It started with the head lights going out then shortly after that was fixed the car would shudder start. The clock would show 000 as if the car was brand new and needed the time placed on the clock the same thing was happening to the speedometer. Then the car just wouldn't not start at all. The lights would come on it would also click but not turn over. We tried jumping the car that worked for a while but now the no start is staring to be consistent.
While driving on the interstate, my kia Optima stopped accelerating, we were luckily near an exit and were able to pull over to the side of the road. The lights and music stayed on but the car would not start again. There was nothing happening up to the point that would have warned us this was going to happen, the check engine light never came on. I had to get the vehicle towed home.

Drove to get ice cream and car was running well, without any problems. Shit the car off to order ice cream, and when getting back in the car, the car would not start. All the lights would come on and my music would play as well as the ac turned on, but nothing more than an almost silent ticking sound coming from under the hood. Had my husband try to jump the car to see if that helps, and nothing happened. I had the car towed home and the next morning, my husband and I replaced the ignition sensor fuse and the car started. Then a couple hours later I tried to start the car again, and it was doing the same thing. Car has been disabled ever since and is going on 1 week now. Car broke down on Wednesday 31 July, 2019. Not to mention that I just had my radiator cooling fan replaced two days prior to this breakdown. I also had my replacement recall engine placed in just about a month ago. All of these problems are happening after the recall has been placed, and the only thing I get is kick back when I say this cannot be coincidental. I get told that my car has many miles on it so things are expected to break. Unacceptable and unappreciated and just down right wrong.
When placing the car in park the car isn't recognizing that the car is parked causing it to continue to roll. Once the ignition has been turned off the car will not restart and the gears will not shift.

Push the start button and car did not start tried the 30 second rule car just sizzled after about 10 tries car start but cut it off does same thing my car was parked in driveway or at work and it cuts off in traffic engine was replaced last year due to recall battery has been replaced parking light on one side is out when replacing it car also would not start.
Car will not start occasionally- there are several internet comments about this happening to many kia owners- some remedy is to start it in neutral- shift gear from park to drive back to park and then try to start it- wiggle gift shift etc- dealer claims they need to reproduce in order to repair but they are ignoring the fact that this is a safety issue if someone gets stranded - I have extended warranty yet they refuse to try to repair.
The contact owns a 2013 kia Optima. While driving 60 mph, the rpms increased rapidly without warning. In addition, the remote push to start stopped working and the vehicle would not start. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000.
The car will not start after a short trip to market, shop for <hour, come out to start car turn ignition, car will not turn over, all dashboard lights come on, I jiggle shift gear in park and then turn key in ignition again and it might start after a few or several attempts. This happens on consecutive days and then may skip several days before another occurrence. On three visits to the dealership and problem can't be duplicated although it happened in oct 2015, (41,575 mi) July 2016 two times, August 21,23, 26, 27,28, sept 11, 12, 20, most times it was stationary except for the July 26, 2016 when I was driving it lost momentum and I pulled off the road stopped turned it off and then it would not restart. Dealership still could not duplicate the problem. Has anyone else reported this problem with kia Optima 2012? I'm afraid to even drive the car because I don't know when it will happen. I won't dare take the car on a trip I have asked kia customer service to authorize a loaner car for up to 30 days so they can take the car and check everyday until the problem is duplicated. Kia will not provide a loaner car so that I have transportation and they can keep the car to determine the problem.

2012 kia Optima sx car went into auxiliary mode first, but upon pushing the button the push start button a second time the engine turned over and started. The consumer had to replaced the tires, there was an issue with the turbo actuator and the radio was making a strange noise. The consumer stated the vehicle would not start. The vehicle went into auxiliary; where the ac, radio and lights were on. She turned them all off and pushed the start button again. The vehicle turned off, went out of auxiliary mode and she removed her foot from the brake. On the second attempt, she realized the pedal was still engaged, she tried pumping it, to release it, but it would not. She verified the gear was in park. Upon pushing the start button again, the vehicle went into auxiliary mode again. After five attempts, she was able to start the vehicle.
This is the second complain regarding the same issue car fail to start this time the car had to be towed to, and dropped at the kia dealer. At the end of the day we called the dealer to see if they had found what is wrong with it. The technician that was working on it, mention that as soon as the car was uncounted from the tow truck, they try and switch the car; nevertheless, the car started without any issues. He said that they switch it off and on throughout the day, and were not able to replicate the problem. What am I to do? all I want is for the problem to be taken care of. I want to drive my car without the fear of being stranded.

The first episode was a dead battery. The car had 13 miles on the odometer. The second incident, car would not start, ignition issue, but later started (after 1hr). Taken to dealer, secondary to ignition issues. Problem resolved until today. Would not start again. Tried two different key fobs and still did not start. This is the third incident since having the vehicle. I will need to have the car towed for the second time.
Purchased 2004 kia Optima ex new. Have had fuse block replaced w/in 15000 miles. Now, the fuel pump has failed. The car ran fine and was parked. Next day car would not start. No fuses blown. The terminal connector from the fuel pump to the gas tank penetration has burned out causing an intermittent open in circuit. Fuel pump burned up in tank. Wires and connectors visibly charred. Connection that failed is inside of the gas tank. Very similar to ntsb case #10161074. Have 120,000 miles on the car. Others with less mileage are in for trouble due to poor engineering design. Defective parts available for photograph or inspection.
