picked her up at daycare. This should not have happened so what is wrong with the 2003 brakes on kia Optimas? if there is a recall on them I need to know as I am trying to find a website for them as I have been told there have been brake issues on kias for several years, one of which is the 2003 kia Optima.
