When it is hot and the sun is shining down on the vehicle for a long period of time, the drivers door and rear passenger door locks will not operate from the key fob? when it cools down such as evening or early morning the locks work just fine from the key fob? seems to be related to hot or cool weather. No clue at this point why I have to work the locks manually when it is hot outside?.

Various doors will not properly lock/unlock from the electric switch and the key fob. This is an interment failure affecting multiple doors in the vehicle. Different doors locks are failing at different times, both locking and unlocking. Based on my research on the internet, this affects a significant number of 2005 to 2010 Optima’s. This defect could cause occupants to be trapped in the event of an accident or emergency.
Power door locks will not work at times both inside and with the remote preventing all ability to get out of the vehicle. This occurs when the car is at a stop both while running and not running. I generally do not try to open the doors while I'm driving.

The drivers side door lock will not unlock with the electrical button or manually. The lock only opens half way - pull handle to open - door automatically locks. Can't open door with key from outside. Must enter in passenger side door and climb over. Big danger as driving with children in the car. *t.

I cannot enter and exit my car safely anymore. The drivers side door lock will not unlock with key fob or by key manually. I was in a hurry at one point to exit to retrieve my child who had exited the car and was heading into traffic at a parking lot and I could not get out of the car. I had to exit from the passenger side. The door works in rare instances, but is not reliable or dependable. This is my only mode of transportation and I have owned the vehicle since new. However, I no longer feel safe should I have an emergency, I may not be able to enter or exit the car as needed.
Passenger door locks and will not unlock without pushing the unlock button and pulling the door handle at the same time. It takes about 5 to 10 minuets to get door open using this method. This is a serious safety issue which could trap a person in their car.
The drivers side door lock will not unlock with the electrical button or manually. Manually opened, the lock only opens half way - pull handle to open - door automatically locks. Can't open door with key from outside. Must enter in passenger side door and climb over. Big danger as driving with children in the car.
Drivers side locking and not releasing. Numerous incidents where the drivers side door locks and will not release. (using the key on the outside or the pad on the inside door) I have repeatedly had to climb out the back door because the plastic pieces that were used when making the car are worn out and not allowing the lock to unlock. If there was an accident I would not be able to get out on the drivers side. I believe this is a manufactures defect. I am hoping that a recall or a silent recall will be issued for this since I am not able to open the door to get the door panel off to fix it.
